Get It Right the First Time

I want to give you an idea of how my old patterns of thinking and how my "paradigm" really kept my perspective from ever allowing me to advance in this life and how something had to change...

I hope that you will learn from my mistakes... why should you have to make the same mistakes that I did? It would definitely be the blind leading the blind.

A definition of insanity;

Doing the same thing over and over, While expecting a different result.

Now you're probably wondering, "why is this person giving away his secrets and telling me all this?"

I'll tell you why, "I've learned that the only way to ever truly keep something is by giving it away... or, rather in this case, the only way to enjoy my pie is to allow others to enjoy some of my pie...Now in semi-retirement, I have the the opportunity to pass on the experiences that have been profitable to me, in hopes that they too can benefit you... I simply want to pass on to others what I have enjoyed for so many years......Success....", but, and a very big but, Success did not come to me immediately.

I really had no one to teach me anything. The so called Guru's could always tell you something for a price, but never seemed to get to the right thing that could make you wealthy. It was always, buy this other book and also call this other person to get the best leads offered on this planet, and if you hurry up you can get them for $1,000 dollars rather than paying the usual amount of $1,500.

As a new person in 1994 trying to make a living on the internet was very difficult. You had to listen to so many sales pitches your head was in a constant twirl and your spouse was on your back, and you keep hoping and praying that some of the garbage you were getting would soon prove to be real. you began crying to the world, what did I do wrong?

Oh my goodness, How many times, me, and hundreds of thousands of others all over the world are crying the same tune. How many do you think? Here is the answer. 97% that start a business on the internet fail an I was one of them. I fell flat on my face,very much in debt, ashamed to let anyone in on my secret.complete failure.

Here is another sad story. People around the world are still falling for the Guru's story, Why? Simply because they do not know any better. They are like I was for a long time. Hoping and praying that someone would give them the true story of how to make money on the internet.

Oh! Here it comes. Pay per click on Google. While that may be a way, get ready to pay through the nose, especially if you don't know what you are doing. How many key words you have to have, how often do you check your account? How to set the amount per click. If you are a newbie you may end up going crazy and going broke at the same time.

I guess I have tried everything I could think about to very little avail. Oh, I did make some money, but never the kind of money I was told I would make if I just would pay my up front money and let people know what I was doing "they would come." for most of us it never happened the way we were told.

One day I took a good look in the mirror. I said, you stupid fool, when are you going to stop falling for this crap? I looked at myself and shouted very loud, NOW, right NOW, an I did. I started my journey to get smart as I had already realized, Stupid fools are rarely successful, an I certainly had not gained any success on the path I was on.

A Reality Check:

When does reality set in for most of us? What is reality anyway? Unfortunately, for many of us, reality never sets in. This has always been a total amazement to me. We have this day, this minute, this second, and that is all we have. We do not have the day, the minute, or the second that just passed. Did we use the past properly, or did we let it slide by waiting and believing that the next day is going to be any better?

There are just so many wasted days and minutes in all of our lives, and none of us know exactly just how much time that we really do have. So why do we think any other day is going to be any better for us in our future, than the ones that we have already wasted in the past?

Our paradigm begins.......

to change for the worst, we begin believing that the future is not going to be any better than the past, this thought becomes so embedded in our sub-conscious mind that it will not allow us to ever accomplish the dreams that all of us have for a better and easier life style.

Reality then overtakes our sub-conscious and sets in deeply, and before we know it, we begin to ask ourselves,"Where did all the years go?"It seems like yesterday that we had this thought of doing something different,but the time was never right. All the other things we had to do always stood in our way.

Certainly, other people that have become very successful never had it happen to them,did it?

Well, the fact is,that it does happen to them, but their paradigm changes almost immediately.

Reality sets in very early for the successful people. They understood the years pass by in a hurry, that tomorrow was not going to be any better than today. They grabbed life by the horns, set a plan for their dream,set out to accomplish it, and had many trials and tribulations to over come, sometimes they were even told by others that their dream would never work.

They did not listen to those people,they worked harder, they persevered, they did without,they learned the hard way. What they accomplished was the mind to understand that, when reality did set in, it was time to get moving. As long as they were moving they knew that dreams would come true.

Someone told me in my early career in the home business industry that, "Somebody had to be left behind to pour the Martini's and clean up our mess."

