The Mouse And The Milk

The mice began to swim around and around but after a while some of them got tired and stopped swimming. "don't give up" squeaked one little mouse."keep swimming" But the other mice didn't listen, they were tired, hopeless, undetermined. They stopped swimming and eventually drown in the milk

The commotion caught the attention of the other animals in the barn and they gathered around the top of the urn.

"You'll never make it, Give it up, it's impossible" they all yelled down at him. But the little mouse kept kicking his little arms and legs furiously. After a while the other animals got bored of watching and went about their usual day, sleeping, sitting around doing nothing and gossiping. They enjoyed telling each other how the little mouse would never make it.

Meanwhile the mouses little friend looked into the urn and saw his friend swimming around and around. he didn't want his best friend to fail, he didn't want his best friend to die. he started to shout down words of encouragement.

"That's it, keep swimming, keep it up, you can do it, I believe in you"

Encouraged by his friends words, the little mouse began to kick even more, he kicked and swam, and kicked, and waved his arms and kicked some more.

Then an amazing thing happened. The little mouse swam and kicked and waved so hard, that he turned the milk into butter. Once the butter was thick enough the little mouse climbed up and out of the churn and walked away with his friend. Much to the surprise of the other animals.

The moral? Well I am sure you figured that out for yourself.

Many people will (and probably have) told you to "give up, it wont work, don't make waves, go with the flow " etc. But if you want to be successful, If you REALLY want what you say you want, then you need to be like the little mouse and never give up, no matter what the other animals in the barn tell you.

I chanced upon Michael who was once a corporate office buff and was actually quite happy in the field of biotechnology up until he discovered that there's more to life besides the four walls of his sleek office. He plans to travel a lot and share his exploits in the web to his friends and relatives. He bought a tiny pocket Sony camera for the purpose of capturing each and every single moment of his travels. He learned that a camera with a built-in microphone is not enough to perform the job of quality recording. He then bought a Kodak X18 camera together with an external microphone; and that actually worked great.

When asked whether the prospect of travelling alone makes him kind of nervous, he answered coyly that it makes him a little bit excited. He added that he never feels alone being away from his family and friends while doing his travels because of the existence of social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Through these sites he plans to share his experiences alongside his website. It's that sense of freedom he says that adds to the invigorating flavor of his plan.

A huge problem now exists that which concerns logistics so as to provide the whole funding of the endeavor which he extends to accomplish. According to him, he made some research about what essential things to pack through the internet. He also plans to establish an online business making use of his expertise in the biotech industry to financially support his travels. A good friend also gave him airline tickets which gave him the privilege to travel to different countries from South America to Asia using his friend's mileage points.

Michael's endeavor is not only for his own desire to travel, enjoy and experience lots of different cultures around the world. He also included plans to incorporate philanthropic activities to his travels such as doing missions in Africa and Cambodia. Quoting him, "It's not just only about me."

When All Else Fails Just Get Out There and Talk

Well the quickest way to get customers is just to believe that they will see what you see in your business. Be passionate and not afraid. Word of mouth is powerful. If you have a product or service try getting on Facebook or MySpace. Advertise to your friends. If they are your friend they will tell their friends you do not share. What I like about the social networking aspect is they (friends) cannot say you never told me. Maybe word will spread faster than you think.

My friend started her own salsa dip company. She had fifty plus orders in a day. The day when she let her dream out. Just go out and say "I am here". O.k.. I know that is so obvious. Well then do it.

First, talk to your closest friends if you have not. Second, get out and advertise on social networks. Third, do some advertising free and otherwise. Business cards are huge. Give that to your friend. That is a conversation starter! All I am saying is "do not hide". Tell everyone you can, serve them well, and build a reputation. If they do not know they will not know. When you outsource projects, you are hiring out jobs. You may not know how to do the job. Perhaps you know, but know your skills are not what they need to be. What is friend-sourcing?

This is very similar to outsourcing, other than the actual hiring out of jobs. There are several ways you can friend-source. Some are so very common we do not think anything of it.

