Tips for Creating a Great Twitter Avatar

People who consistently use Twitter really like this form of social media. The tweets are short and to the point but with everyone in the 'Twitterverse' typing messages all the time, being able to discern who is who isn't easy.

If you want to be noticed on Twitter for all the right reasons then a 'must have' is a really cool avatar. If you don't know, an avatar is a representation of the writer. It can be a photo, a cartoon, a logo, or a graphic design. What it cannot be is animated. Twitter has changed its rules and animations are no longer allowed.

How Do You Decide What to Use for an Avatar?

First, think about having a photo of yourself. Lots of folks use photos. Take care when choosing a photo because some photos don't "show" well. When this is the case, you may not get others to click on your profile to learn more about you.

Don't use a photo taken from your phone. Use a camera and let someone else take the picture. Watch the lighting. You want your face to be the focus so good lighting works best.

Don't have a cluttered or busy background as this detracts from the photo.

Make the photos sensible and don't be doing silly thing if you want to project a professional attitude.

Edit your photo according to Twitter's specifications. All photos are made square by Twitter so consider this when deciding what image to use for your avatar.

Upload it to a photo editor and make adjustments if needed. Add color and shading if you wish. Make it interesting, but clear to see. Otherwise you are wasting your time.

Fuzzy doesn't work for anyone. The image should be clear and crisp.

If your photo is of your face, then make sure we can see it. While editing, zoom in, crop, put in a circle or frame or whatever you like to make it stand out.

Use a logo if you have one and want it to promote your business. But, be sure that the logo is clear and viewers can tell what it is. No point in only using part of the logo or words in it.

If you use text on your logo, it needs to be readable.

Be creative; try different angles, colors, and backgrounds. Remember that the focus is on you and not the background.

Having a good looking or unique and clever avatar will definitely help attract more followers.

Different Ways To Promote Your New eBook

An affiliate selling team
For the inexperienced the ready built eBook affiliate schemes that will do all of the work for you are a great place to start. ClickBank is a popular such scheme and easy to use. Sign up and sign up an account, pay the fee and in theory they then do the work for you. It might be a little slow at first whilst your team of affiliates starts to build up, but if it does, then you will be made.

Pay Per Click
You are going to need to set up your own website, so once it is done you can go to search engines such as Google and pay for adverts against relevant searches. Compared to the almost 80% that you might be paying as an affiliate commission you have a lot of spending power per sale, but nothing is guaranteed in the world of PPC.

The other problem is are the best buyers looking for something predictable? Do they know they are searching for your eBook, or are they looking for something else? PPC advertising can be quite limited and very expensive.

Search Engine Optimisation
If you can identify suitable keywords that people might be using to search for products such as your eBook then it might be worth your while optimising your website for these terms. If you can do it yourself then it is free and very rewarding to see the sales coming in.

However, it can be a difficult and never ending fight to get to the top of your desired keywords and you have to carefully identify your target keywords to be able to achieve any real hope of decent traffic levels.

Article marketing
This can work very well, if done correctly. Simply write articles on subjects connected to your eBook. For example, if you have written a golf manual then write a whole pile of articles on playing better golf. Then get these republished in as many quality article directories as you can find and write new versions for publication as guest posts.

The downside to article marketing - well just finding enough to write about and the time to write it. Watch your traffic stats to determine which article directories are sending you visitors and just concentrate on publishing to these directories.

Blog commenting and forums
Find blogs and forums that are discussing matters related to your eBook and start leaving quality comments on ongoing posts and threads. As other readers begin to read your responses they will see you as an expert and might visit your site through your signature and avatar links.

Creating Your Own Avatar For Facebook and Other Social Media

Ever wonder how people who leave posts and comments on blogs and Social Media sites like Facebook get those cute photos to go with them? These are called avatars or more specifically 'gravatars'.

An avatar is a representation of a person in the form of an icon. 'gravatar' is the more commonly used term now and it means a 'globally recognized avatar'.

When you create an avatar, you can use a real photo of yourself for instance, or you may want to use a graphic or caricature instead.

You can use these icons to represent you as you visit websites, blogs, and social media sites when leaving comments or when creating your personal profile. As you leave comments and make posts more often, your gravatar will become recognized. Others may soon begin to recognize your icon and may even follow your posts.

A gravatar may very likely become part of your personal branding, so if you plan on having an online business, it's best to consider what to use at some length before creating your own avatar.

In visiting websites and blogs, you may find some representations which are less attractive or appropriate than others. Creating a silly or inappropriate gravatar might seem like great fun when just socializing, but this could be a big problem if you are in the process of building a successful online business as part of your personal plan.

A business logo might be used as a gravatar. Be sure to check the sites you visit for their rules regarding the use of logos, but it's a great way to get known around the web by getting your logo as your icon.

