Now you may have noticed I called you Future 5%er, and might be wondering why I can boldly call you that and maybe even what it means.. I'll get to those questions in a minute, but first let's talk about what's been stopping you from having the success you want in Internet Marketing. Quite frankly you're in a Battle Zone. On one side you have the "gurus" and on the other side you have the "wanna-be gurus"(WBGs). A guru can easily be defined as a person who makes their living helping WBGs make it to the other side. But how do guru's make their living truly?

Most guru's (I'd say conservatively 90% of them) make their money with the following strategy.. First,they create a product that appears to fill a need for WBGs.. then they call up their guru friends and offer them a piece of every sale they make.. the guru friends then mail their private lists of WBGs and make millions together.

Now, there isn't anything wrong with this business model.. if you're a guru. However, if you're a WBG this business model sucks. Seriously.. because you are lead to believe that the reason why the guru is making the big bucks with all his bling-bling.. is because of the products/information you are buying from him, but in reality it's his RELATIONSHIPS with other gurus that are selling his products.. So, when you buy the newest product, you are still left with the same problems that stop 95% from making a single dime. And more than likely you don't have your own product and even if you did, you probably don't have guru friends to call up to mail out for you.. it's a very tight knit circle.

Of course, some people will be able to get in the circle... they have the time, money, focus, determination, and persistence to be able to make a product from scratch.. study/hire copywriting..create compelling graphics for their sales page.. go to all the live events.. and rub elbows with the gurus to make it in to the inner circle..

The Infamous Guru Strategy Okay so let's refresh our memory on what Internet Marketing is:

1. Create a product. (What people buy)
2. Get traffic. (People who buy it)

Now with this new understanding, let's use this to analyze the guru strategy we talked about earlier.First, they create a product.. then they break it down into smaller products.. the guru then offers this first product to you at a small upfront price.. and then they give you more pieces of the product at higher price points later. It's called an upsell process.. remember how I said increase the offer if you want more money? That's what this upsell process does. After they have their product created..

Now comes "Get traffic" The gurus phone up their guru friends and tell them to "mail their lists" for a cut of the action.. so the guru friend writes a nice friendly compelling email to show you the "new product" with a special tracking link.. they get paid if you buy through that link.. so, you see a list of prospects and buyers is basically traffic (and cash) on demand.. So you have product and you have emails lists. This is the money part and the traffic part. But will this work for you?

You've Been Completely Mislead. Now, let's analyze this strategy for you. Do you have a product?

Odds are that you don't. Most people are focused on making as much money with as little work as possible. This happens to be the fastest route to failure that I know of.. (short of doing nothing of course)

I don't blame you though because how do you know that spending all that time and money building your own product will actually get you paid? Factoring in the time to become an expert, the money for copywriting services, graphic design, hosting, domain registration, etc.. and even with all of this.. there is still a chance your product will FAIL.. So, yes I agree you have every right to be worried that your time and money will be spent in vain..So, it makes perfect sense to become an affiliate and sell someone else's product.. but will the guru strategy work for you? NO! Because (even if you had guru friends) they won't mail their list for you if you can't pay them and you can't if you don't own the product!Can you now see how it's impossible to follow the guru strategy by buying their products? Okay I think we've effectively shown that 95% can not achieve their goals with the Infamous Guru Strategy. And the statistics show this also..So, what strategies do you have left? What can you do that will break you free from your job and give you the life that you are chasing?

You're left with the strategies that guru's sell you.. see' how this plot thickens? See how it all works? Hang on tight though because it gets even more serious.. because just the act of continually buying product after product is holding you back from success..So.. the more products you buy the further you are from success! How Could More Products = Failure?

Will buying the latest products get you closer to your goals? No. It won't. And it can't. You see your success is completely determined by the number of people you help. Not the number of products, strategies, and tricks you know. In fact, buying products keeps you from achieving your goals!! Yes, I know it sounds crazy, but it is also so true. You see, the more often you are buying products.. the less time you are spending implementing and optimizing your business.. And if you're anything like my students..

You gotta do as the guru's do.. The gurus who are selling you products have you nailed. They know your hopes, they know your dreams, they know your fears, and they know what you truly want.. you want a magic button that will get you free from your job.. you want to see testimonials, proof of earnings, and you want to desperately believe it is possible.

