Simple Working From Home - Getting Started

Many get rich schemes exist just to make the owner of the scheme rich. However, if you want to start a really simple working from home scheme then you can do so and you really can be up and running in an hour or two. The steps involved are:

1) Set up a free blog
2) Add some advertising
3) Get some traffic

1) Set up a free blog

Just head over to Blogger.com, sign up for a free account and create a blog. Two minutes or so after starting you are set up and ready to get going! The only question is - What will you blog about?

Sports blogging is very easy and if you are involved in a sport then there is plenty to write about. However, there are a lot of sports blogs competing for the adverts, whilst there are not that many advertisers out there for this niche.

At the other extreme there are niches such as travel, gaming and finance that can have advertisers clamouring to pay a fortune for the right adverts. If you can write about one of these high paying niches then you are well on the road to success. If you can't, then maybe you can research one of these and make your fortune with a bit more work?

2) Add some advertising

I suggest Blogger.com as the starting point for a simple reason. Not only is it quick and free to set up, but with just a few mouse clicks you can add Google's AdSense to your new blog. Sign up to AdSense and add it to your blog and this will be your method of income.

If you don't already know it works in a very simple way. Google reads every page of your site that they are displaying adverts on and picks from its huge bank of a advertisers those that are most likely to be of interest to readers of the current page. If your reader then clicks on the advert you earn a commission. There's nothing for you to be maintaining!

3) Get some traffic

Now the work really begins, however without the work you would not be working from home! Research your posts and add them a few times a week to your blog. Maybe once it is older you might like to slow down, but you are aiming to build up a huge library of useful content.

Now for free traffic unique content is good, but you also need links in. So check over those posts and rewrite them for article directories - or just post them as they are if they are good enough. Don't worry about 'duplicate content' here - if the duplicate links to your site it isn't an issue!

You can also ask similar sites if you can submit guest posts to them in return for incoming links and start leaving comments on other useful sites. Just do everything and anything possible to get some free visitors to your site.

Summary

So, to start a simple home working scheme that works, sign up to Blogger and AdSense, create a blog with some AdSense units in it and then start writing your blog and submitting to article directories and submitting guest posts.

Build Your Facebook Fan Page Now!

Now a days Facebook is one of the most viewed websites in the world. It has over 600 million active members and is the fastest growing website. More than 40% of the population of the US has a Facebook account...and this number is increasing every single day.

The key word here is "active". Facebook is addictive. People login multiple times a day to see what their friends are up to, interact, browse photos and of course to spend money...money that could be going into your pocket.

Facebook is now the third largest website. And there is no reason why it won't become the largest, most visited website on the planet on a few years' time.

With Facebook Fan Pages you have an incredible opportunity to get your business seen by millions of people. Unlike conventional websites, you don't have to wait for months or in some cases years for your website to be found by search engines and ranked.

BUT, you need to make sure your page stands out from the crowd. Because of the sheer number of new Pages that are created on a daily basis it is very easy to just blend in and not stand out...to have a very ordinary looking Facebook Page and not something that makes your visitors go "WOW, this looks cool, I HAVE to like this NOW!'

For this very reason Daniel Tan created Facebook 2011 Maxed.

With three magnificent HTML5 iframe templates to choose from you can be sure that your Fan Page will not only stand out from your competitors, but will also have all the bells and whistles that a normal website would have.

The best thing about a Facebook Page is the ability to be interactive...Your fans can easily ask questions and leave comments...You build a certain level of trust...people feel like they "know" you or your business...And when people know you and trust you, they have NO problem buying products you recommend.

So here are some excellent ways to get the most out of your Fan Pages:
- Interact - people love it when you interact with them. Ask them questions and answer questions honestly and to the best of your ability.
- Add an opt in form to your page. This way you'll easily build up a list of customers with hardly any effort on your part.
- Add videos - we all love videos. Also, by creating videos and adding them your followers get a feel personally attached to you - they know your voice and feel like they know you
- Add pictures - make yourself real person. Add interesting pictures if you can. Your followers will comment on them and increase the amount of interaction on your Facebook Page.
- Add content daily. Give your followers something to read every day. They'll keep coming back to your Fan Page this way. Be sure to throw in a promotion every now and again to make more sales.
- Have a good template. Super important. You want to stand out from the crowd...you want people to remember your Fan Page...

And Facebook 2011 Maxed can do all of the above and more...Easily create a Fan Page that is essentially a fully-fledged website...add a blog, add videos, an opt in form, affiliate promotions...just about anything an ordinary website can do and so much more.

It's time to go viral...it's time to go Facebook Maxed!

