Anybody Remember Stanley Home Products?

Why is it that no one remembers Stanley Home Products? Was it because of their products? Probably not. The products seemed good enough. It was for us. My wife tried to sell it way back in college. Don't laugh, that was in the early 80's.

We still have a big brown pot that we use every once in a while. She never made any money though. All of our friends were college kids too, and most of them were not married. So what happened? Why did it not work for my wife? Well, for her the thing was just not having enough contacts to sell to. We lived in a small town, hung around with college kids, and our families were hundreds of miles away. It was just not a good way to try to build a business for us.

Now was Stanley Home Products a bad choice for a home business? Not really, but for us the marketing plan was very simple. We had to sell the stuff to our friends and get them to sell it for us. There just was not a lot of opportunity to make any money, At least not enough to live on.

So what is the answer? How can I or you make enough money to live on? You can either work for yourself or work for someone else. The lottery is not working for me, I don't know about you.