Creating your own avatar is simple and can be done for free. It's best if you already have a photo, logo, or design ready to use. All you have to do is then upload them to the site where they are resized automatically to the average gravatar image. The average size is 80x80 pixels. These are then attached or linked to an email address you provide. There might be the need to have a couple of different ones if appropriate.

Once you have created your own gravatar it is then associated with your email address. Now when you post a comment to a blog and use this particular email address in your signature, your gravatar will now appear with your post.

If you have multiple email addresses in use, you can assign the same gravatar to each one or create a different icon for each address you use on the web.

The steps necessary to create your own gravatar are:

Select the image you want to use and note where this file is located
Decide what email address you want this image associated with
Set up a free account at a gravatar creating website of your choice
Login
Add email address you want to use
Upload image
Select image for email
Start posting comments in forums, Facebook, other social media sites and blogs and use the email you just set up with your new gravatar

Have fun but again, remember that whatever image you use, will become part of your personal branding so choose carefully.

Gaining new customers is half the battle when you are running your own business. It is often said that doing the work is the easy part finding the work is the hard part. This article is going to give a few ideas for generating new clientele that you can go to work for.

First of all if you have not already done so, the internet really can be your best friend when it comes to finding new customers. Having a website gets you worldwide exposure in just a matter of minutes. There are a lot of companies who find that the internet is so lucrative that after creating their first website they close down shop and move their business completely online. This may not happen for you but it will definitely assist in creating more interest in your business.

After you have established a site that is running and informative you will need to figure out how to actually get people to visit it. One key to this is having something on the site that people can spend some time doing and is fun. For instance on the website for James Cameron's new movie Avatar there are lots of features to draw people there and keep them there such as a personal avatar creator where you can use your own picture to make an avatar that looks like you.

OrangeSoda, Inc. ( http://www.OrangeSoda.com/ ) offers comprehensive orange soda reviews to all customers.

Think about Nike or Apple. Those brands are all over the sports stores and arenas and electronic locations. We see those brands and immediately know what they represent. Well, that's what you want with your brand on the internet. You want your face, blog and your business known everywhere and one easy way to brand yourself online is by use of your own avatar.

How Do I Create an Online Profile Image With Gravatar?

If you want your image to show up on websites when you make a comment you need an avatar image. An avatar is not a blue guy or a 100 year old child, but a website image of you. This helps people recognize you and develop a greater sense of trust with you.

Where do I get an avatar?

Most blogs use a Gravatar image, which is a Global Recognized Avatar. Other sites and forums have other ways of getting an image. Their methods vary, however Gravatar is recognized on WordPress sites, Google sites and many more.

What are the advantages of an avatar image?

Once you set up an avatar image on sites that use Gravatar, your smiling face will show up when you use your email related to your Gravatar image. You can even set up different avatar images with different emails. This means you can use a different email to have a different picture show.

How do I set up with Gravatar?

You may have already set one up. Gravatar has become very popular, so you may have set one up on a Google or WordPress website already. But having an avatar is important so you can learn how to set up a Gravatar image, and how to change your avatar image if you already have an image on Gravatar.

How to Set Up on Gravatar.

Visit Gravatar.com, beside the title is a drop down menu with log in / sign up. If you do not think you have an account click sign up from the drop down. Enter your email. If they say you have an account skip to the next paragraph. If you do not have an account they will send you an activation email. Visit your email and activate. Now you can skip paragraph about setting up an avatar image.

Logging In to Gravatar.

Type in your email. If you do not remember click the "forgot your password." In a few minutes you will get an email to change your password.

Setting up your avatar image.

On the drop down menu under my account select "add an image." You will have 4 choices for loading your picture. Choose the one that you want to use. After Gravatar gets your picture you can crop it. You can pull on one of the corner squares to make the crop box bigger. Click "Crop and finish." Choose your image rating. Some websites will only allow images that are rated G, some will allow PG images. Then there are other sites.

How does this help?

Now when you visit a blog and leave comments, your image is automatically added. People will be able to put a face to a name. This helps build give you credibility, because people tend to view a picture as more credible than just a name. The reason is people like to know you are real and Gravatar can help you prove it.

What's Your Closing Ratio?

I know a couple of guys who average a 50% closing ratio. That is sick my friends. They close 1 out of every two people. That would surely take most of the work out. How do they get so good at closing prospects? Really people on the internet are mostly just messing around right?

This is exactly the way they do it. They laser target their prospects. They sit down and think about who they are and what they are going to be needing, and most important, they are inquiring what are these people looking for? What is the main question that is going on in their heads right now?

