Cookie Lee is a direct selling company that specializes in fashion jewelry. They are somewhat well known and sell their jewelry online and through consultants at home parties. In this article we will Review Cookie Lee and show why you may or may not want to be a part of this company.
To join the Cookie Lee team, one must purchase one of two start-up kits. The first kit option costs just under $250 plus $90 in start up fees costs and materials. The second option costs $500 as well as $140 in fees. The initial kit cost is the inventory of jewelry you must buy before you even do your first party. You must have a large inventory of jewelry because this company leaves the stocking and selling of the products to you and what you have on hand is what the customers have to choose from at these home parties.
This poses a threat, however, because if the selection you choose does not jive with the customer's taste, then you will have an awful lot of jewelry to wear and a lot of money spent with nothing to show for it. And if you can only afford the smaller start up kit, then your chances of picking out the right jewelry to sell diminishes even more.
However, because you have this large inventory already, there is no minimum requirement for sales or number of parties to hold because the company has already made their profit off of you and doesn't care if you sell the jewelry or are able to become successful. Cookie Lee says they do care, but personally, any company that insists on making their profit off of the consultant, before anything is even sold, is a company that I would say is not a good source for a second or supplement income.
Consultants do make a 50% commission on sales and a commission on building a team through recruits as well. The downfall with that is that since the inventory is bought beforehand, more people will be unable financially to start up this business versus a business where they buy supplies and the company takes care of the inventory of products.
This company is legitimate and so are their products, but the inventory sends up red flags for me as far as making money goes. I do not mind an investment, but I do not envy the consultants who get stuck with that much jewelry.
