Alexa and TOP 5 Websites by Its Statistics

Alexa has become one of the most important tools for webmasters to check their website ratings and statistics by this system. On Alexa ratings there are two things that have a bit more influence by statistic checkers: the number of visitors (the Reach feature) and the number of page views (Pageviews). Reach features the percent of whole internet users who have visited the current site. For example if the site is yahoo.com it may have nearly 25% ''Reach'' which means that from whole internet users counted by Alexa, the 25 % are yahoo.com visitors. Pageview statistics feature the total amount of requests from these visitors to the site. But, multiple requests for the same website URL by one visitor within one day is considered as a one pageview.

The top list of websites is created by their one month Alexa traffic rank. My friends and other internet users always ask which are the most visited websites are or which are the top sites in Alexa list. Below I submit the top 10 sites on web with their introductions and reviews for March of 2010.

1. The first site that has the most popularity and traffic on web is Google. Google services such as search technology, Webmaster Tools, Translation of results and Page Rank are known to everyone. Google is the first on Alexa list.

2. The second visited site on web is thought to be Facebook. Facebook is a social utility that connects people to keep up with friends, colleagues and relatives. As a popular social network Facebook allows its users to share pictures, videos and update fresh statuses with links available.

3. YouTube is the third site by its popularity that reaches more than 24% percent of all internet users. YouTube is the best way on internet to upload videos, tag, and share them worldwide. People love going to YouTube because there you can find videos in any possible category.

4. Yahoo. Yahoo is an alternative search engine for Google which is the best concurrent to it. Yahoo is also known for its web portal, Yahoo Directory, Mapping, Yahoo News and other services. People are addicted also for free and fun various Yahoo Games.

5. Live is another search engine by Microsoft. Since 2009 it is a predecessor for Bing. The most popular services by Microsoft that operate with Bing are Windows Live, Live Messenger, Live blogger and etc. Live reaches more than 16 percent of whole internet users.
