11 Tips on How to Stay Focused On Your Business Everyday

Depending on the type of business that you have is going to determine if some of these are workable for you, but in general purposes, everyone should be able to do these things.

1) Make customer service calls. What does that mean? Stay in touch with your customers. Call someone to check and see if they are enjoying X product they bought from you. If it is makeup, make sure it is working properly, if they like the results. If it is home d�cor, see if they have used the product yet. Are they enjoying it? Have they gotten complements on the results? Maybe these complements are referrals that your customer can make to you. Offer a small discount for referrals.

2) Send your Thank You notes. Send out Birthday cards, if you keep track of your customer's b-days. How about Thinking of You cards to those you haven't heard from in a while? Offer a small discount on their next order. This may get an order for you.

3) Send out flyers for a special sale or Open House. Are you doing a booth at a local craft show or festival? Here is another reason to send out a quick flyer. Again, offer them a little discount or free gift if they mention the ad and then show up at the function.

4) Get on the phone to past hostesses and book parties, shows or whatever your business. Make yourself make 2-3 calls per day. Put it on the calendar.

5) Go in the internet and research your industry. Find articles that you can learn from.

6) Go to sales seminars, read sales books and how to books.

7) Get all of the training that you can from your company. If they run out or you have taken it all, find other sources.

8) Get on the internet and take advantage of all the free advertising avenues out there. Join groups and free WAHM sites. The more you get your name out there, the better your sales will increase.

9) Join Twitter or Facebook and learn to network your business. Look for message boards that are in your niche and network on those.

10) Work on your calendar. Log everything like we talked about before. You need to do this everyday. If you log it, you need to do it.

11) Join local groups where you can network. Again, getting your name out there is crucial for name recognition.

Doing these types of things for even a few minutes a day will keep you in the Work At Home mode. It is easy to say, "Oh, I am just going to take today off. Oh and maybe tomorrow too." Before you know it, you have taken off more time that you have been working and what has that done for your sales? NOTHING! You have to stay in a working frame of mind to be successful.

What Is Your Motivation?

Personally, if the first thing that popped into your head was money, let me be as real as real gets, you need more motivation. Money is great, but I believe that you need more than money to motivate you. Here's a prime example of why I believe it is not a good motivator.

Lets say you've hit a slow couple of months, not bringing anything in. Now money is your motivation. For a couple of months there have been no sales, no leads, nada! Be real with yourself, how motivated are you to continue with your business? Chances are, you'll probably be thinking that a 9-5 sounds pretty sweet. I hope this depicts my point.

For you to achieve success in your business there has to be a reason why you get up every morning and do what you do. It doesn't matter how big or small the idea of motivation is, as long as it motivates you. Here are the top 3 things, that no matter how much money I'll lose, how many leads I don't get, or how many sales I never close, will still keep me motivated to run my business.

1. My Family - I have a loving family, were nuclear. Mom, dad and brother. They are my everything. I want to make sure that I am more than able to provide them with everything they need and want. No matter the cost, distance, or availability. I want them to have everything. Be more than average and more than comfortable. I want my parents to retire and travel the world. I would love to open an art gallery for my brother so he could exhibit his work. I want to make their dreams reality.

2. My Dream Home - I want to live in a big house. And not just any big house, my dream home! I even have a picture of what it looks like. I make sure to look at it everyday to remind myself why I work so hard, and what my hard work will pay off to. A visual to look at every day is a great way to plant it into your mind. Post it somewhere you can see it everyday. Usually where you spend most of your time is a good spot.

3. My Vision Statement - Its not really a statement, but more of a letter to myself. It's where I want to be 5 years from now. I'm a very detailed person, and wrote almost my whole life in there, but you don't have to. I read this everyday. Its similar to how I look at my dream house everyday. I read it out loud and it helps me and reminds me of the success I want to achieve in my life. I would highly suggest that everyone have a vision statement for themselves. You wouldn't believe how your own words can inspire you every day.

I hope that my motivation helps to give you some ideas if you don't have any, or helps to jog new ones. Always be motivated in your business. Its a determining factor. These simple things can make you stand out as leaders.

Want the REAL Secret to Dominating a Niche? Do THIS Everyday (But DON'T Do That!)

The truth is, most of the online advice out there is bogus.

As a matter of fact, most of the people recommending you try a traffic strategy, or a niche marketing method, DON'T really use that techniques themselves.

For the most part, they are "teaching" something they may have ONCE done a long while back....made a few bucks, and turned THAT into a full time income being a teacher!

For example, I've worked with people who have thousands of people in membership clubs where they share their niche marketing "secrets".....YET, whenever we work together on a project that really IS about niche marketing, we've lost money.

(and believe it or not, it's usually MY super simple stuff that has to make up for where their sophisticated stuff falls short)

Here is ALL you need to do to dominate a niche....EVEN in the most competitive niche there is:

CRUSH it with content. Create copious amounts of KILLER content that converts like crazy and simply don't stop until you've got oodles of traffic coming in everyday on autopilot.

When I attack a new market, I'll write 10 or 15 articles a day. I'll have those articles re-purposed around the web using inexpensive outsourced help. I'll have one or two writers create supplemental articles as well....and distribute them the very same way. (they're NOT going to be as "good" as mine or yours per se....but they're good enough to generate LOTS of free traffic, and that's all we want)

In 2008 - I used my CONTENT and CONVERSION model to generate a million readers in a new niche, ALL using free traffic. (and hundreds of thousands of those people went to the affiliate programs we were pushing at the time....again, without spending a dime on ppc)

What you MUST avoid is this:

Keyword constipation..:-)

Or said differently, Analysis Paralysis!

Don't worry about your keywords, and competition NEARLY as much as those gurus want you to. (I pay for 5 keyword tools and I almost NEVER even use them - mostly it's a waste of your time and attention)
