Woodworking As a Home Based Business

Wood workers have, since the very beginning, been profiting from their expertise at shaping and joining wood. From the earliest digging and chopping tools, up to the modern dining room set, man has found a way to profit from wood itself and his projects using wood. Will you be the next to join in this well honored tradition?

The first thing you need to know is, you have to have a plan of attack. This isn't hard, it is just about answering a few questions.

1. Are you going to sell locally to the community where you live, or are you going to sell on line to the world? Maybe just the U.S.?,

2. What niche (a distinct segment of a market) are you going to sell in? Let me explain, a generalized market might be wooden gun racks. The niche of that market might be custom hardwood gun racks.

3. Is there a need or demand in the marketplace for the product you have chosen?

4. Can you compete with the other sellers in your niche and still turn enough of a profit to make it worth your while? Or is your product so unique that there is no competition.

5. If you are going to sell online, are you going to sell from your own web store, or from one of the other venues such as eBay, Craigslist, Bid Cactus, and ect. ect.

6. How will you market your product? Do not freak out on this one... it does not have to be overwhelming!

7. How good of records do you really need to keep for tax purposes?

8. Do you need to limit your liability by becoming a company, LLC, or corporation?

9. If this product takes off like wild fire, are you going to be able to keep up?

10. Last but not least, do you have plans and diagrams for the projects you might want? Or do you like spending all your time working out the finer details.

OK, now you get the gist of what the rest of the article is about. So lets get started and answer some of our questions.

A1. Are you going to sell locally to the community where you live, or are you going to sell on line to the world?

This is a pretty easy question for you to answer. Really, you can do both, or one or the other. Plenty of people sell only out of their shop, home, or at flea markets and farmers markets. It just depends on what product you have chosen to sell. If you plan on selling large things like dinning room sets that are not easily shipped, try to stick to local markets and maybe introducing your brand to other local stores for them to resale. I have even sold items in stores that did not have enough room to showcase my work. This happened because I took the initiative and made a very nice order book for the perspective store and offered them a cut of twenty five percent. They liked the idea, as it was something they didn't even have to stock and I would deliver it. I made the order book from a new family album with color pictures and explicit descriptions. I also included pull tabs with the item numbers, customer name, address, phone number, ect., one for each of us... you get the idea. Try to sell everywhere you can locally. Do not limit your prospective sales.

If your item is small enough to ship without it costing an arm and a leg, then you should really consider selling on the web. You need to figure of the weight of your item and check with the post office or whatever shipping company you might use, to get a price per item cost. Take the time to get the price on the U.S. and globally. This will help you determine if you will sell world wide or in the states only.

A2. What niche (a distinct segment of a market) are you going to sell in?

This can be a lot harder than question one. Your market is woodworking products. Your niche is what you need to find. Try to think about what you would enjoy building or what you have already built and if it would sell. Use the search option on Google or your favorite browser to see if you have a winner or whether you need to rethink things. Don't be afraid to ask friends, family, and neighbors what they think. A fresh outlook is always helpful. Just don't let it hurt your feelings. Criticism must be part of the process to grow a business of any kind.

Do not try to reinvent the wheel... make the wheel better instead. As an example, let's say that gun racks are selling pretty good in your area or on the web. And let's just say that none of the ones being sold had any felt on them to protect the weapon from being damaged. Well then, a felt lined one might be a pretty profitable business for you to be in, right!

A3. Is there a need or demand in the marketplace for the product you have chosen?

The answer to this is pretty straight forward. Locally you can just ask the stores if there is any call for the item in question. But please don't forget that there is something to be said for impulse buying. I would hate to count the number of times I have bought something just because it was there, and it was neat. Quite often you just know, because you see them in stores and they are selling. Also maybe the ones you do see in stores are of inferior quality.

As far as selling on the web, I would say research is king. It is easy to start with eBay and Craigslist. Just do a little research by getting on their site and peruse the categories to check the prices of what similar products are selling. This not only gives you info on price, but also quite often you will get ideas about what is hot and products you had not thought of.

A4. Can you compete with the other sellers in your niche and still turn enough of a profit to make it worth your while? Or is your product so unique that there is no competition.

Here is a neat tip. Get on eBay and do a search for whatever you're interested in selling, then hit advanced search. Just scroll down and click on completed listings, then go to the bottom and click search. These will be all the listings in the time period, both sold and unsold. This is a great way to gage your price limits and need. Please remember everything on there is not a new item. Also look at how many different sellers there are to compete with. All of this is relative to how unique, custom, expensive, and the quality of your product, compared to what is available. Research is key in both picking and pricing your item.

