The Mouse And The Milk

One day in the barn, some mice were running along a beam when it broke and all the mice fell into a churn of milk.

The mice began to swim around and around but after a while some of them got tired and stopped swimming. "don't give up" squeaked one little mouse."keep swimming" But the other mice didn't listen, they were tired, hopeless, undetermined. They stopped swimming and eventually drown in the milk

The commotion caught the attention of the other animals in the barn and they gathered around the top of the urn.

"You'll never make it, Give it up, it's impossible" they all yelled down at him. But the little mouse kept kicking his little arms and legs furiously. After a while the other animals got bored of watching and went about their usual day, sleeping, sitting around doing nothing and gossiping. Your Online Presence Does Matter

Last month the country was rocked by the tragic suicide of a young college student who had had his sexual encounter with another man streamed online by his roommate and a "friend." While the situation illustrates the dangers of bullying as a whole, it also demonstrates the impact technology and social networking have had on spewing hate.

Time was, bullying took place on the school playground. Now, the social arena of the Web plays host to a stomach-turning barrage of online insults and taunting, whether with real-life acquaintances or complete strangers half a world away.

I also can't help but think of the two students who posted the video online... what on earth were they thinking? Are youths today so desensitized to the online public free-for-all that they failed to see how this was a gross violation of privacy? While the students are currently facing charges, even if they get off scot-free the damage to their reputations will be irreparable. What employer would want to hire someone associated with this horrible incident?

This situation is an extreme example of online bullying. However, many of us engage in milder forms of online abuse that can have serious repercussions for our careers and personal lives. Companies Google prospective employees all the time, and things such as offensive blog posts or expletive-ridden comments can be a major red flag.

To improve your online behavior, follow these rules when using the Web.

Go anonymous where possible. While everything you post online is more or less traceable, you can avoid embarrassing Google search results by using an anonymous handle that doesn't reveal your name or identifying details.

Be respectful, even when you disagree. If you want to comment on a news article, sports blog, or political site, go ahead. But don't think that because you have an "anonymous" handle you can say whatever you want. For instance, on major news articles I often scroll down and see disgusting comments filled with racism, political intolerance, and name-calling. It adds nothing to the conversation-it's just ugly. I once heard that character is who you are when nobody else is looking. Even if your comments are anonymous, you shouldn't say something that you wouldn't say to a person's face. If you disagree with an issue, be diplomatic and state your case intelligently. Being vicious only makes you look like the loser.

Don't bad-mouth people on social networking sites. I'm amazed at how many people use Facebook to air their personal grievances, whether it's an issue with their boss, their best friend, or their spouse. Nobody needs to know your dirty laundry. If you have an issue, either vent to a friend over coffee, or take up the matter with the other person. Getting into a war of words online is embarrassing and reflects poorly on you.

Keep your personal conversations private. Leaving a short, impersonal message for someone on Twitter or Facebook is fine. But a full-on conversation? Save it for a phone call or email. The other day I noticed that an acquaintance and her friend were constantly posting back and forth on her Facebook page, even though their conversation was fairly intimate and including badmouthing other people (who could presumably see it). So tacky. If you were in a public space, you wouldn't dream of having a private conversation right under someone's nose-so why do it online?

Think twice. You can't be too careful. Before you post anything on Facebook, Twitter, your blog, YouTube, or anything else online, consider whether or not a) the post reflects well of your character, b) the post will hurt someone, or c) the post could have negative repercussions. Remember the guy who got fired for Tweeting about hating the city he was visiting on a business trip, only to get fired when the client saw it? And let's not forget the recent case of Juan Williams, the NPR correspondent who got fired for saying on Fox News that he was uncomfortable when flying with Muslims. If in doubt, leave it out.

Ultimately, when online you should aim to be as private as possible, while remembering that the Golden Rule extends to the online world as well as the real world-in theory, at least.

How I Make Three Figures a Day Online

Are you interested in learning how you can make three figures everyday? Keep in mind this article isn't going to be selling you anything. Everything you need to know is right in this article. There are only a few things I have to tell you before we can get you started.

The majority of people spend their money during the Holiday Seasons. Which mean's this system will only make you the maximum amount of money during that time. Keep in mind that there are a bunch of products you can promote that are seasonal. For example, you can use our system for Valentines day. Just promote products that people would buy for that occasion.

