I have often thought about the pioneers, for those that left the East coast and moved with family and belongings to the west, they often never saw those left behind again. They often only heard from them by letter a few times in their lives. Our daughter got married five months ago and moved 800 miles away. I talk to her often, text her at least once a day, and receive e-mails whenever she wants to relay something to me. I can check her Facebook site to see recent pictures of her and new husband's outings, friends and fun things they are doing. Even though we are separated by 800 miles I am still able to stay in touch in a real way. They are also only an hour and a half away by airplane. Each one of these a modern miracle. Our ability to communicate is unfathomable to any earlier generation. Even to us a few short years ago. She is literally in my back pocket if she needs anything.

The internet also has become more viable for business, information and accessibility as time goes on. One of the greatest break throughs for the small businessman is local internet marketing. It has taken this gigantic world wide web and brought it down to our very own neighborhood. It is truly a miracle and I hope we never lose our sense of wonder of the capability and capacity it holds.
