The current economic conditions do not like like they will improve any time soon. Unemployment is still very high, housing foreclosures are still rising, and the job market is still looking bleak. So, now may be a good time to look at starting a part time business. It could give you a means to pay the bills, if for any reason, you lose your current income. Trying to figure out how to pay bills when you do not have adequate income, gets pretty stressful. So, where do you start? You may be surprised to learn that a great many professional photographers started their careers by shooting weddings. You may even have friends or family members getting married. With so many people looking to cut costs, you may already have a number of people that would love to have you photograph their special day. Just be sure you take a lot of practice photos before photographing your first event. A good way to practice, is to have some of your immediate family members dress up in white outfits, and pose for you so you can get a feel for taking images with good exposures. Take photos indoors and outside, so you can get used to taking photos in varied light conditions. Remember, whether you are taking pictures of a bride in her dress, or even just family portraits, your photos need to show good detail in all areas of the people and clothes. Bridal dresses are usually expensive, and the bride wants to see some nice images of the dress on her special day. So you need to be sure that your camera and exposure settings, capture the dress with all the fine detail. A good way to prepare yourself for shooting a wedding, is to go to your local church and find out when the next wedding will take place. Make sure you are there and watch carefully everything the photographer does. Watch how they pose the bride and groom. Take mental notes on how they pose the bridal party and family groups. Study the way that the photographer takes control of the situation, and directs everyone to be where they need at the right time. These days, not many couples will have a wedding consultant to help direct the days events. More and more, this is being left to the photographer. So, take mental notes on how the photographer gets everyone organized. In order to get great photos on the day, you need to be confident and make sure everyone does as you say. Otherwise, the photos will not be pleasing to the bridal couple. The true rewards of all the hard work of photographing a wedding, comes when you see the smiles of satisfaction on the brides face when she see all the beautiful images you have created for her. Your images will live forever. Generations of people will look at your photos, and smile and laugh at these images of this special day. The brides children and their children, will all be able to look back and share that special day, because of the work you did to create those special photos. Pretty cool.Tom has had a camera or mouse in his hand for more than 30 years. His step father was a well known English actor who starred in many films with the likes of Clark Gable, Ava Gardner, Grace Kelly, Maureen O'Hara, John Wayne and many others. One of his favorite movies was with John Wayne in The Quiet Man, shot in Ireland. He played the part of the visiting Bishop. After coming off set one day, he was approached two Nuns who thought he was a real bishop, and so the nickname "Bish" stuck with him from then on. He was an avis photographer, and taught me photography from the age of 12. He was a great man and a great mentor. I miss him very much. Please visit http://www.howtoshootweddings.net for more info.
