One of the biggest problems that home business owners have is pacing themselves. They think that they have to get everything all setup in a day. This is not true. Ultimately, what happens is they make many mistakes because they're rushing, then they get burnt out because they tried to do too much in too short a period of time. This article is going to show you, through example, how you can still get a home business up and running in a relatively short period of time without killing yourself in the process.
Day 1 - Assuming you're starting from scratch, the only thing you're going to do this day is write down all your interests and skills. This is going to give you a starting point for deciding on what business to get into. You'll then research those interests and skills this day and come to some kind of a decision based on which one you feel will be most profitable.
Day 2 - You're going to go to the domain provider of your choice and pick out a domain relevant to the niche you've decided to tackle. So for example, say you decided that you want to sell collectible toys. You might want to look for a domain like collectibletoysonline dot com or something similar. You want the domain to match what it is you want to do as closely as possible. Also that day, you want to find a hosting company to host your domain.
Day 3 - You're going to start working on your web site. You're going to come up with a name for it and maybe even a design. You'll work out a plan for what pages you're going to include with the site and what content is going to go on each page. You might have something like a home page, a page for articles, a page for frequently asked questions, a products page and so on. Each one should be planned to the letter as to what will be on it.
Day 4 - You will work on ONE page of your site. That's it. Don't try to do all the pages in a day. You will burn yourself out. You will then continue this schedule for each page of your site until they are all done.
After you have your site up, which shouldn't take more than a week to 10 days, you're going to start working on getting your site indexed by the search engines. As with everything else, you will take this one step at a time. Don't try to submit your site to all the search engines in a day. Take a few per day and continue for as many days as it takes to hit all the major ones.
This is the way you go about building your home business...one piece at a time. By following a routine like this, you do two things. One, you give yourself the best chance of NOT making any serious mistakes because you rushed through the process. Two, you give yourself the best chance of not getting burnt out doing this.
Take this advice for what it's worth to you.
I have found it to be quite sound for my OWN home business.