A5. If you are going to sell online, are you going to sell from your own web store, or from one of the other venues such as eBay, Craigslist, Bid Cactus, and ect. ect.?

I would really suggest starting with eBay or one of the other ready made selling formats to get you started. After you have a little experience with eBay and other selling platforms I would suggest a web store of your own. You should start small and keep web store expenses down. You can always upgrade to a larger service plan later. I truly like Go Daddy. They are both inexpensive and reliable. They even called me once to say that I should think about downgrading to a cheaper plan, since I wasn't even coming close to using my allotted storage space. Can you believe that? I tell you what... save me money and I am your friend for life! I will, for your convenience and information put a link on my web site for web hosting. They are always having some kind of deal or sale going on.

A6. How will you market your product? Do not freak out on this one... it does not have to be overwhelming!

Locally, word of mouth is the best. A bunch of your clients bragging about your products is the best thing that can happen to you. You will have to make your first customers really happy to achieve this. Low prices and quality products still go a long way. For those cheap customers offer a first time buyer discount to get them started. You can even offer a Plain Jane version of your product that is substantially cheaper. Hear is a cool idea that works well... offer a discount for the buyers willing to fill out an endorsement of you and your fine product. Get the idea, get a little creative. At first you are going to have to advertise though, simply because you have virtually no word of mouth. Business cards, flyers, ads in the local paper, and signs are all great ways to start. If you have children use them for the leg work. There has to be a reason you had them, Right!

If you are going to sell on the web, you need to get use to promoting everywhere possible. This includes, but is not limited to, keywords for everything, article submissions, directory sites, face book, twitter, blogs, you tube, safe email submission sites, list building techniques, paid web advertising, and etc. Please, please do not get overwhelmed with this, just do one thing at a time. I am not going to bother explaining each of those things, as we want an article here... not a book. To get started on any one thing, just do a Google search for that item and start clicking away on links to gather information. Please join totally free plans at first, or you will be broke in no time. This all takes time, but keep after it and YOU WILL SEE RESULTS. It is all about traffic to your site and having the desired product for that traffic. Traffic and the right product equals sales. Everything else equals a money sucking hobby.

A7. How good of records do you really need to keep for tax purposes?

Keep records of everything you have purchased in actual receipts and copies of receipts in a file on your computer. Make backups for safety sake. I have, in the past, totally hosed myself on record keeping. Randy did finally learn though. Keep and categorize everything per items being sold. Hey, paying taxes is bad enough, do not pay more than your fare share because of poor record keeping. Use spreadsheet at first, its more than likely already on your computer.

A8. Do you need to limit your liability by becoming a company, LLC, or corporation?

After you get going on your business, and your starting to make a few sales, you will need to think about this. You will need to protect yourself and loved ones from the public and the tax man. The only thing I can say without knowing you and your product is... Certain People Will Sue Over Anything and they make a fine living at it, I might add. So, please seek professional lawyerly advise! Not Me or Anyone Else on the web!

A9. If this product takes off like wild fire, are you going to be able to keep up?

You should be so lucky as to have this be a major concern, but it is good to plan ahead. Who do you know who is willing to work for you for little money at first? Are you willing to split profits, pay hourly, or pay by the piece? Lets see, personally I like piece work, both as an employer and as a worker. As a worker you can get good and fast at doing a repetitive task, and the faster you can produce, the more you make. As an employer, you simply don't have the employee who just shows up to collect a check. It is hard to find someone to start out on piece work, which is why you would usually start the worker out at minimum wage till they get their sea legs. You have to have allot of business for piece work to make it worth your employees while. Basically I am saying keep your options open and be willing to modify your pay plan as the need arises. Such as an increase in sales, or a drop off. Quite often when you first start out, you need to just pay someone that you think might work for awhile just to get you going.

If you get to busy and you can not easily expand, you need to consider outsourcing to a reputable company, that can handle the load. There certainly is nothing wrong with this, but you need to be able to maintain your quality levels at the levels your customers have come to expect.

A10. Last but not least, do you have plans and diagrams for the projects you might want? Or do you like spending all your time working out the finer details.

