Is A MLM Myth Dangerously Impacting MLM Entrepreneurs Results?

The myth is - "Anyone and everyone you meet is a potential distributor or customer for your business." In other words any person you come in contact with.. family members, friends, plumber, waitress at your local caf� and your kids soccer coach are all potential customers.

You can choose any popular entertainer, take Lady Gaga for example, recently Lady Gaga reached the 6 million followers on Twitter beating Britney Spears. Does that mean you could knock on every door in any neighbourhood in any city around the world offering to buy her CD and someone from every house would buy a CD..the answer is no, so why do a lot of� MLM Entrepreneurs assume they can "pitch" their products to anyone and everyone as an approach to gaining sales for their business?

The missing link that the myth tries to ignore is how an MLM Entrepreneur needs to understand the benefit's of the products their offering and the group of people that actually 'want' and are searching for this product. If they are �people willing to buy a product because it can help them, why would you waste energy ��focusing your efforts on your plumber �who is not part of your niche?

The next steps;

Identify your niche that are actively searching for the type of benefits you can offer.

Review your website, landing pages and content you are creating. Could the niche you identified easily relate to the content you have created? Is it clear that your product can help them?

Please note, you of course can cater to more than one niche, this means creating different websites and landing pages for each, focus on one group to start off with and then continue when you have the results and the time and resources to venture into new ones and keep them all separate.

Once you have identified your niche, test your findings by typing in the types of keywords they would be looking for if trying to find a product like yours. The results will tell you if you're on the right track if there is a specific need and how competitive this need is at the moment.

Even the most successful entertainers are not everyone's favourite so no online MLM Entrepreneur in the competitive environment of the internet can have any results with making the "pitch" to anyone and everyone.

What Do Google Zeitgeist Results Tell Us?

Google Trends is a very handy tool which lets you tap into Google's database of searches and allows you to chart what has been popular over a period of time. The tool allows you to search for a search term and see how it has performed over a period of time. Anything from the last 30 days back to when records began, which for Google it seems was 2004.

This tool is best used for multiple search terms so you can see how for example the number of searches for Barack Obama compared to the number of searches for Hilary Clinton over the last few years. It even offers links to news items when there is a spike in the results. Pretty cool.

What Google Zeitgeist does (zeitgeist meaning: the cultural, moral climate of the time,) is chart the global search trends for the last few years. The 'year-end zeitgeist' section offers the following as the top gaining searched terms for these years.