Is it possible?

Yes of course. Is it probable no it's not.. and here's why.. you just don't have the knowledge, time, the skills, and sometimes the ability to do every single thing necessary to be successful. The last thing you need slowing you down is having technical issues because you are trying to learn how to use a new machine.

You also need a dedicated phone line with voice mail that only you answer. You can get a separate phone line or you can get a prepaid cell phone that is for business purposes only. There are also companies that provide free voice mail accounts on the web. Just go to google and type in free voice mail and you'll find a ton of places to choose from. Whichever method you choose, make sure it is something that only you have access to. I know I said this twice, but it is worth repeating, especially if you don't live by yourself.

Depending on the type of work you do, you'll want to have a printer. If you don't require a lot of printing in the course of doing your work, you may be able to get away without a printer for a little while. If you're doing work such as desktop publishing or graphic design, however, a printer is a must. Get the best printer you can afford. This is not the area you want to be cheap in as your reputation will often be defined by the quality of your work. If your work looks shoddy you won't get many repeat clients.

If you don't have your website set up yet, you at least need to have a professional sounding email address. No one is going to take you seriously if your email address is bunny123 at some domain.com at all. It is better to use your first and last name as your email handle. That makes you look a lot better. Of course the best thing is to get your own hosting and use that. If you can't do that at least get a Gmail account.

I'm surprised at how many folks still don't do this. Chances are that your MLM company has a great looking web site for you. Maybe you even have your own affiliate site with them. Chances are equally as high that they don't offer any way for you to capture names and email address from your visitors. You MUST have a way to do that, or your advertising dollar will be wasted.

Most of us just don't buy when we first see something. That is why we need to capture our visitors info and follow up on them. This is where an auto-responder and a good lead capture (aka "squeeze page") come into play.

GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO FILL OUT YOUR LEAD FORM

One of the best ways to generate leads for your biz is to offer something of value for free. One of the best things to give away is information. An ebook, report, or manual. You might offer them a sample of your product. Just don't go broke in the process! There are a lot of folks out there who will take anything for free - and have no plan to ever buy anything from you.

Join several traffic-type programs and parlay the traffic into visitors and cash. One way to do that is to find ones that will let you advertise other traffic programs as your pop up (most of them give you an affiliate page or link) with them. Link them all together, and then buy some inexpensive visitors to get the whole thing rolling.

To link them, just have your affiliate page or traffic earning page with one program listed with the next one. Then enter that traffic program page with the next traffic program (they all ask you what URL you want to promote - you are just promoting another traffic program instead of a biz opp or M*L*M offer).

So one traffic program feeds another one, which feeds another one etc. If done right, this can all lead to a TON of visitors to your lead capture page, which is the last URL you will use in the chain.

These type of programs give you even more traffic as you sign up other free members into the traffic scheme. So by linking them all together you can be building a downline in each traffic program.

As mentioned, there are some great buys from many of these type programs for getting traffic to your site. While solo ads to the right ezines will pull much better, this inexpensive traffic is a good way to test your lead capture page's effectiveness (more on this later in the course).

If none of this makes sense to you, don't worry, it will soon. Just visit some of the sites and sign up. You can also just list your lead capture page with each program that you join, which is what you want to eventually do with all of them anyway. The above linking process just helps you to get a downline quickly in each program. Once you have a downline in the traffic programs, they will be earning you free visits to your pages as they refer others.

So even if you use the Traffic linking scheme above, you will want to eventually change your page with each program to your lead capture page. At that point, you will have an automated lead supply for your MLM biz.

HERE IS A SUMMARY OF THIS LESSON

When it comes to lead generation, just as in sales, it is a numbers game. Just do the numbers to get more traffic and leads. Have a follow-up system in place, and watch your MLM or sales-type program grow!

* 1) It all starts with LEAD CAPTURE. You need a Lead Capture page that has a high conversion rate. In other words, a high percentage of your visitors will take the time to fill out your form. SEND ALL YOUR TRAFFIC to this page first! Use this page in your ezine and other type ads too.