Using Twitter Tools To Announce Events

Whether it's a birthday party for the wife, a grand opening, or a new product roll out, Twitter is rapidly becoming the way to announce and invite. You could simply send out 140 characters to announce your event, or you could do so much more. Here are five tools that can help you learn how to use Twitter to announce your events.

TaWidget lets you create a customized widget announcing your events, and provides the code you need to add the button to your website or blog. TaWidget integrates with the events calendar Taweet, which publishes your Twitter posts including a description and the starting date and time.

DailyMile is a social training log for athletes. One of its many features is an events page. You can search for functions to participate in, categorized by running, triathlon, or cycling. If you are planning an event, add it to the page including a location. DailyMile is supported by Google Maps, so you can pinpoint the locale and publish the route in advance of the meet.

BigMapple is dedicated to the 5 boroughs of New York City. Add an event to show other New Yorkers what is happening in your neighborhood. Once the party starts, people can add tweets and photos. Search by address to check out the action in the area you're in. This is a boon to the NYC community.

PlanCast is where people and plans come together. This social calendar is easy to use and easy to search. Adding an event is a snap; just answer what, when and where. You can even invite some of your friends to attend. If you're looking for things to do, you can explore by category and location.

Hooopla is an Android application for planning gatherings on the spur of the moment. Just create, share, and enjoy. After all, you're not always sitting at home waiting for an invite. The newsfeed range can be set to global, or zero in on a 5 mile radius.

Upcoming events can be as frivolous as a pillow fight, or as newsworthy as a major press conference. Getting the word out is an important part of the success of any gathering. Once you learn how to use Twitter to announce your events, you can relax, knowing your event planning is right on track.

JQuery Selectors

What is jQuery? If you haven't heard of jQuery or had a chance to check it out you really should. jQuery is designed to change the way that you write JavaScript.

Using Visual Quickstart Guide's jQuery book makes things really simple and easy to understand. For those of you who don't know jQuery is a JavaScript library that simplifies coding a lot. Because of some of the function in the jQuery library code that used to take up a quarter of the page can be simplified into 1 or 2 simple lines. On top of that there are some other really cool features that are a part of jQuery.

One of jQuery's specialties is letting you select page elements so you can work with them. Selecting page elements is a big part of online work. Until now almost all selection capabilities involved the getElementByID(), getElementsByName(), or some type of for each statement which all work but are limited, time consuming and take unnecessary overhead. jQuery on the other hand goes above and beyond these methods. In jQuery your able to select by descendants, by children, by specific text, by attribute, by attribute value, and even by position all by just one simple line of code changed based on what your selecting.

For example lets say I want select all the elements with a language attribute of Portuguese. In JavaScript the only way to do this would be to add an ID tag on each and every element with the language attribute of Portuguese, which may not seem like that big of deal but if you didn't add it when you first programmed, it can be. In jQuery all I have to do is add this line of code:

$('p[language=''Portuguese']')

and then add the function or whatever action I want it to run. While it may not make things shorter it sure does simplify.

One of the most powerful selectors in my opinion is the 'checked selector, which lets you select checked check boxes and selected radio buttons. Using this you can tell which elements are checked and which aren't rather than the cumbersome "if value checked or if true" logic required prior to jQuery.

Here's a quick example:

Function count()
{
alert("You checked " +
$("input:checked").length +
" items.");
}

By entering this in a script tag and using the checked selector I can see how many check boxes were selected. The selectors in jQuery make it much easier to work online. I've talked about a few selectors here but there are so many more built into jQuery giving you a variety of ways to select elements.

If you're looking for a good book on jQuery you should check out Visual Quickstart Guide jQuery by Steven Holzner. Its provides a bunch of good examples.

Guide to Using Google's Webmaster Tools

With Google Webmaster Tools, you will be able to track various things, like the number of people who have visited your blog, the keywords that have led to your blog, who has back-linked you and the traffic you receive from them, as well as indicate if your blog has been hijacked. With such features, organizing your blog will be easier. Here is how you can use the tool for your blog.

First of all, go to Google Webmaster Tools. You can enter a search query to get to the page. Then, you will need to sign into your Google account. If you do not have a Google account, you will need to register for one. All you will need to do is to create an e-mail address and its password. Once you have entered the account, the page you will see is your dashboard. In the middle of the page towards the bottom, you will see a button that says 'Add a site'. Clicking it will open up a small field for you to enter your site's URL. Make sure the blog that you enter is yours because only the owner can complete the verification section, which you will be led to after clicking 'Continue'; the page would be called 'Verify ownership'. Your verification status should be 'Not Verified', so you will need to get it verified to enjoy the Webmaster Tools' features.