Laser targeted marketing campaigns that target a particular question or problem is going to generate leads that are wanting a solution. A solution that you have to offer them. Now I've looked at some of the marketing campaigns out there that are doing this and they don't blatantly come out and give the solution immediately. The highly successful campaigns are creating curiosity. Just enough curiosity that triggers the subconscious to respond and follow the marketing campaign, because it is relating to that all important question inside your prospects mind.

After the campaign collects the prospects information, it reveals more of the solution to the question they were having.

The next part of the equation is probably the most important. Relationship building. The guys that have a 50% closing ratio are developing a rock solid relationship with their prospects even before they say one word to them. How do you develop a relationship with your prospects? You must continually provide valuable content all relating to the questions that are going on in your prospects minds.

Sounds like psychological marketing to me and it is. Notice that the McDonalds is conveniently located at places where people might be hungry? The food at McDonalds sucks, but a starving crowd will buy more food than anything else. You want to find the prospects that are hungry for what you have to offer. Now I know this sounds pretty easy, but how do you get it all wrapped up into a nice, neat marketing campaign, drive the laser targeted traffic you want, and eventually get the people on a phone, or to a presentation or something? It will take some work my friends and it will take commitment.

This is where most will fail. People think that if it doesn't work after one or two tries then it just must not work. I think that any marketing strategy or technique will work, but you must be willing to do what it takes to see your efforts to fruition.

If you want to learn more about getting a 50% closing ratio, read the resource box and follow the links therein. Expert Reveals MLM Secret to Success - How to Get Automatic Signups For Your Primary Business

This is so common amongst network marketers...

You start out your first MLM opportunity, your sponsor contacts you, telling you to write a list of family and friends, contact them and present them with your wonderful business opportunity...

You are promised you'll be making big money doing this...

You follow your sponsor's advice and eagerly wait for results, only to find out that no one actually joined your business. You also notice that a lot of people who are usually online, are being shown offline every time you're online. Those around you start avoiding you, even the ones close to you.

Why is this happening?

You're inviting people who are not the least interested in hearing what you have to say, let alone join you and your business!

Searching for an answer...

This happened to me when I started out in online marketing whilst promoting the first MLM company I got involved with. I was on the verge of committing network marketing suicide, when I realised I was doing it all wrong!

Funnily enough, just yesterday, a man from Texas contacted me through Facebook. He asked me to tell him more about my primary business. After talking with him for a couple of minutes, he revealed he had been following me on Facebook for weeks, but now he felt he had to make a move and learn more about my offer.

This was not all! He is actually already involved in another MLM company, but he still felt the need to connect with me and learn more about how I'm making money through the internet, working from home.

I asked the guy if he wanted to work with me personally, and he replied he was really glad I had asked. It was then when I explained that he was first required to join my personal team in order to work with me personally. He signed up on the spot.

This is not the only case of automatic signups I've had. In fact this has been happening on a daily basis since I started implementing different strategies than those shown to me by my MLM business upline.

The key to marketing success is to have followers. Let me simplify this concept through an example:

Right now as I'm writing this article, the latest movie 'Avatar' is taking over the cinemas worldwide. Why? What is attracting people, making them feel they have to see this?

James Cameron, previously the director of Titanic and other movie hits, is the producer of 'Avatar'. Through one movie after another, James Cameron was building a following. Each new successful production reaffirmed his previous success. So today, because his latest product is out, everyone wants to watch it, just because it's a product of James Cameron.

James Cameron has a following. Nicole Kidman has a following. Tyra Banks has a following. I have a following. This is what makes people want to belong to you. People want to be on the same path that successful individuals and leaders are on.

It all begins with valuable content. The more you give unconditionally without pitching anything on anyone, the more people feel the natural need to explore you and what you do. Raw psychology. The less you urge, the more they'll want from you, because of the content you provide and what you are.

It actually takes some time and dedication to produce valuable content without pitching anything on anyone, and without expecting signups from the very start. Nonetheless, it is still worth it! For a couple of months I've been building a following through valuable content spread worldwide over the internet and through social networking sites, without expecting signups. This however has led me to the point when now, I am currently getting about one automatic signup per day, and people from all over the globe contacting me, asking me about my opinion on something they're thinking of working on.

Funny, only a couple of months ago I was seriously thinking of quitting network marketing due to failure. Just before doing so I gave a last shot and signed up for a system which was supposed to teach me how to create a following. I just had to try this before quitting, and within just 7 days, I got well over 40 leads!

Every single day I drive thousands of people to see my business opportunity on my personal website 24 hours per day without pitching it on anyone!