You also need an effective solo ad that will pull people to your lead capture page. If your ad is no good, you have lost before you get started.

Offer something free for filling out your form.

* 2) Solo ads to ezines are the best type of ezine ad to use in your marketing efforts. Choose ones that have to do with home biz or are related to the type of offer you have.

For instance, if you are pushing a Health product, you may want to advertise in Health-related e-zines. There are ezines on every subject imaginable, so no matter what you are trying to sell, there are e-zines and newsletters out there that cater to your market.

* 3) Generate and purchase some traffic with the traffic-type programs mentioned above.

* 4) Add other marketing techniques as your home biz starts to generate income. Don't spend your profits, at least not at first. You should consider investing Everything right back into your business and then some as it starts to grow. Once it is cash-flowing above and beyond your marketing costs, take a vacation, and then come back ready to do some more work!

By the time you get to this point in your marketing (you have initiated all the steps that we have talked about so far in this series) you will have probably quit your day job, and have joined the happy folks around the world who work from home! By buying leads, or effectively outsourcing your marketing, you have short-cutted one of the biggest obstacles in the process of building your downline. Great. All you have to do is establish a good relationship, introduce them to your team, show them how good the products are and get them to do the same as you did and your destiny is built. Umm... no...

Buying leads is not "duplicatable"

Buying leads does not work, it doesn't duplicate. The vast majority of part time networkers trying to build additional income from home will never be able to make it work.

Here's why...

Remember back to the last time you received a call from some person you didn't know, pitching you on something. Perhaps you were in the middle of dinner with your family. Did you like it? I doubt it. I bet you were angry that somebody you didn't know, who got your number, trespassed on your private time. Ninety-six percent of the world's population is sales resistant. They hate to be sold, especially by somebody they don't know. Buying and cold calling leads is a huge waste of your time and money. And here's why it won't work for the 96% people who are building their network marketing business part time...

Firstly, they don't have the resources to spend the hundreds or thousands of dollars every month on leads. Secondly, people simply can't take that much rejection on a daily basis - it's a huge blow to their self confidence. I've heard from many network marketers who persisted through the terrible reactions of their bought leads. Of those who they were able to contact, they were typically sworn at, hung up on. Most of the leads weren't even real people, nor contactable. I have personally heard the stories of successful MLM mentors who in the past have spent upwards of $2000 per month buying leads from several different lead brokers. These were full time networkers. None of them had any success. Some were able to sponsor a few people, but none of them stayed to build the business. They all quit, because they weren't able to duplicate the results.

Selling MLM leads is big business!

If your upline is telling you to buy leads from a particular company, I would question his motive. Does he have a vested interest in referring you to that lead company? Does he own or have a share in a lead company. They have been many, many cases where the upline has sold leads to their downline team members without them knowing by referring them to a particular lead company. This is obviously dishonest and lacking integrity but is made infinitely worse by the fact that this strategy simply does not work! And the upline knows it! In order to keep you buying their leads they put on the guilt trip, they tell you it's your fault. If you go to them for counsel, they will tell you "You're not doing enough", "You're just not doing it right", "You're not using the script properly", blah, blah, blah.

Some lead companies will charge you double figures for what they tell you are "premium, interviewed, fresh hot, specifically qualified for your opportunity" leads. But when you call them, it turns out they've already been called dozens of times and are begging you for advice on how to get off the list.

How the crooks source their leads

I feel very sorry for the poor, unsuspecting internet browser who filled out some random lead capture page on how to make money from home, and then all of a sudden, he is pounded over and over again by complete strangers because the crook who operated the capture page sold him 20 times as a fresh hot lead. Here's another example of how the lead brokers come up with their "highly qualified MLM leads"...

They start a pre-launch MLM company promising to the world the latest and greatest innovative product along with the most lucrative pay plan ever in history. Hurry, hurry, get your position in this ground floor opportunity right now. Some of them will charge you a fee, some of them you can get in for free.

Weeks, perhaps months roll by and their marvelous product never arrives. Then all of a sudden, they shut the prelaunch down and never start the MLM company. They never intended to start the MLM company. Their intention was to build a list, a genealogy that they could sell as qualified MLM leads for millions of dollars.