There will be several options available: 'add a DNS to your domain's configuration'; 'add a meta tag to your site's home page'; 'upload an HTML file to your server'; or 'link to your Google Analytics account'. Choose the option according to your blog's abilities, and there will be instructions that will guide you to what you will need to do to complete the verification process. The simplest thing you can do is to 'add a meta tag to your site's home page', which will require you to add the HTML codes given into your blog's template. Once you have saved the settings in your blog's template, you can come back to the verification page. Then, click 'Verify', and you are done.

How To Personalize Items In Your Life

There are plenty of things in people's home that lack individuality and personalization, but there are plenty of ways to make these items special. Some people may not care if they just have run of the mill items that lack personality, but others want their belongings to reflect their personalities and their tastes. Even simple changes can make a big difference when it comes to personalizing items. For instance, you can add military decals to things if you are a fan of the armed services. You can find stickers like this at a store that sells military gifts. You can also order items online to add a touch of armed services pride to anything you own.

Another way to make things personal is to add inscriptions to them. If you have a piece of jewelry or you have something wooden or metal, you can have the item inscribed with a personal message. People do this with wedding bands, picture frames, bracelets and household items. In some cases, people put a personal message on items in the home for insurance purposes. This helps identify items should anything be stolen from your home. Typically, personalization is done to add a special touch to something that is ordinary.

Colors are a great way to make something personal. If you have recently purchased electronics, you may have noticed that items that only used to be black or silver now come in a variety of colors. From MP3 players to laptop computers, you can now purchase items in all sorts of bright colors. In cases when something does not come in a color other than the typical colors, you can add a sticker or "skin" to the item to add color or pattern. This is a great way to make something that is common all your own.

If you are trying to personalize a piece of material or fabric you can do it with embroidery. This works great for clothing, for blankets, for baby bibs and for anything that is made of fabric. It is possible to do embroidery by hand or you can do it with a machine. There are even companies that will personalize items in this matter, sometimes for only the fee of purchasing the item itself. If you already have something you would like to personalize in this manner, many embroidery companies will do the work on items they did not originally sell.

Finally, remember that most clothing items can be altered to give them a personal flair. If you are looking for ways to make something your own without adding any sort of message, you can do so with alterations. This will make an item subtly your own because it will be tailored to suit your body. While people may not look at a clothing piece and see your name or a message on it, they will think it looks great and you will have added a subtle touch of personalization to the item without going overboard. This is a great way to make anything you own special.

Writing Ads at Home With No Investment

The basic idea
So what is all of this about? How can you get paid for writing adverts? Well the answer is very simple. You write Pay Per Click adverts, which generate traffic to a website, for which you earn a commission. I bet you are glad you didn't pay a lot of money for that 'secret'. You might learn some tricks and tips for optimising PPC adverts, but that is easy enough to pick up from various forums and sites anyway.

How to get started
The first thing is to decide what you are going to be promoting. Sign up to an affiliate scheme for a merchant that interests you. Mobile phones, sports wear, clothing, travel, financial products and virtually anything else that you can think of are possible options. By picking something that is interesting to you, you are making the work more fun and easier to keep up with. Once you are signed up, you will be able to get some affiliate links from the merchant.

The intermediate step
The problem with this system is that these days a lot of the affiliate merchants do not allow you to link directly to their website. Instead, you need to link first to your own website. But this is easy and free. Sign up to a blogger blog and create posts about the various products that you will be promoting. Add the affiliate link to the blog and if you haven't already done so, sign up to AdSense and add a block of adverts for some extra income!

The final step
Now sign up to Google AdWords, or one of the many other Pay Per Click providers. Create a simple advert targeted at just one of the products that the merchant sells and link directly to your post page. Carefully think through a few keywords that relate specifically to that product and add them to your advert. For example, if you are promoting red roses, then flowers should be avoided, but Valentines Red Roses is highly specific and will not waste clicks.

But here is the clever part. To make sure that you do set-up for free, be on the look out for free Pay Per Click vouchers.

Running the process
Once you are set up the main thing is to control what you are spending. Watch your daily budget and what you are spending and adjust this as necessary and balance this against the affiliate incomes. Make sure that the adverts you are spending the most on are resulting in plenty of affiliate commissions, else drop the adverts and move on to something else.

WordPress is free, open source software that can be easily installed on websites or blogs to help you create a great looking site. There are currently over 200,000 blogs that are using this software as it is easy to use and maintain. Its themes are customizable and give a pleasing look to the eyes. The software is extremely easy to use but people, being new users, still find it difficult to navigate through various options.

