The Internet has not only revolutionized how products and services are created and distributed, it has opened up a whole new world for entrepreneurs that want new opportunities. The vast majority of websites, some 95% to 98% don't make money from year to year. That's because few people have learned to use the Internet effectively. Internet marketing does share some things in common with traditional, off-line marketing, but the Internet has its own unique nature as a communication and marketing tool. Unfortunately, top business schools are far behind, or not up to speed at all with the Internet as a marketing medium.
Like anything, if you want it strongly enough you can have a prosperous Internet marketing career, along with a traditional business, and don't have to go nuts or go broke in the process. Just like people have to learn how to do traditional business models, you can learn the Internet business model.
