Is there such thing as a Legitimate online job? The state of the economy has caused many to be forced to work less hours, take mandatory days off without pay, or even lose their job. More and more families are looking for ways to supplement their income. While there are many good legitimate online job opportunities, there seems to be twice as many sketchy online job promotions popping up on the web every day. You may ask how do you weed out the scams from the legitimate. It may not be as easy as one would think, but here are a few key things you can ask or do to help you decide.

1. Does the job sound too good to be true?

Then it probably is, but not always(outrageous earnings with minimal work)

2. Do they have any positive or negative feedback about their claims?

(Search internet for articles, comments, forums on the online opportunity)

3. Testimonials

(real testimonials are important, but can be specifically selected to positively endorse the opportunity and leave out any negative thoughts)

4. Do you know someone or heard someone talk about the great online job they are doing and how it has changed their life?

(Word of mouth is still and always will be the best way to get unbiased feedback, especially if it is family or someone you trust)

Ultimately, it is always good to be skeptical and to do your homework when venturing into the online job market. There are many legitimate online opportunities on the web, so do not be discouraged because you had a bad experience with one opportunity. If you have to be at home during the day because you have childcare issues, transportation issues, or any other reason and need to supplement your family's income, then a legitimate online job could be for you. The price of gas alone could drive many to find alternatives online.

I am not a financial specialist, but I do not see the economy getting better anytime soon. It will slowly climb back up, but the job market will not fully recover for a long time. If you are fortunate to have a good job and no financial struggles then you are the minority right now and should count your blessings. the majority of us out there are struggling to keep our ship above the waterline and will be thankful for any opportunity we can get to help our family.
