Are You (Really) Ready to Lead Others?

Seasoned or new, here's a fact you deserve to "get" right now: Only leaders make money in this (or any) kind of business.

Now, I conceive leadership as a much needed skill that most people in this world fail to "get"..Besides the known values of integrity, passion and determination, there are 3 simple strings that ALL leaders must exercise daily.

#1 Self-Mastery: I could write a whole new article about this one...As a matter of fact, if you read the title closely, you'll notice that is has a lot to do with the ability to self-mastering yourself. I mean...How could you be ready to lead others, if you are not able to lead (or master) yourself first?

Though huh? It can certainly be a VERY stressful situation for someone new in the "Business World" who's used to let someone else tell him/her what to do..Now, for the sake of your success in business, "get" this: There's no way around it..You either master yourself first, or you won't be able to lead others and therefore fail in business.

#2 Action: How many times have you heard this advice? Many times probably...But, have you ever "get" the message behind it? Well, in case you can't, don't feel bad...few can. Taking action is not only the real measure of intelligence, but also the way to get done the things required for you to be successful at your business. So, whenever in doubt...ACT!

#3 Relationships: My 7th grade teacher once said: The man is not designed to be alone..And boy if she was right. A "relationship" is the most sacred connection that two human beings can have on this planet. It goes from marriage, brotherhood, AND friendships to...yes, business. How are you showing up to your prospects, mentors and/or partners will determine your success in building long lasting and healthy relationships.

By taking these 3 critical strings, there's no other outcome than success when it comes to leadership..As a bodybuilder exercises his body day-after-day, leadership MUST be exercised daily too.

Be Careful...

Before you go and conclude that leadership has anything to do with being everyone's boss...Let me tell you something: A LOT of bosses out there are NOT real leaders..Actually, most fail at least in one of these critical strings and they just create fear in their employees which result in bad relationships in many companies and teams...
