Tips To Help Your Sleeping Baby Slumber Through The Night

Have you ever woken up a sleeping baby? It will be a mistake you will not repeat as long as you remember what happened after! And you are not likely to ever forget the consequences ever. As far as babies are concerned, they decide their sleeping schedules. It is up to you to be ready with their basic needs once you learn their timetable. Newborns are likely to sleep most of the time when they are not feeding. Life for them is only about input and output when they are awake. This is why it is important to understand how to work around the activity that occupies them for the maximum time - sleeping.

Things to Know About Baby Sleep

* Newborn sleep schedules can become more organized once they are six to seven months old, though they will still follow schedules only for a few weeks. Few things are as changeable as a baby's timetable.

* If this is your first child, you will be slightly unprepared for just how long your baby sleeps. That is how they get their strength, so it is a good idea to ensure that their sleeping hours are peaceful and undisturbed.

* Babies are inclined to following routines. Make sure that the baby gets used to a timetable. It helps them to accept their next activity more cheerfully and gets their body clock in rhythm.

* For a baby, sleeping is synonymous with cuddling with mommies and daddies. While they doze off peacefully in your arms, the transition to the crib might jerk the sleeping baby out of its comfort zone. It would be a good idea to maintain the same temperature in the crib as the baby experiences in your arms.

How to Encourage a Sleeping Baby to Follow Patterns

* Massage: This relaxes the baby's tired body and prepares her for rest.

* Sing A Song: With a lullaby to soothe your little one, they are more likely to slip into their sweet dream world. Plus, the mother's reassuring voice is the one constant since they discovered the world outside the womb.

* Drown Out Sounds: No one likes to be left out. If your newborn senses that there is something happening outside the nursery, his curiosity will keep him awake. Give the sleeping baby a quiet environment to enter the Land of Nod.

* Watch for Signs of Drowsiness: A baby that is overly tired is just as unlikely to lie down obediently as a baby that is not very sleepy.

* Like an act in a play, soft sounds emanating from a musical toy can mean sleeping time for babies.

Sleeping Baby - Strict No-No

Don't consider pills for children. The natural mode is always the safest. Though it doesn't seem like it now, there are worse issues than losing your eight hours. Your baby will, sooner or later, sleep through the night with the help of your disciplined schedule.

Nine Things Baby Quilts Can Teach You About E-Business

'Every baby quilt tells a story' - I love the adage and use it quite often because it's true and I believe in it. However, when you have an e-store full of baby quilts the story you hear has a different dimension. There are a lot of lessons to be learned and here are nine of them:

1. To take care. Handmade baby quilts are not precisely made, and we would not want them to be. But there is a difference between being handmade, homemade, amateurish and just unacceptable. Too many irregularities and the quilt isn't fit for sale. An e-business website is the same. One mistake may be OK, in some cases a 'hand crafted' appearance is appropriate, but if your site looks amateurish or just doesn't work in some way, your product just won't sell.

2. To have patience. Handmade quilts take time to manufacture. I have had to learn to be patient and that's been good for the business. It takes time to build backlinks and a reputation. Many people give up too soon.

3. To research. The best quilts use good quality fabrics and interesting designs. I have learned to do thorough research so that I can get the very best for my money.

4. Not to be naive. There are lots of people who sell 'handmade' baby quilts of dubious quality. You have to learn to tell the difference. There are also many 'gurus' of e-business who will happily take your money and provide little in return.

5. To trust one's senses. To make a quilt you have to study patterns and learn the quilting process. E-business is the same. You have to be willing to learn a lot of new techniques, but never surrender you own common sense. There's a lot of technology in e-business, but you also need good business sense.

6. To persevere. Because a quilt takes time to make and must be made with care, some people abandon the project before it is complete. The same is true of e-business. It's tempting, once you have a store to assume you'll make immediate sales and to give up if you don't. But stores are like quilts, if you pay attention to how it should be done, failure is actually very unlikely, as long as you don't give up.

7. To make mistakes. You might not think this is something anyone has to learn, but when you learn any new subject or skill you usually learn a great deal from your mistakes. The most important point is to be willing to make mistakes; otherwise fear of failure will stop you from doing anything at all. If you don't make the attempt, you can't succeed.

