Online Business - 4 Common Mistakes to Avoid

A supplementary income is always welcome by everyone. If that supplementary income becomes your primary income, there is nothing better than that. Online businesses offer you some great ways to make money online. These can not only offer you side income, but may even become your main income source.

However, not many succeed in these attempts because they commit some standard mistakes. This is very common for people who are just starting an online business, and once they lose hope, they stop trying after that. It is important to ensure that you steer away from these mistakes to exploit the benefits of a good online business.

Here you have a list of the most common mistakes when starting an online business:

The first most common mistake that people make is entering into multiple businesses at the same time with the hope that at least one of them will click. The problem is that businesses do not click; you need to work hard on them. With so many businesses at a time, you are not doing justice to any of them and that means a sure failure.
The other common problem is trying to run the business by oneself without taking guidance. This is good if you have been running similar business for years, but if you are not, then there is nothing worse than trying that. Most businesses also mention how to run it successfully or have a plan to work with and if you stick to that, it will work great. "Not having a plan means that you are planning to fail "
Try to do everything by yourself and not delegate. Lots of people think that when they need something to be done in the right way they need to do it by their self. This is very far from the truth. There are a lot of things that we can do very good and like and a lot others that don't know how to do or dislike. So wouldn't be better to delegate or outsource the things you dislike? If you think carefully, the things you delegate are the ones that will get you success and time for yourself in the future. Sometimes is better to take the time to hire somebody to do specific jobs they are already trained to than learning that skill.
The next problem is setting very high standards and expectations too soon. Any business does not become big over night. They all need time to get established and start flourishing. So you need to give your business enough time to actually start giving returns. If you stick to it, you will be able to make good profits from it.Lastly, you must know that you really do not have to make heavy investments to make a business succeed. Some businesses require next to nil investment and can still give you good returns.

Home Based Jobs - Four Common Mistakes to Avoid

If you're new to working from home, or you're thinking of starting to do flexible home based job, here are 10 common mistakes to avoid:

1. Mistaking "busy" for "working"

Let's establish a definition: "Work" is doing things you're paid to do;

"Busy" is doing things you're not paid to do, no matter how occupied they may keep you. Re-arranging your files may keep you busy, but will that generate revenue? Probably not. As a virtual outsourcing freelancer you "sell" your time. Your time, leveraged by your skills and experience, is your most precious commodity. Many freelancers find they spend, for example, four hours a day "at work" but only two of those hours actually generate revenue. Streamline your processes and maximize your productive. If it takes you six hours to get four hours of "work" done, figure out what you're doing wrong.

2. Buying unnecessary equipment or supplies

Unless you have unlimited resources, you'll want to keep spending to a minimum. Your net income is, after all, the difference between your income and your expenses. It's tempting to buy a new computer, copier, scanner, or phone system, especially if you've left a corporate job where resources were plentiful. Only buy equipment or supplies that are absolutely necessary for your day-to-day work. Wait to invest in new office equipment until your workload picks up, or when a project requires that investment and the project prices makes the investment worthwhile.

3. Taking on too many projects

Winning projects is fun. Missing deadlines and disappointing your clients is not. Don't be tempted to take on a lot of projects so you can quickly build your portfolio and your reputation; avoid stretching yourself too thin by only taking on what you can actually handle. If you're good at what you do, there will always be more projects. Don't sabotage your feedback by biting off more than you can chew, especially while you're still learning the freelancing ropes.

4. Over-committing

Do you like to say, "No, I can't do that"? Most of us don't. Having a can-do attitude is a fundamental trait of most successful people. If you're a freelancer, saying "yes" too often can be a bigger problem than saying "no." Every project you take on locks up precious time, time that may be better spent elsewhere in terms of revenue and building your portfolio. If you can, make sure you choose projects that maximize your skills and your earnings. And if you don't have the skills to take on a task, don't say "yes" unless you know you can cost-effectively develop those skills. Learning to set up a WordPress blog for a client may be a poor use of your time if you'll never use those skills again. [http://www.mycareer.edu.pk]Home Based Jobs Opportunities in Pakistan

Avoid Being Duped in the Internet by Using Plain Common Sense

One of the ways you can avoid being involved in an Internet scam is by using your common sense. Well, that looks like a non-brainer advice. Who doesn't have common sense anyway? Yes, that's right but how come a lot of people are getting scammed in the net? It looks like some of us need some coaching on how to use our common sense specially is such matter as how to avoid being victimized by internet scam.

