Without your visitors, customers and subscribers you don't have a business, which is easy to forget if your business takes off and you shift your focus to developing even further. The basic requirement is that you provide what your customers want. You can't do that, and you damage your business, if you lose that focus.

1 It's OK using the jargon of your niche if everyone else does, and the jargon is generally understood. It can be the other way round, where technical terms are only used by those with such interests, while your potential customers simply want a product that does stuff for them in some way. Whichever way round it is, you have to use the same language as your potential customers. It's your means of communication and persuasion. If they don't understand what you're saying, and quickly, then they'll turn elsewhere to your competition.

2 Make sure that every bit of your business is consistent with how you want it presented to your customers. Although you might want to use graphics and logos to give your business an identity and to impress visitors, really they're only interested in some basic things once they've bought from you. For example, they want to know they've made a secure purchase, that they can download the product easily and successfully, and that it will work as you said it would. If anything goes wrong then that's what people usually remember because it stands out so much, and you may have lost a customer for ever.

3 As said, your audience is everything to your business. Work out what a typical member of it is and what they want. Then, ask them in order to get as exact details as you can. From that information, you create your product, then adapt it to as near perfect as you can for your particular audience.