This is kind of a big deal with me. On the one hand, I like to draw on a computer. On the other, I don't want to draw every single thing that my company might consider selling. After all, its just an idea until you see proof that there is a market for any particular item you might consider selling. Also, I might get stumped on an idea for a niche, or I might feel the need for speed under a certain set of circumstances. If you don't have the time. ability, or desire to draw and design your own products, then you have to get some plans. Not just any free crappy old plan will do either. The plans need to be quality plans and lots of them, to be of any real use to you. You also must be able to easily change them to suit your needs and purposes. A video or pictures on how this son of a gun goes together might be of real service to you, huh. Have I peaked your interest yet? Are you ready to get started? Click the link and lets go!

Medical Coding Jobs From Home

Working from home and being paid well for it is a goal of many individuals. While searching out ways to accomplish this goal many have stumbled upon a niche field in medical administration called "medical coding".

Medical coding positions are present in hospitals, physician offices, insurance companies, home health agencies, and just about anywhere medical services are being provided and billed for. In addition to traditional hourly employment in this field there are also a number of opportunities to do this type of work from the comfort of your own home.

A standard, hourly, medical coding job is what is usually advertised in the classifieds and help wanted ads. These positions usually require individuals to be present at a specific location, punch a time clock, ect. Employees are usually paid at an hourly rate and receive benefits such as paid vacation, health insurance, and paid holidays.

In contrast, most work from home medical coding jobs are contract positions. This means that a larger company who has multiple clients farm out the work into smaller portions on an individual basis. Individual medical coders who are awarded a portion of this work are called independent contractors and are considered self employed.

Most often an independent contractor will agree to receive a specified amount of work each week, code it within a specific time frame, maintain a certain accuracy standard, and in return are usually paid on a "per. chart coded" basis. While such positions usually do not include benefits such as paid vacation, medical insurance, and paid holidays it does offer an extremely flexible schedule and the ability to work from home, which saves on travel, attire, and other related expenses.

An independent contractor can expect companies that award coding contracts to provide the work and coding software while they will be responsible for providing the computer hardware, internet connection, and medical coding books. Independent contractors are also responsible for withholding their own taxes since their payments are made on their gross earnings. At year end individuals will receive a 10-99 instead of a W-2 and will need to file schedule 1040. This can also be a benefit since work related expenses such as coding books, internet, computer, ect. can be considered a tax deduction.

Most independent contraction positions are available for a specific specialty, such as pediatrics, emergency medicine, or dermatology. These positions normally require that contractors hold either a CPC or CCS coding credential and have a minimum of three years of coding within their specialty.

Each coding specialty has its own bar rate and standard pay rate. These are important to know when discussing a contract. For example, when coding emergency medicine the standard bar rate 25 charts an hour and the average pay rate is between.65 and.75 cents per. chart for professional coding. Based on these numbers and an average work week of 40 hours (for full time) or 20 hours (for part time) an independent contractor can choose the number of charts to contract for each week based on their own speed.

For example, individuals who code the standard 25 charts an hour and only wish to work 4 hours per day (that's a 20 hour week) should contract for 500 charts per week and could expect to gross between $352 and $375 each week. The faster an individual can code the more money they can make, so an individual who can code 50 charts per hour can either choose to contract for full time work and receive full time earnings while working only part time hours, or they can choose to contract for a large number of charts and increase their earnings.

While speed is important to an independent contractor's earning potential accuracy is equally important. Most companies who award coding contracts stipulate that the medical coder must maintain a certain accuracy in their coding in order to keep their contract. The accuracy rate usually falls between 96% - 99%. Charts coded by the medical coder are routinely audited by the company to ensure their rates are being maintained.

Prior to being considered for a work from home medical coding job there are several things one must do. The first is to earn either a CPC or CCS coding credential. While there are multiple coding credentials that are awarded by numerous organizations these are the only two that are commonly recognized among employers nationwide.

The CPC stands for Certified Professional Coder, and is awarded by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). The second credential, the CCS, stands for Certified Coding Specialist and it is awarded by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).

Each of the two credentials can be earned by sitting for and passing the 5 - 6 hour coding exam. Proper education prior to sitting for either exam is strongly encouraged and selecting the right organization to prepare you should be done carefully.

Once an individual has earned either their CPC or CCS credential the next achievement should be to gain some on the job coding experience. This is required by most companies that award independent coding contracts. It is also more beneficial for a medical coder to start out this way as well.

