A few years ago when I was a newbie in the home based business arena I approached my friends and family. At the time that is exactly what my up line had recommended, and not knowing any better, that is exactly what I did. Well, my family and friends thought I was absolutely nuts. First, my family would ask me how much money I was making, which was followed by "Um, well I have only been in a few days." Next, my friends would ask me how much it cost and of course I would tell them and they would look at me in pity as if they didn't have the heart to tell me I had clearly been taken advantage of.

Needless to say, not one of my friends and family signed up and it undoubtedly led to the avoidance of them all together down the road. I was embarrassed, and in a few months when it came up in conversation..."Oh, by the way Jessica, how is that home based business stuff going? Have you made any money yet?" Oh I shudder every time I think about how I felt. I didn't make any money, in that endeavor anyway, and my pride was hurt along with my faith in myself.

It is absolutely ridiculous to think that bugging your friends and family could be a solid foundation for ANY business. Here is why...

(1) They are Unqualified & Not Targeted

Most of your Warm Market is NOT interested in starting a home business online and NONE of them came to you...you were the hunter...THIS IS KEY!

(2) Quantity-

I don't care how many people you know, you will never be able to run enough numbers with your warm market.

I eventually learned that my friends and family were the last people on earth I needed to be chasing about my home based business. In fact, I think was easier talking to a total stranger, at least you don't have to look at them on daily basis, and if they say no you had the peace of mind knowing you were probably never going to see them again. A friend or family member, nine times out of ten, is unqualified and will usually make you feel rejected. Again, it is a sheer waste of time to bug, harass, chase or approach your friend s or family about your home based business opportunity. Making money online is NOT appealing to them.

Now, if you have a home based business and you would like to get your friends and family involved there are some things you can do to get them to approach you instead of you chasing them. Before you do these things I would highly recommend you research your company...know its background, who established it, how long has it been around, and the ins and outs of the products available. You can't sell anything unless you are knowledgeable about what it is you are selling.
Here they are....

(1) Wear a shirt with your logo and website on it...this will typically spark attention and they will at least ask questions. This will open door and could and should eventually lead to sales.

(2) Stick a decal or window cling on your car with your website and logo. Again, same as above scenario.

(3) Put your business info on your answering machine or voicemail. I personally do not do this but it is a good way to direct people to your site and your opportunity. They can silently check it out without your knowledge and maybe ask you questions after they have visited.

(4) Last but not least....Make Some Money!!! This will undoubtedly spark an interest in your friends and family and they will be beggin you to teach them everything you know!!

What are the starting costs?

This is where many misunderstand the whole concept behind Plug-In Profit site. Obviously Stone built it to make money for him and also to help his downlines make money from chosen programs, but there is no need to join all of the programs when you start. You can add your details anytime later if you wish to join any particular program.

Of course you need hosting, so HostGator is the only program you need to join when you start with your Plug-In Profit site. In fact, if you are not ready to work hard, I mean really hard, I would forget PIPS completely. And the whole Internet marketing thing as well.

You don't have to follow Stone's exact steps, it is just a guide you can start with.

The niche itself, making money online and Internet marketing, are very competitive. You will get discouraged and it will seem that nothing is working, but with time and hard work, your site will start getting visitors.

Unfortunately it takes time and that's where many lose faith and call the whole system a scam. But the same rules applies to any business online. However, it has to be said that there are niches that are easier to start with, but maybe not so lucrative in the long run. The reason that there is so much competition in this niche is that there is money to made. If you are not afraid of competition, hard work and focused action it might work for you as well.

So is Plug-In Profit site for you?

That is something only you can answer. Of course I could say that absolutely you should join and make a lot of money, but that wouldn't be the truth. Where is the school to learn all this stuff? There is one that stands head and shoulders above the rest and it costs about the price of a cup of coffee per day. However, I mentioned earlier that I would discuss only free things so all of the basic education you will need is available free through Google. There are also many companies that offer massive free tutorials and they even host your site for free. Go to places like HubPages, Squidoo, WordPress and dozens of other places you can easily find on the net.

How can they stay in business and do they work from home? Those little ads you see around most pages on the web including this one pay for the site pages when a visitor like you clicks on one. How much does it cost them to appear on a page? It is free till someone clicks on it. It is called Pay Per Click advertising. Most of these folks work from home.