I think part of the reason we become susceptible to being preyed on by internet scam artists is the still seemingly mysterious or magical aura many people still continue to ascribe to the Internet, specially in the area of money-making. The notion somewhat persists that if you only knew the secret formula or key, something like a virtual magic door will open to you and out of it will come tons and tons of money - all the money that you'll ever need in your lifetime!

One self-proclaimed internet business guru even claims the simplicity of it has been so embarrassing he finds it obscene to be earning so much money so easily while other people have to sweat out blood to earn even a fraction of what he earns through simple tweaks in his website. The catch is he has to offer his secret for sale to the general public to assuage his feelings of guilt for having it so easy!

Nothing can be farther from the truth. The Internet is a virtual reality. As such it reflects the physical world where you and I live. Business laws that operate in the physical world are the same laws that operate in the cyber world. Study how you do business in the physical world and apply the same principles in the net. That will be the thing that will propel you to success.

Here are some pointers for the common sense that can help you avoid being duped by internet scam:

Beware of the so-called secret formulas. When you do business in the physical world and you discover a formula for a very marketable product, would you sell that formula on the guise that you want to help other people succeed by becoming your competitor? That would be silly of you. And yet how often do you encounter that in the landing page of an internet scam? You read of people who are supposed to be generating an avalanche of wealth through their system. If that were the case, why are they selling their system for $47 or $99? Use your common sense, avoid being duped, and beware of those so-called "secrets!"

Look at the product the Internet scam is offering you. In the physical world, you buy a product because you truly need it. It has some usefulness for you independent of any idea that you might be able to do business with it. For example, you might buy a food supplement offered by a networking company because you find it beneficial to your health. Even if you decide not to go to business with it afterward, the product has a value of its own and you can continue buying it. Apply this same yardstick to any product offered to you in the net. Is the product something you can patronize independent of any business proposition? If it is not, then beware. You might be on the verge of buying into an internet scam.

Beware if in offering you a business, the sales talk has a strong emphasis on making very substantial amounts of money within a short period of time. Something like generating $1,000 a day within one week, one month, or even one year should be suspect. You are being sweet talked into an internet scam. Much more so if it is coupled with an accompanying emphasis that you can make that much money with so little effort. There are, of course, legitimate business opportunities that also talk about generating big income. But the emphasis is on progressive growth not on getting rich overnight.

Finally, beware of simple office jobs being offered in the net which you can have after paying a joining fee. Common jobs being offered are data entry, reading and forwarding mails, etc. - really simple jobs anyone with some clerical training can easily do. Why would legitimate companies offer that kind of job to anyone and then pay substantial amount of money when they can just hire anyone on temporary basis and pay the normal minimum rates? Suspect this kind of job offers. They are internet scam appealing to your natural desire to just stay at home while performing a high paying job.

Applying common sense yardstick for identifying scams in the net can also help you identify legitimate opportunities and avoid being duped. They are the opposite of internet scam. Look for companies with reasonable promises like supplementing your current employment salary. A claim that you can perhaps earn as much as you are earning in your office job after one year and can perhaps decide to go full time with the business is reasonable. An equal emphasis is in performing systematic work that allows you to leverage through team work with other business enthusiasts like you. These companies also offer products you can enjoy independent of any business proposition. They could be at a discounted price so that even if you don't decide to go to business, you can actually save money and, therefore, increase your purchasing power by just enlisting with them. Joining these legitimate companies can give you ultimately the financial security you are looking for and most of all - when you are in a legitimate net business, you become more immune to the attractions of internet scam.

Writing Online - Full Time Job Opportunity

Do you know what is one of the most common types of jobs on the Internet? You might think something like, website administrators, marketers, advertisers etc. But beside these and maybe even more common is the job of the writer.

When you think about it a little bit, isn't it logical? Even with the technology progress as it is now, majority of the information one can find on the World Wide Web is in textual form. And considering the humongous amount of information, there must be a large number of writers making all of that possible for you.

As a result of this, job of a writer is in fact one of the most common on the web. That can be creative writing, article writing, technical writing and any other form you might think of. A good writer will always be able to find the job, and most probably make a fine earning from it.

One of the most famous forms of "web writing" are blog posts. There is no chance that you don't know what those are if you have even a little experience with web surfing. You can find blogs about almost any subject you can think of, and some of them are so popular that the authors are dedicating 100% of themselves to it.

Of course, this is possible only because of the simple fact that they are able to make money with their blogs. There are several options when it comes to this. The first one is advertisement; these blogs usually have some kind of ads on them and they are getting a small amount of money for every visit to their page and eventually a percent for every product sold with the help of their ad, this can be quite profitable, especially if blogs have high amount of traffic.