Succeeding as an independent contractor is dependent upon both speed and accuracy and a new coder will be neither. It is best to earn an hourly paycheck when starting out when you can code as slow as you need to and you are able to ask as many questions as you may have to.

Once an individual has gained two to three years of on the job medical coding experience they will be considered for most independent coding contract positions. The next step is to find such companies that offer these types of positions or contracts.

Most internet searches for "at home medical coding jobs" and "medical coding jobs from home" usually return more solicitation or articles than job leads. It is better to use search phrases such as "medical coding independent contractor" or "remote medical coding jobs". Attending local AAPC chapter meetings is also a good way to hear of such opportunities from the local coding community. In addition, an individual may try calling medical coding organizations and ask if the positions they are hiring for have the ability to become remote.

Examples of some companies who hire independent medical coding contractors are avia code, maxim health information services, and med data.

Work From Home Beginners Guide

I never thought I would be 25, married and making money off of blogging but here I am typing away my experiences and getting paid to do so. Now I won't lie I went through multiple scams to getting here. Not all came out to be scams but too much work for my busy schedule. I created this blog to share what I've learned in the past few years. How I profited from work at home job opportunities over the Internet and which of them did nothing but scam me.

I have joined online jobs such as Web Colleagues, Project Payday, and multiple Paid Online Surveys, some legit and some turned out to be nothing but a scam. I will provide you with much needed information based on my experiences with these programs, which will only give you a push in the right direction.

Now based on the emails I have been receiving, I found that most people are very confused and overwhelmed by the online money making business. Knowing what to avoid and whats well worth the money is a good start!

You can find job listings through the Internet but its usually a hassle so I decided that I will search daily for work at home opportunities and provide them on my blog for all of my readers.

I have been a member of Project Payday for three years now. I came across project payday through a random website advertising work at home opportunities. The website seemed promising. I mean for me as long as I see a money back guarantee I usually give it a chance and hope not to be lazy if needed canceling. The sign up page does not explain what you will be doing in order to get paid which is what I will be explaining in case you are thinking to give this program a shot. I will give you the ups and downs on this program. How many hours I worked and how much I got paid ect.

How to Become a Home Based Medical Coder

Home based medical coders are often self employed as independent contractors. This type of work falls somewhere between being an hourly employee and owning your own business.

An independent contractor is an individual who has contracted with a larger organization that provides work to the home based coder for an agreed upon payment. These independent contractors benefit by working from home, having a flexible schedule, and having a steady and reliable income without assuming the large overhead costs and liability that accompany small entrepreneurships.

The contract agreement entered by the home based medical coder and the organization should specify items like:

-Number of Chart Provided/Coded
-Payment
-Accuracy Standards
-Hardware and Software Responsibilities

The number of charts a coder can contract for may depend upon their coding specialty, experience, desired income, and time commitment.

Since rates vary by specialty it is important to know the industry standard for your specific specialty and if you fall within that specialty's average.

The following is a loose projection home based medical coders can use when negotiating a rate in their contract:

Coding Specialist I:
45 inpatient records daily
2 min/chart or 250/day outpatient and ER records
3.5 min/chart or 130/day ambulatory surgery records

Coding Specialist II:
32 inpatient records daily
2 min/chart or 250/day outpatient and ER records
4 min/chart or 120/day ambulatory surgery records

Coder II:
23 inpatient records daily
3 min/chart or 160/day outpatient and ER records
6 min/chart or 80/day ambulatory surgery records

Coder I:
15 inpatient records daily
4 min/chart or 120/day outpatient and ER records
8 min/chart or 60/day ambulatory surgery records

Home based medical coders who choose to be independent contractors will also need to negotiate their rate of pay. Usually this is a flat rate that is agreed upon in the contract. This rate is then paid on a per chart basis.

Rates of pay are strongly influenced by things like geographical location, coding specialty, experience, and current economic variables. A home based medical coder can use the following as a loose guide to help them in their contract negotiations regarding rates of pay.

Professional Coding/Outpatient:.60 -.75 per chart
Facility Coding/Inpatient:.70 -.85 per. chart
Combination Coding/Both In and Outpatient:.90 - 1.50 per. chart

The rate of charts coded and the rate of pay are the two main influences affecting a home based medical coder's income. It is important to properly calculate the chart commitment and pay rate and balance it with the amount of time needed to perform the task.

