For those of you fortunate enough to be able to work from home and actually make money, do you find it that others assume you are sloughing off? Do you have difficulty telling others what you do? You're not alone and in the big picture who really cares what others assume. They aren't going to volunteer their money to take care of you.
Have you ever been incapacitated for any reason for any length of time? Isn't it sickening when they tell you just to stay home and take it easy until you feel better? Oh, are they going to pay your bills, keep food on the table for your family? No is the only answer here. You still need to get up and provide for everyone as quickly as you can.
That is a comparison to show that it doesn't matter what others say. You are doing the work and you know what it takes so make a game of it and tell them what the gurus tell those who buy their products and that is that after turning on the computer you were able to go to an island and drink cocktails as the ocean beats down on the surf. That is what they sell with each and every ad you see along with the hot red sports car with a beautiful seductively awaiting to get into the car and drive off in the distance.
Hogwash! There isn't anyone or anything that is going to start pouring out money except a slot machine and even that needs priming. Unless you were born with a computer chip in your head, then there is a ton of information that you will need to be an effective online worker. You don't need to be a nerd, but it wouldn't hurt. It seems as if today's movies are glorifying the nerd so why not play the part. You might even pick up that hot chick they advertise in the guru ads.
How about trying to explain to the spouse when he or she thinks the only job is the one that you get ready in the morning and you drive off to the office. They can make it very difficult to work effectively online. It's bad enough when you are trying and you have trouble convincing yourself that you are on the right track. It takes months before you ever make any money if you are actually trying to make a business.
If you are lucky enough to have a telecommuting job that pays you every payday then it is a lot easier to justify your work at home efforts. It is tough when you look at all of the reports that you have setup and they keep saying that customers are looking, but when you look at the purchases and all you see is ZERO.
So when the spouse's friend calls and gives you some sarcastic remark try to hold your tongue because it will work out in the end. Keep plugging away and take a part time job to help while you continue to learn your online craft.
Who knows some you nerd kid that you work with might spark the idea that you had been looking for to get you on the map in your online job.