8. To manage a project. The totality of a quilt can be daunting at the start; the only way to complete the project is to divide the whole into manageable tasks and to perform those tasks one by one. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. E-business is the same. Starting out alone, the number of tasks you need to perform is nothing short of frightening. You need to break them down into manageable chunks and work on them one by one.

9. To outsource. When you make a quilt you can make the whole item from scratch, including drafting a pattern yourself. As an alternative you can buy a pattern or you can use pre-cut pieces of fabric, or add a ready-made applique or embellishment. The choice is yours, though it may be determined by the time you have as well as your budget. E-business is the same. Although there are a vast number of tasks, many can be outsourced, depending on the time and money you have available.

The lessons are here and it's up to us to learn and to improve. Are we good students? We hope we are, but the baby quilts will have the final say.

Internet Technology Offers Golden Opportunity for Baby Boomers Retirement

For many Baby Boomers facing retirement, the future holds uncertainty and insecurity. However, for those who are looking to the Web for a way to positively impact their financial future, the rapid transformation of internet technology offers a golden opportunity.

With all the doom and gloom about the bad economy, government spending, huge deficits, personal bankruptcies and home foreclosures, it is sometimes difficult to see the positive side of things. The news media certainly doesn't want to highlight it, and people by nature seem to prefer to focus on the bad things that are happening to them, rather than appreciate the goods things and look forward to the future with anticipation.

Technology is advancing so rapidly that those who are not involved directly with the internet are unaware of the vast opportunities available to anyone willing to dive in and learn some new skills. Advancements in web technology like Web 3.0 - immersion into 3D websites and virtual three-dimensional conferencing, and Web 4.0 - intelligent electronic assistants making decisions for us based on information gathered from the history of our online choices, are already well underway.

Not only will the internet offer retiring Baby Boomers an opportunity to create wealth, it will offer them an opportunity to undertake challenging and meaningful entrepreneurial activities - something that was not readily available in the brick-and-mortar world of jobs and employment. Retirees will look forward to embarking on a new journey beyond retirement. They will retire to something innovative and exciting, not from something that, for many, had become nothing more than a "comfort zone."

Technology-driven change will enhance Baby Boomers dreams of retirement. The intelligent electronic assistants of Web 4.0 will render decision-making easier. Our "e-agent" will remember past choices that we may have forgotten, preventing us from making the same mistake over again (easier to do after a few too many birthdays). He (or she - our choice), will intuitively remind us of the things we want to accomplish, and help us stay on track. If we make plans to go shopping on our exercise day, your e-agent will gently remind us of our New Year's resolution.

Smart-technology will increasingly anticipate our problems before they become problems. Our "low fuel" light has saved hours of wasted time. Our GPS has told us about the car wreck that is going to slow down our trip to the office, or where we can get off the freeway to get a cup of coffee. That's old technology. With smart-technology, not only will our cell phone tell us where to go to get our favorite brand of coffee, but our coffee will be waiting for us when we get there, prepared just the way we like it (thanks to our e-agent).

Anyone willing to embrace the magnitude of the internet, and incorporate its resources into their plans for the future, will go places that aren't even on the cybermap yet. Simply providing people with knowledge and information about potential web-based opportunities can be the foundation of a profitable online business. Show people how to do something they currently can't do, but would like to if they knew how, and you will be in business.

