The Need For Developing Strong Relationships in Your Home Based Business
Developing strong relationships in your home based business is extremely important. Having new team members join your business is like gaining a new brother, sister or child of your own. This relationship will have to develop over some time, but with some dedication on everyone's part, it will become a long and lasting bond. Strong relationships do not only have to be with your team, they can develop with other members that are associated with your business. Being honest with yourself and with others is the best way to grow and strengthen a lasting bond. The last thing that you will want to do is mislead others. This only brings the feelings of remorse, digression and irritation which are not a sign of a good bond. When you are honest with others you establish trust. Trust is the number 1 killer in most home businesses. The lack of trust will drive others away to seek advice from someone else and ruin your chance of ever being looked at as a leader. When this happens, your team will not grow together and your and their businesses will falter. Look at your direct family for an example of how to build a relationship with those associated with your business. Families start off with only 2 people. These two individuals will no doubt want to have children and increase their family size. Whether or not they have more than 1 child does not matter as all children are raised, loved and taught the same things as they mature. (Some families fall apart during this process, but I am going to only use the best example to get my point across.) During this process of raising your children, it is not only the children that learn. The parents are also learning as they go (this is exactly what will happen in your business if the bond is strong enough) and soon learn each and every likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses. This is how the trust bond is formed in the family. What happens when a baby is thrown up into the air and caught by its father? 9 out of 10 times this baby is going to laugh and giggle and want some more. Take the same baby and hand him over to a complete stranger, have them toss her into the air and catch her, and the reaction of the baby will be complete fear and crying. Why is this? The answer is simple; the baby learned to trust his father in the action taken and when a total stranger performs the same act, the trust is not there. This is why it is so important to establish a serious trust bond with others in your business. Along the same lines as trust, communication will be vital to your relationship development. Communication does not mean that the leader does all the talking and the team members just sit there and listen. Communication is a 2 way street; listening and talking. Take the time and listen to what people actually say. Let them finish their conversation interrupted by you or someone else and take in what is being said. Really listen to them and don't think about what you are going to respond with halfway through their conversation. Once they have finished with their thought, pause for a couple of seconds and respond. This simple practice deeply strengthens the communication bond furthering the lasting strong relationship that is needed for all to succeed. Your relationship with your team members, peers and mentors should be as strong as you can get it. There will be times that you or they will have to rely on each other for support or advice just as families do. Treat your team members as your family. Families that have trust, excellent communication and love will flourish. Treat your business as a family (everyone involved) business and your relationships and your income will explode exponentially.Justin McKernan is a successful entrepreneur and business coach training others how to market a Global Internet Marketing system (in its 7th year of operation in 148 different countries) with a high demand, high profit Direct Sales product, training, and support platform.
