One piece of software you can by is SEO elite. This program is supposed to help you link build and monitor your competitors websites to see how they are doing. I have tried this program out and although it could be useful I have found it to be not really worth the effort. The way in which it helps you link build is that it finds websites which you want to contact and then you write a nice email to the owner of that website and ask them if they would be interested in a link exchange. When I have tried this it hasn't yielded very high reply rates. I think the reason for this is that the messages aren't personalised and people quite often ignore these messages. but the information side of the software is excellent and you can use it to help you find out about what your competitors are doing and what you can do to emulate their success.

The second piece of software I would like to mention is automatic article submitter. This software has a directory of hundreds of article submission sites and signs you up for all of the sites and then subtly changes an article you have written so that it can be submitted as a unique article to several different sites. Again this software has benefits and drawbacks. The benefits are that it does get your work to more websites than you could in the same time. However the bad points I could mention are that if anyone gets into reading you as an author then they will begin to notice that all of your articles are extremely similar and loose respect for your skills. Also the article websites don't like this as they want original content in every article. If you get found out then you may be banned from putting future publications onto their site.

The last technique I am going to mention is freelancing. This is what I consider to be the best of way of promoting your website without doing the work yourself, although it is the most expensive. Using freelance websites you can write down specifically what you want the person to do and then they will bid for the work. You can then choose from all the potential employees choosing from cost and feedback of their previous work as well as their portfolio. Using this method you can ensure that everything that you have asked them to do is done and you don't pay them until the work is complete. The most common jobs that people ask for are things such as link building, website design and problem solving regarding things that have gone wrong in your online business.

Unfortunately none of these are free but they could all help you in some way with your online business so they are worth taking a look at.
