I've been seeing a lot of free business opportunities where you aren't required to sponsor or sell because the up-line is going to do it for you. In this article, I am going to discuss the validity of these opportunities. Business is about making money. Nothing evil about that. It just is. In order to make money, a business must provide something of value to their prospective customers. Just how valuable is a free home business? Many people will not take it seriously and so its value as an initial offer is quite low. People are way too cynical with all the scams they've either experienced or heard about to accept money for nothing. If they weren't, the market would be saturated with everyone in the free home business. Thank goodness for cynical people! It makes for better business.

People offering the free home base business opportunity would have overhead setting you up and would need to recoup that overhead in some way. Business is no different, it requires a lot of good, hard work; more in the beginning than later perhaps, but a determined effort nevertheless. In these times where your typical employment and investment opportunities are becoming less reliable, we find the perfect opportunity for people to fan their entrepreneurial spark and build their own real business with a good, solid determined effort.

A real business opportunity needs to have a product or service of value to the consumer. For most of that time things were done in a very particular way. If it takes you 10 sales calls to make 1 sale and it takes 1 hour to make 10 sales calls over the phone, or 1 hour to make just 1 sales call in person. Well, you do the math. I'm sure that conducting business meetings in hotels was not far behind. Now you could invite 100 people to one meeting and if they all showed up you could earn in one day what you used to make all year. Things were starting to get easier. Or were they?

This warm/luke warm market approach often times began with prospecting your friends and family and then asking for referrals. Some business is still conducted that way today. For some reason though when it comes to network marketing this concept makes many people feel very uncomfortable. Perhaps, what they say is true. "Don't mix business with pleasure". It should also be noted that the current warm market methods of network marketing have a 97% failure rate. This is not my opinion but actual data. One of the definitions of insanity is "doing the same thing again and again, but expecting a different result" Well if 97% of the people that get started in network marketing are doing the same thing and 97% are failing, isn't it crazy to do the same thing, but to expect a different result. You basically have a 3% chance of success. If someone told you to jump out of a plane with a parachute, but said that you have a 3% chance of making to ground in one piece, would you do it? The answer is obvious.

So why do so many people still try to build their business in the fashion? That is a great question and I don't have an answer other than they just don't know any better. Hopefully this article will fall into the right hands at the right time and give some people an alternative way of building a network marketing business. Like other MLM compensation plans the majority of your income is earned through residual income. This is the income you earn from your downline. So the better you train your downline the better they will perform. And if they perform well, this means your residual income will increase. So it's very important that you're a person that can motivate your team and create a training system that duplicates success.

Now the commissions can range from 2 to 20 percent based on your sales performance, your team's sales performance, and the size of your team. These are the typical MLM factors that determine your financial performance.

There is a back office with the purchase of the website which costs $19.99 per month. As a distributor, you can track your customers and your downline. Also through FHTM's training site, they offer webinars lead by established leaders in the industry so that distributors can further advance themselves in their business.

Also, you will get one on one training with your sponsor. The training is different from sponsor to sponsor. So no matter what business you join, it is very important that you find the right coach to sponsor you. You want to continually ask questions to see which person's attitude, personality, and training methods best fit your style. No matter how great an opportunity is it won't matter at all if you don't find the right trainer to show you the right marketing techniques to succeed in this competitive industry.

FHTM is still using a strategy called the "Warm" market approach. This means that when you first start your MLM business, you first try to recruit your friends and family to get your business up and running. The thought is that because you know these people they will trust you and therefore more likely to sign up with you. This is not the best approach. Some people will either pretend they like what you're doing or you'll just end up ruining a perfectly good relationship. If you're willing to take that risk, it's totally up to you. That is a major challenge as every network marketer wants to build a large organization for the huge paycheck and it may be inherently limited by the company's ability to deliver the calls. Additionally, every product as an on-air life cycle, so new products need to be introduced to keep the calls flowing.

This business model merges to very dynamic and interesting concepts that bring about their own unique set of problems once combined. If you view this business as a conventional network marketing opportunity without the expectation of the live call system performing miracles for your business you'll be just fine.