Baby Quilts and E-Biz - Top 5 Differences

Although quilting and starting an e-biz share some common grounds, the two projects are commonly seen as the two opposite ends of the business spectrum. Discussing their differences is not intended to glorify the one or to undermine the other and knowing them will not make you the Kaffe Fasset of baby quilts or the next e-biz billionaire. It will rather help you learn more about baby quilts and e-biz. Here are 5 differences for you to consider:
Process. An e-biz site is never finished and every successful e-preneur will vouch for that. E-biz is work in progress - constant adding, removing, rewriting and tweaking. More often than once, quilters wished they had this opportunity too. Thankfully, that's not the case; otherwise we might have never known the art of quilting.
Final Product. The virtual nature of an e-biz site limits its effect on our five senses; here is where the makers of baby quilts have the upper hand to the e-biz owners. Even the best e-biz site can't be felt against your skin, held in your hand, wrapped around a newborn or given as a baby shower gift.
Audience. Who you would make a baby quilt for is very different from who you would make an e-biz site for. An e-biz site tries to meet the needs and wants of a broad audience with already developed tastes. The audience can be selective, critical, demanding and sometimes with questionable taste. A baby quilt, on the other hand, besides being pleasing to the parents, has to satisfy the needs of the least demanding and most innocent customer of all - the baby.
Purpose. Quilting is not only an expression of creativity and skills. Besides bringing comfort and beauty baby quilts are made to show love and care, to create and store memories from truly special times. The purpose and the very existence of an e-biz are defined by profit. Virtual as it is, it is still a business like any other and emotions and good intentions are not enough to sustain it.
Tradition and Longevity. Quilting has been around for centuries and quilts have a long history of tradition. Quilting was known to the Ancient Egyptians as well as the Romans. It arrived in Europe in the 12th century and became popular in North America in colonial times. Throughout the years baby quilts went in and out of fashion but even when they fell in popularity families kept their little treasures. The capricious trends were never able to affect the baby quilts' heirloom quality and they continued their journey from generation to generation. As far as history is concerned Internet and e-biz don't have much to brag about - they are relative new comers to the world business stage. But I would not hold this against them; their dynamic progress and immense popularity more than make up for their short existence. However, I still find it difficult to see an e-biz being passed from generation to generation but I might be wrong. Only time will tell.

In a previous article I already introduced the similarities; now, you know the differences between making a baby quilt and starting an e-biz. Did you manage to figure out which one is easier and more rewarding? If so, please let me know as I am still searching for the answer!

Working After Retirement, a Baby Boomer Reality

According to a recent Del Webb survey of baby boomers, 72% said that they plan to work after retirement.

A home based business will have the advantage of earning while still appearing fully retired. How? A home based business should enable you to choose the time and place where you work.

Personally, the 2008 stock market crash turned my 401(k) into a 201(k)...I had retired early at 49 in 1994 and was used to spending 24 hours a day with my wife doing what we wanted to do.. Going back to a normal "job" would mean giving that up... something I was loathe to do. But what to do so I could stay retired?

A home based business appealed to me but it had to be the right home-based business. I floundered for a few months, looked at a few get rich quick schemes, before I decided on an Internet based business. That posed a rather serious obstacle, because I barely knew how to turn the computer on and off... E-mail, web surfing was the extent of my computer know how.

The appeal of an Internet based home business was the freedom of choosing when and where you worked... Anyplace with a connection to the Internet was a place you could consider for retirement.

I consider myself very fortunate in finding a service that took care of the technical aspect of getting a money making website up and running... and by money making I discovered that an information-based website utilizing my life experiences had economic value to people searching for information on the Internet. I was surprised, pleasantly so.

Taking care of the technical aspects of getting a website up and running has saved me from a steep learning curve... I quickly realized that most 10-year-olds knew more about computers than I did... I needed a partner that would help me through the technical maze.

Now baby boomers are for the most part street smart and realize there's no free lunch. There is no substitute for hard work, and hard work it was.

Now, I am seeing the fruits of my labor, and have the confidence of being able to stay retired in my current lifestyle. My "product" turned out to be my experiences in early retirement. I found that people are looking for ways to retire and spend less and still have fun.

You too have a unique knowledge base that you can share with others and earn... Working when and where you please. You just have to identify that unique life experience and take action.

Oh and the service I'm referring to offers a 90 day money back guarantee.

It's all about finding the right partner... I did, you can also. [http://www.frugal-retirement-living.com/retire-to-the-internet.html]Working after retirement. The First Step To Success In Your Online Business, Even If You Are A Late Bloomer Baby Boomer

Did you ever wonder why you haven't achieved genuine success? And why you haven't yet accomplished your dream, your heart's desire? Or why you always had such fascinating ideas but never brought them to fruition? It could be that you are a late bloomer! It's nothing to be ashamed of, but "How," you wonder, "do I overcome it and make something happen?" Here's how.

Not too long ago, I visited a delightful older woman who works magic with flowers. "Lovely flower garden," I told her, "but what about that one over there? Nice foliage, but no blossoms."

"Oh, that one is a late bloomer. Doesn't do much over the summer, but puts on quite a show come fall."

