If you're building a business online, you have probably heard that content is king. If you're like me, I'm sure you've felt frustrated in coming up with ideas to create content. You get so frustrated you end up staring at a blank computer screen or a blank piece of paper. You start getting that sinking feeling that you're wasting precious time and getting nowhere.
How would you feel if I told you creating content is not as hard as you're making it out to be?
Here are three simple and uncomplicated ways to come up with content ideas.
1. Keep a small note pad with you at all times to jot down ideas or think about using some sort of recording device to record what's coming to mind. It's common to have content ideas pop up at the most random times like driving, watching TV, or reading. Your mind is more relaxed and thoughts are flowing more freely, so take advantage of those times to get your ideas recorded.
2. Write about what you know. Did you take a course or learn something from a newsletter you subscribed to? Take what you learned and tell about it in your own words and perspective. Believe it or not, there are people who are looking for your knowledge. Don't worry that your content may already be discussed somewhere else on the internet. What will make your content different from anybody else's is your style and voice.
3. Think about a problem or a stumbling block you've had in building your business. Did you come up with a solution? If you did, you've got content. Describe the problem and how it affected you, then give the solution. If you had a problem that you solved, count on the fact that someone is looking for a solution to the same problem.
People tend to make content creation too difficult and in the process end up with a mind block. When you take advantage of these methods, you'll keep the content ideas flowing without getting frantic about what you will write or talk about next.