Another common way for earning money via blogs is from paid subscriptions and donations. Sometimes, these two are intervened as one, and it's quite functional since there are many people that would be happy to pay a few bucks from time to time to keep the blog they like going.

Some bloggers are making money in another form of advertisement. They are mentioning some type of product or business in their blog posts and supplying people with the necessary links in order to promote something. This is more direct form of advertisement.

This can be a little tricky though. If you want to have income in this way as well as from subscriptions and donations you must be careful not to intrude upon your readers with your advertisements. This might lead to the situation where you lose your subscribers and automatically your advertisements are worth less, resulting in you losing much of your income.

Overall, if you are creative writer, and people like your writing, with a little effort and patience it can turn good for you.

Membership Site Basics

Essentially, there are 2 types of membership sites. There are free websites and there are paid sites. These two kinds of websites have one thing in common. Their memberships are composed of people who have a common interest or share a common need. In this article I will focus on the paid sites.

Paid Membership Sites are set up on a Pay-For Content (PFC) basis. This online business model can be very lucrative but there are some considerations you should be aware of.

Content is King. For a member to pay a monthly fee for access to a password protected site there are to be real value in the content on the site or your member will not be with you very long. Your ability to charge for content is directly proportional to the value the member perceives to get from the unique content.

Member sites can offer exclusive articles, information, or even a service (like music, software, games, ebooks). People are willing to pay for online content. The amount of unique content is reflected directly in the ultimate success of your site.

Paid for membership sites are built by organizations or people with the purpose of making money by giving hard to find data, access to specialized information or lists, or instruction in a variety of fields. Membership sites are owned and operated by people who either own the sites or who are hired by the site owners to check and oversee them. The topics for paid for membership sites are even more diverse than the free sites and surely more specialized.

You don't have to be a expert to have a Membership Site. For instance there are several Stock Trading Membership Sites where the owners are testing different Trading Robots on demonstration (free) accounts and reporting the results. So if you were thinking of purchasing one of these robots and wanted to keep current on the latest you would join as a member. That way you save time and money not having to purchase the robot an test it yourself. I've seen prices as high a $75/month for this type of information but compared to the cost of buying and the time to test a robot it may be well worth it to you, and since market conditions constantly change the robots that work the best change also.

Content, with full resell rights, for your Site can also be purchased from 3rd party suppliers. You can then leverage your one time purchase and keep your members happy with the perceived value.

Joe S. is the owner of the profit pulling site that address many of the strategies to making money on the internet and Membership Sites is one of them. When you build your Membership Site you control your future. Discover how to use the internet and turn your computer into a cash gushing machine. Forum Marketing Tips - When Did Common Sense Go Out the Window?

I'm writing this article in response to a thread that somebody started over at the Warrior Forum. Every so often, somebody decides that we need to have safeguards put in place to help prevent new marketers from getting ripped off by other members. My question is simple. When did common sense go out the window, not only when it comes to forum marketing, but in regard to anything we do online? I'm going to be taking a look at this issue specifically as well as the problem in general. I think you'll find this article interesting if nothing else.

Okay, the initial problem is that people are coming to the WSO forum and buying products that end up either not delivering on their promises or not delivering at all...as in they didn't get the product. The seller just took off with their money. Eventually, the seller gets banned but that doesn't solve the problem of the person getting ripped off. So what does?

A little common sense might help. Most, if not all of these sellers, have been at the forum for a very short period of time (maybe a month or two) have contributed very little to the discussion there, don't use their real names and a list of other things that are red flags to me. If you go to the Warrior Forum WSO marketplace and see somebody selling something and they've only been around for a month or two and have hardly any posts, not to mention that they're using some forum name like joeuser1234, what could possibly compel you to believe that you can trust this person? What are the indicators? I don't see any.

And yet, it happens time and time again. Somebody sees some wild claim made by these relatively new people and jump right on the bandwagon. Don't get me wrong. Not every new member is looking to rip you off, but like it or not, if you're new, you need to establish credibility. The forum is not an entitlement marketplace. You have to EARN the right to sell there and be respected. It doesn't just get handed to you.

Truth is, this is just a microcosm of the rest of the Internet. People see sales pages with no name on them, no way to contact the seller and yet, they buy into these insane claims every single day. And then they wonder why the product is crap and they can't get any support for it when they contact them after the sale. Forget about getting questions answered before the sale. That's not going to happen.

Point is, when did common sense go out the window? I don't buy anything unless I am darn near 100% sure that I can trust the person. And that involves doing a lot of research on the person or company and the product as well. I look for unbiased reviews without affiliate links attached to them. I look to see if there have been any prior complaints. In short, I do my homework.

