How Can I Get People To Understand What My Business Does?

This is a more common problem that might be believed, and not only for people off-line. Subscribers and customers too can be uncertain about exactly what your business does.

1 You should, of course, have done yourself some sort of plan, where you state for yourself what the purpose of your business is. This is for your own clarity of purpose and thinking when you're starting it. You should be able to put that purpose in one sentence. You could use that sentence in your emails and on your website as a tagline. Also think of other ways to express the same idea to use in different places.

2 The information you send your subscribers and customers needs to be clear within the terms of what your business does. For example, your subscribers should receive stuff about your niche or a topic in it. It should be obvious why they're receiving that type of information and not some other type. Otherwise, they will be confused about what is happening which leads to confusion about what actions you want them to take in terms of your products.

3 The more you can personally respond to people, on your list or blog, the more you can explain what you're about. Also, the more you can relate your work to their needs and wants. As their understanding increases, or is increasingly established, then the more they're likely to stay with you and buy your products. This is just another way of seeing serving customers as a priority.
