The internet has taken control of virtually every aspect of modern day life. This is especially evident in the business world where many companies use the advantages that the internet has to offer to increase profitability and increase efficiencies.

One of the biggest evidences of how much the internet is impacting the way things work is to look at how students are trained to use it in upper level education. Students today are learning things very differently than they did twenty years ago since you were probably in college. In schools today, computer classes are mandatory and by that it means that kids are learning far more than just how to type and what a hard drive is. All students in business programs at any credible institution are going to be learning how to design spreadsheets and create databases. These are essential functions in virtually every field and so they are taught in school.

No matter what someone is studying they are going to get a job working for someone somewhere. This means that whoever they work for is going to have a web site. In schools today most students learn the basics of computer programming and website design so that they can at least converse on a reasonable level with web designers and computer technicians.

Another key aspect is how integrated the internet is in everything. Many classes no longer have a classroom but are taught completely online. These courses may be broadcast all over the world serving literally thousands.