I took that in stride, but I always believed that anyone could do what he or she wanted to do if they wanted to do it bad enough. I still believe that, but I also understand that many of us just don't want it bad enough.

I learned a long time ago that we cannot help anyone that does not want it bad enough.

We impose this question to you: "Just how bad do you desire your dream?" If REALITY has not yet hit you right between your eyes, then without question, you are destined for failure.

I have 16 years of many times hard knocks in this industry. In the early days of my experience it all looked so easy. Just pay your money to join, get someone to a meeting, usually held in a hotel which in some cases was a long ways away for many.They will sign up based on all the hype they heard, and in a month they will become very wealthy because every one they know and everyone they bump into will be very foolish not to do the same thing you did,and they certainly want to become rich just like I am going to become rich.

After you stand in the doorway of the hotel meeting room and wait for the people that promised they could not wait to meet you, you began to say to Yourself,

"I am doing exactly what my sponsor said to do, must be nobody likes me."

I remember very vividly driving 125 miles to get to a meeting and nobody showed up and believe me the 125 miles back was nothing to compare with trying to explain to my wife that things will change. After a couple of years in this routine the computer was getting very popular and I begin to see my chance. I was getting very tired of all the travel, calling people all day and half the night. This seemed like a hard way to earn a living and that is not why I decided t make networking my future.

THE COMPUTER AS MY SAVIOR

Hold on for a moment. First of all I had never sat down in front of a computer,much less know anything about one. I also realized that I didn't own a computer.How much do the darn things cost? Where do I go to get one? I knew from the beginning when I first heard the cost that I was not in a good position to buy one. How in the world was I going to explain to my wife after spending a ton of money traveling back and forth to all the meetings and sometimes having to spend the night a long ways from home, purchasing a computer probably was not going to be a good thing to do especially since she had lost all interest in ever believing I could ever become successful, especially in something I knew nothing about.

What in the world was I going to do? I certainly did not want to go back to the JOB (Just over broke)market. At this point in time I had worked very hard to get away from that kind of life. I was part owner in a Real Estate Development Company and I certainly had my fill of that. I just knew that I needed a change in my life and my determination was so strong there was no way I was going to give it up.

One thing I hadn't even given a thought to. I did not know how to type. I thought right then and there,maybe I am biting off more than I could chew. Too much to learn and I had never run across anyone that told me they were making money with this new way.

What a delima I was in. Holy cow, here I am, a person with a strong positive mental attitude about almost everything, knew what I wanted, gone through a lot of problems,excited about this new way of making a living, but at the time, it seemed like all roads to success were blocked.

I figured out finally what I had to do. I read in the paper the county was getting rid of all their computers and giving them away for FREE. Talk about a devine intervention. Some company had talked them in getting rid of their computers and leasing new ones.

I don't know if that was a good move for the county, but it was an excellent move for me. I well remember that day. I was like a kid in a candy store. I had a computer. Wow, wait until I let everyone know I am making a great living staying home, doing what I wanted to do, when I wanted to, with whom I want to. I later found out that meant...MONEY...TIME.. FREEDOM. Something I had dreamed about all my adult life.

Hi Carroll, how is the business going? Making a lot of money I suppose, right?....WRONG..

.. Of course I was not about to tell anyone I was actually falling flat on my face. Here I was with my own computer,trying my best to learn how to make this machine work, learning how to type, more things than I could handle and still keep an upper lip.

The one thing that really had me stumped for a time an I did not know what to do about it. To whom am I going to send any information to, to tell them about the wonderful company that I joined and letting them know I was sure I was going to become very successful. Naturally, everyone wants to hear this because that's what everyone wants. However, telling everyone you are on your way to become very wealthy when you are trying to get money out of them usually ends up in a bad way.In fact it turns most people off and they will walk away from you. I learned this the hard way.

OK, just exactly what was I to do. I really decided a good way to find out was to start asking somebody. Great idea. How to find that person? Not an easy thing to do. Everybody had an idea and was very willing to tell you if you had $597.00 + to send them first. I don't even want to tell you how much money I spent trying to get what I thought was helpful information.Most of them could not show you how to do what was necessary to do because they had never done it themselves. It took me a long time to learn who they were and through their slick vocabulary they were very good at convincing you that probably you would be shot at sunrise if you did not buy their product in the next 10 minutes.

