Brilliant Compensation and Tim Sales - A Critical Review

Tim Sales is the creator of Brilliant Compensation, a training product that is geared towards helping network marketers overcome objections and grow their businesses. He works with Dr. Charles King, discussing many of the objections that surround network marketing, and helping to give the industry an improved image.

While I enjoyed Brilliant Compensation, there are some key issues that it does not address. One of the most fundamental is the concept of prospecting.

The Components Of Prospecting

In order to grow a sustainable business, you must have:

1. Leads - people who are interested in what you have.
2. Sale Funnel - a tool that sorts those who are ready to do business from those who are not.

And that's it. Prospecting is a part of the sales funnel. After you know someone has an interest in what you have, you should prospect them (make them an offer of information that relates the benefits of what you are marketing), present to them (typically using a teleseminar / webinar) and then close them. That's the whole process.

Brilliant Compensation may do much for the prospecting/closing part of that puzzle, but in order to have people to prospect, you must have leads! Otherwise, there's simply nobody to speak with. Marketing to friends and family is a very limited model, as you will run out of them in short order. Random prospecting at the mall will get you kicked out. This is why lead generation is as important as prospecting and closing if one wants to be truly successful with their business.
