How Much Can I Earn Working From Home?

Many people will tell you that by working from home you can only earn enough to save up for odd treats. On the other hand, many people are very successful at home working and I have supported my family since 2003 purely through my home working. So to say you cannot earn a living is certainly not true.

But, there is an important factor in all of this that many people do not consider. Both those making comments and those asking the question. And that factor is simple:

What have you to offer?

If you have a skill, an experience or something else to offer to people and you are willing to dedicate yourself to the pursuit of this skill then you can make a living. And in some cases, this can be a very healthy living and on the road to being very rich.

But if you have nothing to offer, then you might struggle to make an income that you can live off.

Having said that, what you can offer is probably more than you might realise. It just takes a bit of imagination and time to think about what you could offer and once you settle on an idea, you could be on your way.

Think through your experiences. If you are a financial advisor or something along those lines then you have a really useful tool at your fingertips blogging about your ideas and earning through affiliate schemes and Pay Per Click. But you do not need to reach those levels to be successful. Maybe you have recently been on the other side of the coin and escaped a debt trap. There are probably lots of other people that would like to read about how you got out of debt and back on track and you can monetise your writings in the same way.

Obviously, if you have a skill you can carry out at home such as a programmer, a photographer or illustrator and so on then you are well under way. But if your only hope of earning is taking a few paid surveys or you are hoping to create a paid blog with no other avenues of the blog to write with, then you are going to struggle to find a good income.

So how much can you earn working from home? It all depends what you have to offer. Maybe a small amount if you have nothing to offer, maybe a huge amount if you have a skill to put to use.
