What You Need To Know About Carry-On Bags And The Airport

With the number of restrictions that have now been implemented in airports, it can be frustrating to discover that the items you carry in your purse will not be permitted inside the airplane. What is more is that there is a carry-on baggage measurement that needs to be followed. But if you are carrying a lot of bags, you can always use the provided luggage cart to help you transport them. Unfortunately though, a portable cart cannot go through airport security. By this time, it is important that you have checked in your luggage so you do not have to worry about carrying your belongings.

In terms of your carry-on baggage, there are now a number of prohibited items that you cannot bring with you. These prohibitions have been heightened with the event of the devastating 9/11 attack that has shaken a number of airport security measures and how well they ensure the safety of everyone. Before the attack though, there were already a number of prohibited items that were not allowed inside the airplane. It was only when the attack happened when more rules started to be implemented.

According to the U.S. Transportation Security Administration or the TSA, there are a number of rules that need to be followed with regards to a carry-on baggage. Here are some of the tips they share so as to make your experience in the airport a smooth and a friendly one:

What is a Carry-On Baggage?

By definition, this is a small piece of luggage that you can take with you on board a plane. Each passenger is permitted one carry-on bag as well as an additional personal item like a purse, briefcase, laptop computer, or even a camera bag. Despite the fact that your bag will get screened by the airport security personnel through an x-ray machine, it is still your airline's baggage size restrictions that will determine if your bag qualifies as a carry-on luggage.

The Contents of the Carry-On Bag

Every airline has a strict rule with regards to carrying gels, liquids and aerosols. Even if you are carrying a bottle of your favorite Victoria's Secret perfume or your expensive Ferragamo perfume, you will not be allowed to have them in your bag unless they are only 3 ounces or smaller. In addition, these individual containers should be placed in a clear 1 quart size, zip top plastic bag. Each passenger is only permitted one of these plastic bags. If you will be carrying more, it is suggested that you place them in your checked luggage.

Once you follow these regulations imposed by the TSA, you can be sure that your trip through the airport will be smooth and hassle free. However, you have to remember to put labels on your bags even if you will be holding them for the entirety of your trip. This is an additional precaution practice that will make sure that your items are safe and worthwhile. After all, these security measures are only imposed for your safety and security.

6 Tips to Success in Earning an Extra Income From Home

In this current economic climate when job prospects are few, and those that exist do not pay you enough to live on, searching for other ways to make extra money has become a necessity. However, this has become very difficult with so many business opportunities being touted on the internet. Regardless of how the economy is doing, the cost of living is always rising. So, how can one get out of the rat race with its ever-increasing workload and dwindling pay cheques? How can one choose an online business opportunity which is legitimate and has the flexibility to change and grow with the times, to meet your financial expectations in the future?

My name is Nile Yalcin. I'm a master marketer with many years of experience. I would like to share with you the 6 tips to selecting the right business so that you can achieve success in earning an extra income from home. I have found that these tips are the cornerstone to success. They are the following:

1. Choose a business you feel passionate about promoting. If you don't believe in what you're marketing, then no-one else will.

2. Make sure the business meets your needs financially in the future and has the capacity to grow. It should preferably have a compensation plan which includes residual income, an automated income or even better still, both.

3. Find a business which provides entrepreneurs the flexibility to run their home-based business globally, 24 hours a day from any computer anywhere in the world. You need to find a business that you can run from anywhere in the world, which gives you the time freedom to spend with loved ones and enables you to enjoy life to the fullest. whilst growing your online business globally.

4. Make sure it has the best and most comprehensive training on internet marketing which shows you how to create an automated, unlimited income. It should show you how to unleash your creativity onto the internet using the vast array of tools it gives you.

5. Find a mentor you can trust (again follow your gut instincts). You need them to show you how to duplicate their success if you follow their precious advice to the hilt. Speak to them to find out more about them. Make sure they will hold your hand until you succeed and will be there for you along the way. When you do decide to join them, implement every single thing they advise, because without implementing their training, you are bound to fail. A good mentor will show you how to become a master marketer, using marketing techniques to market just about anything on the internet, whether you're already in a home-based business or a complete novice. However, it will take some effort and commitment on your part.

6. Persevere. The only way to succeed in anything is perseverance and working at the business every single day. Even if it's only an hour a day after coming home from work - do it. Here's an analogy: Just as a diamond miner must keep on digging to find the diamond - you must carry on regardless. Of course, every day won't be the same. Some days you may not achieve your goals... but you will definitely eventually get there if you carry on. Use your successful days as inspiration to continue - and plod on. So, carry on, believe in yourself and your products or services, and your contribution to the world.

An ideal business encompasses all the above and more. The time freedom, showing you how to create an automated income, that fact that you can do it from anywhere in the world, a good compensation plan including residual and automated income, and preferably high ticket items to sell.

Making Your Own Cool Tables and Chairs

I wrote a piece recently on cool chairs. It got me to thinking how easy it would be to set up a little business creating really funky chairs out of materials found for free or nearly free just about anywhere. It is a lot easier to find used industrial parts than people realize. Often these parts can be cleaned up, polished, stained or painted and with a little creativity, turned into beautiful pieces of furniture that double as terrific conversation items.

I owned a bar once upon a time and we really bootstrapped it. We were short on start up money and needed a bunch of tables. These tables also had to be quite durable as our clientele tended to drink and carry on quite a bit. I'll admit that it wasn't me but my partner Scott that came up with the idea. Industrial spools. We found a place in Montreal that sold and re-sold huge industrial spools, the kind that can carry a few miles of telephone wire, anywhere from two to ten feet in diameter. We rented a van and went down there. The place was totally fine with us helping ourselves to six spools, each about four feet high and four feet in diameter. We simply sanded them down and applied generous amounts of shellac. They turned out beautifully.

Here are a couple chair ideas. Go exploring your own town and see where you can find discarded wooden window blinds. Cut them to about three feet wide stain and generously clear-coat them. You'll need to cut out a support form which you should find easily enough on the web by searching for 'window blind chair'. Cheap plywood will do the job. Cut the two support forms and glue/nail it all in place. After a few cracks at it you'll end up being able to build wonderfully cool chairs that cost next to nothing and can easily be sold for $100.00. The second is simply an old steel drum. These can be found anywhere for free and only need a good cleaning and some clear coat finish. Take a look at the photo. You only need to make a good cut, cover the edge with rubber edging and add a cheap cushion and some $10.00 legs. Again - this should sell for $100.00 easy.

Hope you use these ideas to expand you're own repertoire of cool designs. See what you can find for free in your neighborhood and let your imagination fly.