MLM Training - The Law of Ratios

When it comes to Network Marketing, whether it be online or offline, knowledge is your key to success. There is a immeasurable sea of information out there, and it indeed takes time to soak it all in, but there are some slices of wisdom that you need to understand from the start.
This nugget is called the Law of Ratios. The Law says that out of a set number of people you talk to about your business, a certain percentage of them will give you the time of day, and a smaller percentage will actually join your company/buy your product.
Now, I was fortunate when I first started, because the very first person I talked to about my business signed up, so my ratio was 1/1. After him, though, that percentage dropped drastically. Most people usually come to find that the general ratio, when talking to people face to face, is about 1/10, meaning that out of every 10 people you talk to, 1 will join. Now that you have a ratio to go off of, if your goal is to sponsor 5 individuals into your company per month, you must talk to at least 50 people every month to obtain your goal. Now, those ratios will improve over time, because you will get better at your presentation, but for now, you need to have a starting point.
The power of knowing your ratios comes into play, when you are trying to meet your monthly income goals. As a novice, it will also give you the edge you need to succeed. If you want to out preform a colleague, whose average is 8/10, then while he is out talking to 10 people, and signing up 8; you will be motivated to go speak to 90 people, giving you 9 sponsors.
When it comes to getting leads online, the calculations are much different. A lot of Industry Leaders will tell you that for every 100 people you get to your website (assuming you have a good site, and a good product/company), 10 might hang around to find out more, and 1 will end up joining you in your company. Now, at first glance, those numbers seem way too lofty to make your venture online worthwhile, but if you have a system that is providing you 50 leads per day, then you will get the needed 100 leads every two days to give you 1 sponsored distributor. While you can do anything, no one can do everything. Here are 5 tasks that you can delegate to a trained virtual assistant who can collaborate and partner with you for your business success.

E-newsletters. Do you struggle to get out an email newsletter to your customers, your monthly recognition report to your team members in a timely fashion? A VA can lend her expertise to setting up a newsletter with timely, relevant information that gets to your customers. This could be a template set up in Constant Contact that can be refreshed with new content for each new edition. This can result in more consistent sales, bookings, leads and referrals. She can also help you recognize your team members' successes on a consistent and regular basis with a team recognition report.

Personal Website Updating. A VA can keep your website content fresh and relevant for your customers and team members. This can include timely news items applicable to your current promotions and programs and online party setup.

Calendar Management. Let your VA manage not only your appointments on your calendar, but also keep track of the deadlines of promotions and programs that are pertinent to your customers and team members. Your VA can use Google Calendar to manage your appointments and deadlines and you have the ability to sync it with Outlook.

Working with a virtual assistant works best when you form a long-term, collaborative partnership. The best VAs are the ones who fully understand your business as much as you do. They are not there for a single project; they see the big picture and can think long-term. They know that when your business is successful, their business is successful. It may be hard to let go of some of your administrative tasks in your business, but the more you can delegate to your VA, the more time you have for the things you love to do and the things you are good at. Making money online is something many people still believe to be impossible or simply part of the hype sold by some folks out there.

It is safe to say that the whole concept of making money online has been hyped up a lot (in fact more than it should have), which has lead to many people being disappointed at the very idea of working to make a living on the internet.

But, however true that may be, it is also true that if you know your way around the web (and I do not mean in "guru like way") you can do a lot with very little, and this is where pursuing the goal of making money online is simply a thing of beauty.

You see, the problem is that building a business online is work, it is less work and it is less risk (because you hardly need any money to start) but it is still work and the secret to be successful is not being the smartest, or the most skilled, or the savviest internet person, but to be constant and persistent.

In order to make money online you do not need to be gifted, all really need is the will to commit a portion of your day, every day, to add something aimed at completing and/or improving your project or projects.

The reason most people never see a dime when trying to make money online is because they go ahead and purchase some random e-book or training course and then they either put it in a drawer or they simply work on it for a few days until they abandon it because they did not make any money.

One of the advantages of doing business online is that you can build a profitable infrastructure almost overnight. Indeed, in some cases I have made a profit from websites or blogs that are 3 days old, but that does not mean that this will always be the case.

You will only achieve actual results and consistency by being constantly working on your business and being persistent, particularly in your early stages.