For instance, a medical coder who codes out patient charts may contract for 875 charts each week at a rate of.65 cent per chart. If the week's commitment is divided by the standard rate of 25 chart per hour the medical coder will need to allot for 35 hours of work time each week (875/25=35). If the medical coder is paid.65 per chart then their weekly income will be $568.75 (875 x.65) and their "hourly" average will be $16.25 ($ 568.75 / 35 hrs).

To hold a profitable home based medical coding job speed and accuracy are of upmost importance. Speed will enable the medical coder to increase their pay and decrease their time commitment. It is possible to achieve "full time pay" working only 20 hours a week, but this takes time to achieve and it is important to remember to maintain accuracy as well.

Most organizations that contract with home based medical coders specify in the contract that the coder must maintain a specific accuracy standard. This standard is usually between 94% - 98% accuracy. Charts that are coded and submitted by the independent contractor are periodically audited to ensure they are being coded correctly. This audit is what produced the accuracy percentage. If accuracy is not maintained the organization may terminate the contract.

Benefits and taxes are other items a home based medical coder must consider prior to becoming an independent contractor.

Benefits such as medical, dental, 401K contributions, vacation, and paid time off are usually not provided since you are considered self employed. Contracting organizations usually do allow for their coder's to take vacations and sick days, however, since these are usually unpaid they should be budgeted for in advance.

Taxes are also different for the independent contractor. The organization that the medical coder contracts with will usually send their payments out similar to a scheduled paycheck. These checks are paid in gross earning though.

It is the responsibility of the home based medical coder to withhold taxes from each check and set the money aside for payment to the government at the end of the year. When the end of the year arrives the organization will send the coder a 10-99 instead of a W-2 and when filing taxes the independent contractor should file a schedule 1040.

A schedule 1040 allows the home based medical coder to itemize and subtract some items such as medical coding books, computers, internet connections, office supplies, ect. as deductions. Keeping track of work related expenses is important and beneficial come tax time.

Items that are provided by the contracting organization may not be counted as a deduction though. What is provided by an organization and what the home based medical coder is responsible for varies from one organization to another.

Some organizations may provide the medical coding books while other organizations hold the medical coder responsible for their purchase. The most common practice among organization regarding independent medical coders though is to provide them with the medical coding software, a firewall, e-mail, and some technical support.

It is usually the responsibility of the home based medical coder to provide an adequate computer system, medical coding books, an internet connection, and day to day work supplies (paper, pens, ect.)

Technical support is usually limited to the organization's software, firewall, and e-mail. Hardware failures, internet service interruptions, and items of that nature are usually the responsibility of the independent contractor.

Once a medical coder has informed themselves regarding all of the facts and they are prepared for the specific obligations that accompany home based medical coding and independent contracting they are ready to locate an organization that offers such opportunities.

If searching online avoid searching for phrases such as: "work at home medical coding jobs" and try searching for phrases like "remote medical coding jobs" and "independent contractor medical coding jobs".

Companies like Avia Code, Med Data, and The Coding Network are just a few that hire home based medical coders as well.

Can People really make online?

Because the internet is a virtual world a lot of people are very skeptical to take that leap of faith, to start generating an income online.

There are actually two common ways to make money online.

1.Network Marketing. Which I do not suggest, it involves you creating a downline the more people you add to your downline the more money you will make. The reason why its not ideal for you to start because it might involves you to do some cold calling or Inviting family and friends to join your downline which eventually can cause you to be blacklisted.

2.Affiliate marketing: You become an affiliate by joining an affiliate program like ClickBank, Commission junction, Epic advertising ect... there are hundreds of affiliate networks out there. Home Based Business Opportunities

How do you start your own home based business? Just have your criteria ready so you can find a business that matches up to what's important to you. If you want to go into business, think of it more as, and additional selling tool, not an exclusive selling machine. As an example, my wife was looking for a home based business or work from home program, her friend always tried to sell her candles and you see this product a lot in stores, craft shows, flea markets, Wal-Mart, Target, ect. No one starts a business NOT to make money. Every business needs traffic on their website to earn cash. For Your Information just as a side note, if you have your own business or product and you are looking for a way to get noticed don't forget about press releases.