Here are some easy steps that you should perform to add articles and content to your WordPress blog or website.

1. First log into your WordPress account by giving your user-name and password.
2. You will see a blank page if you have not uploaded any posts previously. On the left side of the page, you will be seeing options like Dashboard, Posts, Media and Comments etc.
3. Click the 'Add New' button under the 'Posts' tab. A new page will open.

5. Under the title bar, you will see 'Upload/Insert' option and icons for image, video, audio and media. An image or a video is a vital part of content on WordPress.

Here you can see the options like 'From Computer' and 'From URL' etc. Click the 'from computer' option and find the image on your server by browsing the files. Click 'upload' when you find the desired image. If you want to upload an image from the Internet then simply copy and paste the URL in the relevant box and click the 'insert into post' at the bottom of the dialogue box.
7. The second box is for typing or inserting the body of your article. You can either type the content in this box or you can copy it from a.doc or.txt file and paste it in the box. The picture you uploaded will also appear in this box as well.
8. The third box with the heading 'Excerpt' is for the description or summary of the article. Here you can write what the article is about to get the reader's attention.
9. On the right side of the page, you will see the categories of your blog. Choose the appropriate category for this particular article.
10. Proofread the article once then either click the 'Save Draft' button on the right side of the page to comeback and further edit the article or click the 'Publish' button to post the article to your blog.

You can always edit your newly published article at a later time.

These are the steps you will need to take to publish your articles. I hope this article was useful for you and will help you in managing your WordPress blog or website.

Add Live Help To Your Website Or Suffer The Consequence Of Losing Sales

Think about it. Put yourself in your customers shoes.

You have 15 minutes until you have to leave to go get your kid from school. You decide that you will real quick buy a pair of shoes before you leave. You think about a website your friend mentioned to you, so you visit it. Sweet! They have the brand and color you want.

But wait, you are a size 9-1/2. All they show is either size 9 or 10. You think, "Crap, do they have a 9-1/2 and they just didn't get it listed on their website?"

You decide to contact them, and all you find is a contact form. You can't wait til tomorrow to find out. You need to know now. You have to leave in 10 minutes, and you need to order the shoes.

So you decide to head over to another website that does show size 9-1/2 in stock and make your purchase.

All right, maybe you didn't have size 9-1/2 in stock. But what if you did. What if you just received them today and didn't have time to add them to your website.

But it doesn't matter, because your customer is gone. No way to say come back. You flat out lost the sale. It's over!

This is a realistic scenario. It happens all the time. You may not sell shoes, but you get the idea.

If you had a live help option, your customer could have asked you about the size 9-1/2. And, you could have responded with "Yes, order the size 9 and I will change your order to size 9-1/2. Thank you so much for shopping with us".

Both you and your customer would walk away happy.

Here's some advice:

Simple Web Chat is a great [http://simplewebchat.com]live help software to add to your website. Chats are delivered to you via text message so you don't have to hire an operator to sit at a desk and wait for a customer to ask you questions. Install Simple Web Chat today and stop losing customers.

Three Ways You Can Use Google Maps on Your Website

Google Maps is a handy mapping tool that can add a whole new level of functionality to your blog or website. With this cool mapping tool, you can embed interactive maps in the pages and posts of your website or blog.

There are several different things you can do with this mapping solution on your website. You can give directions to your business and display routes you've traveled or plan to travel. Google Maps also allows you to highlight a geographic area and define boundaries.

Give Directions to Your Users

When you own a small business it is important that you let people know where you are. You could post an image of a map with your location on it but that's not necessarily helpful to everyone. Instead, you could pinpoint your location on a Google Map and embed it on your site.

Your users can then zoom in and out, switch between map and satellite view, and much more. You will also be able to add turn-by-turn directions to your business. All the user has to do is type in their address and Google does the rest!

Illustrate Where You're Going and Where You've Been

If you have a travel or adventure blog, you may want to highlight places you've been or places you plan to visit. Google Maps allows you to highlight multiple points as well as tours and routes. You can also add text and links as well as embed photos and videos to points on your route.

Highlight Special Areas

This mapping solution is also a handy tool for neighborhood associations or any other group with a need to highlight regions or boundaries. You can mark multiple color boundaries, label highlighted areas, map roads and so much more.

These are just three of the many ways you can benefit by having a Google Map embedded on your website or blog. There are many more ways you can use this extremely handy online mapping tool. These possibilities will undoubtedly continue to expand as time goes on and the system improves.