Very common thing we do is ask friends their opinions. We ask about movies and ask about restaurants. Now we can do that on social media such as Facebook and Twitter. How to Build Relationships With Social Networking For Online Internet Marketing

Look out! Here they come again.... You know just who I mean. You send a friend request and you get beat over the head with their business opportunity. No "Hi", "Hello", or even a "Howdy". Now you really didn't get hit on the head but your inbox is full and you mouse is heading towards the delete button.

Over the last several weeks, I have invited several people to be my friend on one of the top social networking sites. Unfortunately, there are the biz-op lurkers out there that are just waiting for someone new to spam with their biz-op. These lurkers spam unsuspecting souls out there who desire to network, make new friends and build relationships. So, let's put this in perspective.

Spamming people who have kindly sent you a friend request is just about like showing up for a blind date naked. It accomplishes nothing other than sending people running for the hills! Not a very good way to start a relationship - It will leave you standing alone and cold.

Yes, I do believe in love at first site but if my husband had asked me to marry him on the first date, I would have asked him to leave. That would have been just a bit weird. I would wondered just what kind of wacko he was and never taken the time to get to know him.

Don't make these same mistakes. Don't rob yourself of the opportunity to get to know others. The internet is a wide and amazing world full of interesting people to meet. So, take the time to get to know them. Don't make them scratch you of their friend list.

Instead become someone they look forward to getting to know. They look forward to your messages. Here are a few tips that can help you build these invaluable relationships.

Get to know them by asking questions (comment on common interests).
Share something of value (an article, and e-book, a video).
Start a dialog (ask about their family, their hobbies).

Facebook Marketing - How I Got to 1400 Facebook Friends in Under 3 Months

Getting friends and keeping them is not as easy as it is made out to be. I found that making friends was easy, go to the add sites and ask people to add you and you add a couple and away you go. If it was that easy every one would be doing it. Let's face it with all the scares out there about identity theft and making friends on Facebook has become more difficult.

I do not know about you but if I can not see who I am connecting with I do not accept the friend request, all these people that have celebs faces or mr universe, who are they and why are they trying to hide what they look like, I am not on here for a dating service I want to connect with real people. Have a nice picture of you with your family or just one of you with a nice car or in an exotic location will help. If they do not have a picture they are probably not serious about Facebook so they will not participate as much.

When you send in your friend request send a little note like "Hi Kim, we are members of the same group and I wanted to connect with like minded people" or "Hi Kim Facebook recons we should be friends and who am I to argue" (I use this one when I am being to lazy to go to groups and add friends that are more targeted to my niche)

Facebook monitors your friend requests and will shut you down if you grow your friend list too fast so I would recommend only sending between 20-30 Facebook friend requests a day. You do not want to have your account closed down and loses all that hard work.

You will also get some friend requests as your friend list grows. When this starts happening you must thank them for their friendship and build a relationship from day one. Let them know about you and even direct them to your personal website. This should not be a lead capture page just a site about you and what you do. You have now started to build the know, like and trust element of the relation ship.

Your personal information should be current and inviting. It is no good having a TV show that has not seen prime time in a couple of months/years and have a list of all your sites or blogs available for people to look at, great way to drive traffic is to keep changing them and Facebook will notify your friends that you have updated your personnel information.

Status updates, this is very important. People do not want to know what you have for lunch everyday - ok so maybe some do. Tell them interesting things about what you are doing and how you would be able to help them. Tell them about your blog post what you are up to and put ion some useful links. Now I did mention the useful links, do not push your products here to much or you will looses friends. Use the 1-10 rule so for every 9 updates you can make your tenth a link to your offer.

You will need to go online at least 3 times a day making comments on wall post and status updates, changing your status and thanking people for connecting with you.

Remember treat your Facebook friends how you would like to be treated, posting your opportunity all over your friends wall will not help you. This is a social network, network and get a good group of responsive friends.
