As humans... there is something in our psychology that is attracted to famous people. People that have done what we want to be able to do. Rich people, famous people, leaders of companies or industries etc. I'm a follower of Donald Trump. I think what he has done is amazing. I also like him because he has a certain "attitude" to him... A certain Style.
Because I like Donald Trump, if he writes an article, or buys a company, or does something, I like to hear about it. I have read his writings and content and books online, and I have used what I have learned in my own life.
Attraction Marketing at it's finest. He wasn't trying to sell me anything, I'm just interested in him for what he has done. I "ACTIVELY PURSUED" him because I was impressed with his accomplishments and style.
Because he is not "selling me" anything, I am much more likely to listen to what he has to say, and maybe implement it into my business.
This is the epitome of online marketing. This is how it works. Now you can't replace "the Donald" but you can have some success marketing online.
You create widgets. If you go door to door trying to sell your widgets, you may make some mild progress. By taking this content marketing strategy online,you could turn your marketing efforts totally upside down.
Here is how you turn the sales funnel upside down with content marketing.
Let's say that you know about your widgets better than anyone else. After all you created it, built it, designed it or came up with the idea for it. This makes you a "specialist" about the widget.
Now what you have to do is create some content about your widget. Content is online video, audio, or an article specifically for the internet.. It's basically "show and tell" online.
Show me why your widget will make me happier?. Tell me why your widget will help me. Tell/Show me how you use your widget in everyday life. Tell me why you made the widget...
Content marketing strategy
Create the content.
All you need to do is write an article or shoot a short video about your widget.
Distribute the content.
There is an entire "cottage inudstry" of services and tools for that.
It's important to "get the word out" and propagate your message
Let people know how to get in touch with you..
If they want to know more about you or your widget, what should they do, where should they go?
This is a very simple strategy. It's also the least used.
