To some it may seem coincidental that all three marketers are Christians, to me this is not a surprise at all since their whole life speaks of their integrity taught through their faith. Since I first became involved in the income market business I have had reason to question the validity of the outlandish statements that are often made on internet squeeze pages. The very term squeeze page is offensive to me, but even more offensive is the extreme measures used to persuade people that they should optin for a one product only to be pressured to buy a marketers upsale product.

I personally have wrestled with the line between honesty and dishonesty in marketing since the beginning, and finally Paul has shown me that I can market in good conscience and perhaps still be successful, God willing. The key to being honest is simply that, be honest. You do not have to make exaggerated or untruthful claims about your experience or online success. The area of expertise of the niches I chose was haunting me because I couldn't claim that I had made money online, but I wanted to promote the products that I had bought and that I had found helpful. I wanted to honestly represent their benefits to others without lying about it.

Here is what I gleaned from listening to Paul today. To paraphrase what Paul said, don't say you have made a bunch of money if you didn't, but you can speak to the benefits as you see them. Don't claim to be that down and outer who struck it rich if you aren't. Just be honest. And what he said next is a real biggy. Paraphrasing Paul again, youdon't have to actually create a product yourself to be able to claim it as your own, provided that you have paid for the proper rights to own the work.

My life example of this practice is that the little red Ford truck in my garage is mine, I paid for it, I didn't create it, but I have title to it. When I sell it I will not promote it as a Cadillac. I will market it as the valuable little red Ford truck that it is, with true mileage and all. I will talk about the way that it has served me well and the service and attention to detail that Ford put into that truck when they created it for me. My customers on the web deserve no less honesty than that.