Being in Business for Yourself Operating a home based business, is now more popular than ever. However, this may not be for everyone and some questions need to be answered to determine the right home based business for you. There are tons of home based business ideas you can adopt, and choosing the right one may not be easy, however, knowing what to look for will definitely make things much simpler. How much startup capital are you willing to invest? When determining the investment, it should be an amount you are comfortable with to start your home based business. It does not necessary mean that you have to invest the full amount, but rather as gauge to filter out high costing ideas. Since you will be working from home, you need not pay the high cost of rental for office space and depending on the business you are in, possibly no management of employees and salary required. Product fulfillment is very important in a business. Keep a lookout for partners or mentors who are more experience, whom you can leverage on to guide and assist you towards your success in your business. How much time am I willing to spend is another question to ask yourself. There are quality websites that will provide you with steps to take in starting a small home based business without cost or low cost.

You need to network, and find out what other people do to get their money and follow them. Alternatively, you could also be in a home based business that you market frequently and make money on every sale made. Always do your research to find what is in demand before you waste all your money, time and effort. Just imagine not having to worry about any bills anymore, no commute, and money in your savings account (Who has that these days?) I always thought that if you could really order all your needs for your family from home and save time and money I would show people the way and no one would have to buy brainwash tapes or have to find sitters and money to attend all those damn functions. There are home based businesses that are low cost and low risk level and still make you tons of money.

After years of experience and research there is a company that cares about the environment, safety of our health, children's health and provides a way to have a successful home based business. Network Marketing Info Overload

Too much info on the internet so little time to get to it all. What do we do shut down? No. Do we stop moving forward? No. Do we need a solution? Yes! Information overload is becoming a problem and it starts to really delay the learning flow. Somethings gotta give right?

Today being a network marketer you have so much info being thrown at you it starts flowing out your ears.

A knew book, CD, e-book, program ect you get the point.

With all this new stuff coming out every few months how do you keep up without getting left out? With not enough time to learn every little new thing its frustrating.

In this industry you must continue to learn and grow because there will always be evolving around you, and you want to stay on top of the times as your business will florish and grow if you do so.

As we know this isn't easy, it would be nice if we had double the hands to do different tasks but that's unrealistic.

Do you ever feel overwhelmed or overloaded with all the information being feed to you daily once you start your own business? Like brain shut down?

Well let me be honest with you i started feeling that about a month ago like i had brain freeze but without the hurt part. It was as if i couldn't get my mind to focus and move forward. My brain was at a stand still. Pretty aggravating. I had info shock! I wanted to learn so much and in the process I got to much and my brain shut down. Well i realized i wasn't a robot and i had to take it easy and not get so worked up and do what my brain could handle. It's safe to say im doing better.

This my friends is what i call to much information on the internet!

But i was happy to find something special that would change how we handle all this info and use it for the better.

We all could use some guidance and help along the way when going through such frustrating times right?

As we know mike dillard is a network marketing guru and has come out with some pretty great stuff, recently he has announced his latest project to help us get out of the information overload which in my opinion is amazing since i have experienced it.

If you want to see how you can conquer information overload Go to this link below....

Why Finding a Home Based Business is a Lot Like Finding a Spouse

In many ways finding the perfect home based business for you is a lot like finding a spouse. Here are a couple of reasons why...

You don't commit after just one date

You wouldn't marry the first girl (or guy) you took on a date right? Most people want to look around and meet other people before deciding that they are ready to settle down. After all if you don't look at others how do you know that yours is so special? Same is true with a home based business. You want to look at several different companies before joining the first one you see. That doesn't mean that you join and bunch of different businesses it just means that you take a look at a few before you fall in love and join the first one you see.

You need to look at their track record

When looking at a business you need to look at their track record. How many people in the company are really making money? How long do people generally stay in the business? Has the company followed through on all of their promises to their reps? Ect.

Just like you would want to know your future spouses dating history you should know the history of your business as well.

You need to know what they can do for you

Relationships are about give and take. Just like you wouldn't want to give and give and give and never get anything back from your spouse you want to know that when you give something to your business they will give you something valuable in return. What's in it for you!? You have to ask yourself that in a business. If you're working hard you need to know that they are going to give you enough in return.

You want something long term

Just like a marriage you don't just want it to be something that will last for a little while. You want to be in it for the long haul. So make sure that this is a business you can see yourself in for a long time. Many businesses are fine and they may be fun and everything but they're not something you want to do for years to come. That's not always the best thing to have in a business. You want something that you can build that will provide you with years and years of solid dependable income.

So when you think about it finding a great home based business is really very similar to finding a spouse. So go out there and find one that you are ready to be committed to!