You like the idea of automatic signups, right? Here is how to do this successfully:

1. Build a following;

2. Start getting automatic signups;

3. Contact all signups and build a relationship with them;

4. Offer constant help and train them personally.

This is the basic Automatic Signup Strategy. Forget cold-calling, seminars, bugging family and friends. These don't work in today's network marketing world. This is the primary MLM success secret revealed! This is how to get new reps signing up for whatever opportunity you're into, without even promoting it to anyone!

So, for your assignment, implement the Basic Automatic Signup Strategy right away, and watch your business grow by daily automatic signups!

Why Are Avatar Gadgets Growing in Popularity?

The use of avatars as gadgets on websites has really been surging over the last couple of years, and this trend is only continuing upward. Why use avatars as gadgets? Why are they so powerful?

These avatars may be animated or they may be thespians who have been pre-recorded audio-visually. They give a website a new dimension, adding a touch that is not just more dynamic but which makes the website more personable. People want to deal with and buy from other people, and businesses that have been using avatars as gadgets are seeing that proven out (as if they didn't already know!).

Avatars used as gadgets as stand-ins for an on-call staff. This saves money while also allowing the company to make more efficient use of their human resources and real customer service reps and salesmen. And, it gives that personal touch 24-7--and anyone in business today knows that they absolutely must have a website that is facilitating sales or service around the clock every day.

With the Internet's power today, anyone from many corners of the world may be visiting your business at any given moment on any given day or night.

What does research into the use of avatars as gadgets tell us? It tells us that this is a flying colors success! For instance, research by Stanford University's Center for the Study of Language and Information tells us that 90% of people prefer characters with which they can have interactive sessions. Then there is the fact that the leading VoIP provider Vonage has realized an astounding 93% reduction in CPA (Cost per Acquisition) as compared to the traditional multimedia advertising when the company has used avatar-gadget interactive advertising.

Human beings are visual creatures first and audio creatures second. We are captured by and we process information much faster when we can see it and hear it (think of humanity's love for music). We are social creatures and when we hear an avatar speak to use instead of our having to read and imagine how they sound, we are more likely to be moved by the message and the medium. People don't do a lot reading per se on the Internet. They do a lot of skimming. They only start really reading information when their skimming, or when something else, reaches out and grabs their attention and draws them in. And that's what we get with avatars.

Using avatars as gadgets allows you to select from various sizes such as 50 x 50, 80 x 80, 100 x 100, and so on. There are also different avatar types and characteristics such as: reality avatars; talking avatars; avatar spies; Japanese Anime avatars; and even avatar gifts and so on!

Avatars, like the blossoming and expanding Virtual Self, are here to stay on our Internet websites. You don't want to miss out on their use if you want to have a cutting-edge competitive website in the 21st century!

It's Time to Take Your Home Based Business to the Masses With Social Media

You've heard the buzz words social media. You know that sites such as Facebook and Twitter are trendy right now. In fact, you probably even have personal pages on these popular sites. But, as a home based business owner, how do you make the most of social media for your business?

The latest trend in promotions is the advent of social media tools that allow home based business owners like you to build relationships with thousands of potential customers through social media networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. These sites are no longer simply for people looking to post photos and chat with friends or relatives - many Fortune 500 companies and small businesses alike have discovered the value of social media, and have established a presence through corporate pages and consistent interaction with prospective clients.

As a home based business owner, you need to be there too.

Social media is a critical component of any good marketing strategy because it allows you to build online fans and followers, and develop a loyal base of devoted customers who can receive instant updates each time you post updates to your business page. Social networking in many respects puts the power in the hands of the consumer, and mediums such as Facebook and Twitter can provide you with direct access to consumers who are looking for your specific product or service.

One critical point to remember, however, is that social media is exactly what the name represents - a social tool that is only fully effective when the home based business owner to returns to their page frequently enough to provide real-time updates. Social media is effective when used regularly, because outdated information or infrequent interaction will cause followers or fans to lose interest. Home based business owners must also remember to be consistent across all social networking sites. For example, if you plan to use your home based business logo as your avatar on one site, be consistent and use your logo on every site where you have a corporate presence - this will help to establish your brand in the mind of consumer.

It's also important to consider that your ability to access and control what is said by your customers is limited; therefore, you'll want to ensure that you are monitoring your pages on a consistent basis to see what others are writing about your home based business. You'll also want to use restraint when communicating on social networks.

The nature of social networking allows people to build on-line relationships with others, which can lead to the sharing of too much personal information, particularly if you are already accustomed to using social networking sites for personal interaction with family and friends. A good rule of thumb is to remember the old adage, "Never write down anything that you wouldn't want to see in the newspaper the next day." Simply put, social networking sites are very public forums, so be sure that what you are communicating is appropriate for the masses.

The good news is that social networking can provide you with an avenue to manage your reputation and have very positive effects on how your home based business is viewed.