I guess until people use the brains that God gave them, these things are going to continue to happen.

To YOUR Success,

Home Based Business - You Are Losing Thousands of Dollars If You Suffer From This Common Problem

Most network marketing people destroy their own chances of success. Do you see yourself in this tragic story? When I first heard about this I thought that someone must be trying to play a joke on me. Nobody in their right mind would pay that much money---and for what? The cost of these things, and there are many styles and colors to choose from, start at around $7,500. Would this be a bargain at this price or would you be overpaying for this "mystery Item". Unless you know what it is you can't possibly answer that question.

The fact is, over the years I have personally witnessed over 91.5% of home based business owners endure the loss of their dignity and the loss of thousands and thousands of dollars because of this "problem" I'm about to reveal to you. And what makes this story so heartbreaking is that YOU probably suffer from this same obstacle to your success.

I will get back to the "mystery item "above in a minute. But first-----

Everyone in a home based business who is successful knows from personal experience that, less than 10% of the people in any location, in any type business, at any education level, rich or middle class, use price as their major reason for making a buying decision. Did you know this?

As a matter of fact, from my own personal experience of selling for over 20 years, making a buying decision just on price only rarely even made it into the top three reasons as to why someone made a purchase from me.

Before I reveal what the "mystery item" is above and why this example is important to your home based business----Let me ask you this question my friend. If less than 10% of any population buys based strictly on price, why do most salespeople sell as if 91.5% of the population buys strictly on price?

Obviously, it is because most of us force our attitudes about price on other people. The "mystery item" above for $7,500 to start, is a real product being sold by a real company. This is no joke. The actual product is a "Luxury Dog House". At first I thought this was the dumbest thing that I had ever heard of in my life. I was wrong and I will be the first to admit it.

You are losing thousands of dollars if you suffer from this common problem of imposing YOUR values on other people. There are a great number of people out there who will gladly pay a minimum of $7,500 for a Luxury Dog House. Maybe not you-----but lots of people will.

We can all agree that, you are losing thousands of dollars if you suffer from this common problem as a home based business owner and fail to learn well the lesson of the "Luxury Dog House".

Cautions Regarding Information Online

In the world of today, information is readily available to anyone who has basic internet skills. Similarly, anyone can create a web page to provide information to the public. On some sites, articles are open to be modified by members of the public. Articles are written by the educated and the uneducated alike. This isn't always a negative, but there are several things to be aware of when searching for information online - the use of language, the author's credentials, and the sources. Certainly more items could be listed to caution searchers, but these three provide an excellent starting point.

There has been a wave of chat languages flooding the written world in the last few decades, but there is a time and place for the short cuts of L33T. The credibility of information is connected to the voice of the author, and the voice of the author has a lot to do with their grammar and use of the language. If a person has taken the time to write on a topic for use by the public, one would assume he or she is able to use the common tongue properly. If the person hasn't, and his or her article is full of common errors of grammar and spelling, it is likely that the information isn't better.

How much would you trust the words of a soldier on matters of genetics? Learning by ones self is an admirable thing, but it doesn't always provide the right tools for a person to write on par with the experts in the field. There are many people in this world that read one or two books on a topic, and then they present themselves as well read and learned individuals. Such isn't always the case. I wouldn't deny that some people may indeed have a clue, but the sad reality is that many people don't know very much. The main idea here is one of common sense. If a person has written an article on a subject they've not studied extensively and/or professionally, it would be a good idea on your behalf to check for information from other, more credible, sources.

To have good sources is what separates the men from the boys in the written world. Indeed anyone can say a thing on some topic, and some may believe that person. The reality is that sources provide credibility to the information one reads. Without credibility, information is very much a useless tool. That's all fine, but good sources aren't always easy to find. A great place to start finding sources online would be in databases. Databases are a center for knowledge on many topics that have been written by professionals. If possible, try to find articles that have been peer reviewed. Peer reviewing means that people in the same field of the writer have read the article, and those people agreed that the author was writing truthfully on the topic. If an author has cited sources originating in a database, the chances are much better that you've found good information. This isn't always fool proof, but it is a good way to ensure that you're reading the best information on your topic rather then the words of a fourteen year old who decided to create a web page.

There are three main things to keep in mind when searching for information online: the author's language; the author's credentials; the author's sources. Information is abundant in our world, and it can be difficult to discern the truth from the lies. The three items discussed should provide you with the tools to make an educated decision regarding your reading material. It's one thing to think we know something; it's another thing to know we know something.