At that moment, it occurred to me that she had described me. Having spent nearly all my life planning wonderful projects instead of doing them, I had recently succeeded in realizing a dream that had been on my priority list for years. But it hadn't been so long ago that after having raised my family I was looking forward to my husband's retirement in a few years. Then when the economy tanked, our personal financial world was rocked. Until then, we proverbial "Baby Boomers" thought we had it made. The interesting thing is that our financial crisis served to motivate me to actually pull it all together and do something I'd only dreamed about until then, which was to learn marketing and build my own business that I could conduct at home. Online Marketing was thriving and appeared to be a natural, so I decided to explore the possibilities.

Our new circumstances provided the impetus I needed to develop my "Why" which happens to be the first step to success. WHY do you want it? WHY do you want to accomplish it, be it, do it, have it, experience it? Once you can define and passionately articulate your answer, you'll be on your way!

So I took that first step. I wrote from the heart, expressing all the emotion that propelled me in the first place. While allowing my growing passion free reign, at the same time, I tempered that passion with realistic expectation; then I pared it down, refined it and finally established my "Why." In one moderately short paragraph I spelled out precisely what my driving force was and I expressed it clearly, fully and honestly. Once I got over the first major hurdle by determining why I wanted to be successful, I moved easily through the next step, and the next, and the next. Indeed, like me, you will find that once you trigger your innate motivation it is similar to "follow-the-leader" in which you simply do what your leader does! So, find a successful leader and the rest will be easy as long as you remain focused.

Maintaining focus is crucial, so do not allow yourself to get sidetracked by asking yourself "Why did I wait so long?" Instead, simply move forward, recognize that some of us seem destined to shine later than others and enjoy the fruits of your labors. And one more thing: Don't be intimidated by the young people who have created the latest genius methods for Online Marketing success because they know what they are doing. And very soon, you will too! It's not necessary to experience a crisis (like I did) in order to spur you on, but you do need the desire. It is that desire that you will formulate into your "Why," which is the key to getting even us late bloomers started.

Remember, even those of us in the "Baby Boomer" category are still teachable and will discover how gratifying and rewarding it is to learn something new while relishing the joy of success in the dynamic and exciting field of Internet Marketing. All we need to do is take that first step!

Once you do, you'll want to find a proven platform that will introduce you to the leaders who will help you take the next steps toward achieving your goals. There's a great one that is leading the field; in fact it's taking the field by storm! You'll find it at LovingSuccessOnline.com

Asking Questions Can Improve SEO

Internet marketers use keywords to help with the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) of their websites and blogs. They learn how to conduct keyword searches for those specific words that will bring traffic to their sites.

Most use a single keyword to see what shows up in the search. Have you ever thought about asking a question instead? Think about how the typical Internet surfer might look for something. Would they type in 'Volkswagen' or would they type in 'Where can I buy a Volkswagen in Detroit?'

I don't know about you, but I'd search with the question and not the single word.

Let's experiment. If I do a search for Volkswagen the number of returned results is 114M.

Now if I type in 'Where can I buy a Volkswagen in Detroit?' the search results are 3M.

Admittedly, these are still huge page results but you can see the difference when a specific question is asked.

Let's try another. Type in 'Baby sitter'. Results = 18.5M

'Where can I find a baby sitter in Cleveland Ohio"= 108 K

As the end user, asking specific questions get more specific results which will narrow the search and help you find what you're looking for faster. It makes the process much more efficient.

How can you use this in improving the SEO of your website?

Put yourself in the minds of your potential visitors. What questions can you anticipate? If you were to search for the products or services you offer, what questions would you ask?

Now that you have those questions in your mind, consider having content on your site that addresses those questions.

If you are a baby sitter in Cleveland and have a blog or website, think about having an article about 'How to find a babysitter in Cleveland'. Do you think this would be a great way for search engines to match the search to you?

Other questions that a person might ask is 'What to look for in a baby sitter?' or 'How can I tell if a baby sitter is qualified?'

Instead of only having individual keywords throughout your content, anticipate the needs of your target market. Think about the questions they would put in their Google search and how you can provide that answer. Use the questions as titles to your posts or content.

When you are in a position to provide answers or solutions, you have a better chance at being in the search results. This will definitely help your SEO.