The second thing that you need to know is that this system will take you a lot of time and hard work. The problem with making money online is that people think it's easy. They think that all you have to do is just set up a simple website and relax. This just isn't the case. Which mean's your going to have to get out of that fantasy world.

The final thing is that this is a system. Which mean's all you have to do is follow each step. By following each step you should be able to churn out some money of this system. For the entire article I'm going to pretend like you don't know anything.

1. The first thing you need to do in my system is sign up for an affiliate program (Amazon). If you don't know what an affiliate program it's extremely simple. It's a program that allows you to promote someone else's product. In exchange for promoting that product you'll be paid a commission every time someone buys through your link. The only recommendations I have is join Amazon and ClickBank. With those two affiliate programs you should be able to find any product on this planet to promote.

2. The next thing you need to do is find a product to promote. Of course, there's a trick to this. You need to find the best selling products to promote. Don't waste your time writing articles about garbage nobody is buying. Amazon is the best affiliate program for this step. They actually tell you in real-time what people are spending their money on. If there's no buyers then your not going to make any money.

3. Now you have to check if people are actually searching for that product on search engines. If people aren't searching then you need to go back to step two and find another product. To find out if people are searching for that product head over to the Google Keyword Tool. This simple tool is an internet marketers best friend. Usually I have a few rules when it comes to this step that makes a product qualify. First thing I check is to make sure that the "Global" searches are above 2000. If they are not above 2000 then you have to go back to step two. The next thing you need to do is go to the Google search engine then type in your keywords with quotes around them. It's imperative that you put quotes around your search. If there are more than 100,000 competing pages then go back to step two.

4. After you've found a product it's time to rock. The first thing I need to teach you in this step is about authority websites. Authority websites are the ones that you always see in the top ten results of Google. Their websites like Wikipedia, eHow, and About. Each of these websites can easily get in the top ten results of Google. Why does any of that matter? There are two authority websites that can get you right on the front page. Just as easily (Excluding Wikipedia) as those websites. The best part is those websites allow you to write articles simply by signing up. Which mean's you need to go sign up for a Hubpages and Squidoo account. Personally I've always preferred Hubpages for reasons I won't discuss.

5. When you use Hubpages you have to check to see if you can get the 100% URL. By 100% URL I mean all the exact words in your URL. If the URL isn't available then you can go back to step number two. Alternatively you could always just add a zero to your URL. The second thing you need to guarantee is that your title is 100% keywords. The entire phrase that you found in the keyword tool should be your exact title on Hubpages.

6. After you've managed to create the hub it's time to write a high quality article. A high quality article is an article with 1000+ words, at least three pictures, and some Youtube videos. Always remember to add a "Nofollow" attribute to your affiliate links. Of course, I would recommend adding a "Nofollow" attribute to all of your links. The key to this step is writing a high quality article. This is extremely important if you want to get on the first page of Google.

7. After you've published you're high quality article it's time to get the website indexed. Immediately after I write any article I ping it using Pingler. This is important because the fast Google finds out about your page. The faster Google will index it, rank it, then show it in results.

8. After you've pinged your website you're going to have to watch your webpage. You have to make sure that it's in the Google index. If it's not in the Google index then you're going to need to build some backlinks. If it is in the Google index then I would recommend checking your pages health to constantly monitor if it's in the index. After about two-three months your page should have a Pagerank. At that point in time you should start to notice your webpage showing up consistently in search results. Normally if you wrote a high quality article and picked a keyword with little competition then you should show up on the first page. Normally what would happen is that your page will show up for a bunch of "Long tail keyword phrases" then finally you'll be on the first page for your main keywords after being ranked. Don't quote this as a fact. This is just what I've observed in my experience with Google.

9. Without backlinks your webpage will oscillate in search results. Normally what I always do is build one backlink from another authority website. For example, after writing a high quality Hub on Hubpages. I would write a High Quality Lens on Squidoo that links to my hub. This always get's me on the front page and I always stay there.

10. I won't discuss all the facts in this article because it wouldn't be on topic. However, if you find that your keywords are making you money then you might want to consider buying a domain name. There is another system that goes along with this that I won't discuss.