I well remember spending $1,000 dollars on leads and never making a sale. Thank goodness those days are over. We are going to show you that buying leads and paying out all that money is not necessary. If fact we are going to show you that having people purchase from you and you never see them is the best way, and the only way. All of this will be set up for you. I must tell you this. Your business can be done anywhere in the WORLD you want to go as long as you have a laptop and phone connection. Money can be arriving in your bank account and it's possible you will have more money in your account than you had when you left for vacation.

Almost unbelievable, isn't it?

What did I do?

Very simple. Early one morning I was roaming the house trying to figure this thing out. I have always been pretty good at figuring out who was honest and who was not. So the decision was made that day to get on the phone,call every website I could find and ask a question. Can you tell me without taking up too much of your time how to make money on the internet and be honest about it? I have to tell you, I did not find much honesty in all but one person I talked to and he was almost as new as I was on the internet.

I was very fortunate in meeting this gentleman and we had many great conversations and almost everything I have done an accomplished came from these conversations. He told me, Carroll, I have a plan, don't know if it will work or not, but I believe it will. He promised to let me know if it started to work and he would tell me exactly what he was doing. He did tell me this. No matter what you do, be very honest. Not only is honesty the only way to go, if you are not honest people will find you out in a hurry. Telling the truth will get you more in the long run, and remember this, contrary to what some of the so called guru's believe,it's totally unnecessary to lie.

I did not hear from him for a few months, so I decided to call. Here was his answer. Carroll,when I have made $1,000,000 dollars I will announce not only to you but to the world how we did it. I will tell you that I am not far from that announcement.

Two months later he made that announcement. I did it, he said, now I will prove it to anyone that wants to know. It kind of blew me away when he explained the simple the whole procedure was. I all of of sudden realized that simplicity was the hardest thing in the world to teach. This I blame on our educational system.

Pretty simple isn't it. Yes, it is simple. When I found my mentor and he told me what his talents were and how he would help me, I said thank you Lord, this is exactly what I have been looking for. If it was not for him I would not be able to accomplish what I wanted.

Something I learned a long time ago, and this is something everybody needs to practice. The more you help people the more you will get in return. I practice this everyday. In the beginning I asked the question, why do I want to be a teacher? To be very honest for many years I did not know I enjoyed teaching. The reason being, I had never done it and when I first started I didn't know much to teach. After all these years I have a wealth of information that everyone needs to know. Why? Because it will keep everyone from falling in all the traps in the business world both on and off the internet and that is a very costly learning curve.

There is a definite learning curve that everyone has to go through to become successful. If you are not willing to go through this learning curve, your success will be much slower if you succeed at all.There is a 97% failure rate that start a home business when it should be a 97% success rate.

YOU BECOME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT.

Your thoughts will cause you to be rich or poor, loved or unloved, happy or unhappy, attractive or unattractive, powerful or weak. It's a psychological law that whatever you desire to accomplish you must have it so imbedded in your sub-conscious that nothing would change short of an act of God.

Relentless, repetitive self talk will change your self image. You can affect your subconscious mind with verbal repetition. You will find that constant repetition carries conviction.

Anything that changes your values changes your behavior. Begin to think of yourself as becoming the person you want to be. Self-suggestion makes you master of yourself. What you can project yourself to be, you can become.

I remember very well as a young boy having a fascination with airplanes. I played with them, built them, and flying was always on my mind. I never gave much thought what I had to do to become a Pilot. Playing with them and flying them I later found out was quite different. I was taught discipline not only by my parents, but also in a Military Academy, and in the USAF.

I was determined to learn how to fly and my mind was made up that nothing was going to stop me. I can tell you there were certain occasions in my training that I was ready to quit, but my determination would not let me. When I finally went for my first solo flight I was a little nervous but again determination took over and I must say the thrill of that day has stuck with me all my life. I felt a sense of accomplishment. I had done something that I had never done before an it taught me a great lesson. I knew that day that there must be a lot of good things in store for me as I go through life. I felt that anything I wanted to do was just out there somewhere waiting for me to take the offer and show the world anything is possible if you set it in your mind and never QUIT.

I have never been able to understand why 97% that I have run into that are seeking to make money in a business always have so many excuses. They can't get started now but as soon as they can get everything together they will be ready. I always say, that's fine with me, but do you honestly believe that 6 months from now everything in your life is going to be more perfect than it is now? Do you really believe that your situation will be any different if you continue doing the same thing you are doing at this time in your life?
