Stay at Home Dads Can Run a Successful Online Business From Home!

If you are a stay at home dad, you might be wondering what your options are for running a business at home. Rather than opening up a daddy day care center it's possible to make a great amount of income sitting at your home computer while also watching your little ones while your wife works her full time job.

Stay at home dads and mums can run a successful online business with the right tools and knowledge. It's important to choose the right opportunity as there are many scams out there that could end up costing you much more than you make.

A great way for stay at home dads and mums to make money online is to create a successful online business writing SEO articles. There is a strong demand for articles, website content and product descriptions out there and if you have the ability to write at least 5-10 articles a day, you can make a great amount of income from home. You might have to start out making very little for each article you write, but once you have shown that you are reliable and can submit great work and get good feedback, you can start charging more for your writing services.

Don't run a daddy day care service when you can write a few articles a day and spend the remainder of your day playing with your kids. Creating your own website to sell your article writing services can be a great way to expand your writing business and turn your operation into a successful online business. Some writers also do very well using freelance websites in order to get their work. You can find many freelance options online and you could also try partnering up with another website that will help you find writing jobs that pay a lot more than freelance websites do.

Once you build up a great reputation and have mastered your article writing skills, you can hire freelancers to do the work for you. Taking a small profit from each of the articles you assign and proofread is a way to make money by hardly doing anything at all. It can be very difficult to find a reliable writer to work for you online so it is important that you keep your schedule open so that you can pick up any slack if a writer decides to disappear and not finish the work you've assigned to them.

There are many other ways to make a successful online business for stay at home dads and mums. A daddy day care might be for you, but if you would rather find a more profitable and simpler solution to make money from home, doing your research and finding a reputable opportunity that doesn't cost much to start up is a great way to begin.

7 Musts When Starting a Business Online

I was asked this yesterday - what are the "must do" things when starting a business online. It was asked at a seminar I was attending and when someone asked me from the floor during a Q&A session, I really had to answer without giving any prior thought to my response. As happens in those situations, the answer comes directly from the heart. Consequently, I thought I would share my answer with all of you. So, my 7 "Must Dos" are:

Be determined and have great will power. Starting a business online is not a get rich quick scheme, despite what you hear during various product launches, which can be all hype and no substance. There is no such thing as a push button, instant success program or software. Trust me - it does not exist. Making money online is a great industry but you need to have determination and will power to withstand the early humps and bumps and frustration of not seeing the money coming in. Persevere, and it will come!

Use WordPress for your site. It is a great product and easy to use. It is highly flexible and you do not have to be a programmer or any sort of technical genius to work with it. (I can use it, so that proves that point!)

Know your target market. Sounds obvious, but often ignored. Let me take an example to make the point here. You have decided that you are going to target all Harley Davidson owners, and that is great. So, you know your market - right? Well, maybe! You know who they are, but do you know how they like to be communicated with? How often? Do they prefer detailed technical material or exciting news? What style of writing will you have to adapt to really connect with them? So on and so on... you need to know answers to these sort of questions before you can say that you know your market.

Know how you are going to get targeted traffic. Please note that I said "targeted", and that is critical. So what methods of traffic generation do you have to undertake to generate the traffic from the audience that you are targeting. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to driving traffic to your site.

Get a good domain name. Ideally, if you can get one with the keywords in it. However, that is not always possible. But get one that reflects how you want to be perceived by your target market.

Focus on quality content for your site. I cannot overstate the importance of this. Quality content is critical. Content is not, and I repeat NOT just there to load up with keywords for your ranking. In fact doing this is detrimental to your site. Also, you will end up with silly content as you are working around your keywords and not focusing on the content. If you are uncomfortable writing, then hire someone to do it for you. There are plenty available in various places like Elance and ODesk, but, a word of warning, get sight of their work before you commission them to do it for you. There are many there who do not have English as their first language and it can really show. But good ones are there, and it is not expensive.

Have a plan. Anyone who has come across my material before will know how passionate I am about this. This is a business, so treat it as one. Invest the time in making a detailed plan of action, and then stick to it.

So, they are my magnificent 7 "must dos" when starting a business online. Are there others? Yes, but if you do these then you are well on your way!

What Equipment Do I Need to Start My Home Baking Business?

What Equipment Do I Need to Start My Baking Business?

Here's the good news: using only the most basic equipment, found in most home kitchens, you can begin to bake for profit today!

What Do You Consider "Basic Equipment"?

1. An oven - your basic home oven will usually do fine. If you are buying a new oven consider choosing a convection oven as it will be a great asset. However, I have done all of my baking with a regular home oven. My mother has two wonderful convection ovens in her kitchen and I get to use those occasionally when I visit her.

2. A mixer - What kind of mixer do you need? A commercial mixer is totally unnecessary (I have one, a giant Hobart, which I rarely use). Any mixer will be a great benefit.

A company called Bosch makes a wonderful mixer. The center column makes it a little harder to clean. Your baking results, however, will be impressive. I have a Bosch which is great for bread baking and almost anything else you want to bake.

I also have a Kitchen Aid stand mixer which I use almost daily. I like it best for cookies and cakes.

Other Equipment Found in Most Kitchens:
A large bowl.
Measuring cups and measuring spoons.
A cookie sheet.
A loaf pan (you can always free-form your loaves if you don't have one).
Muffin pans
Cake pans - round, 13"x9", or half sheet. (Remember: use what you have!)
A nut chopper will be a great time and frustration saver. A food processor will work well too!

Kitchen Scale
A basic scale will be a great addition to your baking business. It will give you better accuracy and consistency in your products. I use one that handles weights up to 10 pounds.

Personal Favorites - Things I Have Used The Most
In my baking business I have used a 16 inch round cake pan more than any other baking pan. I have used it almost exclusively to make party cookies. I have a 1/4 sheet and a 1/2 sheet cake pan that I used until I finally wore them out and had to purchase others. A jelly roll pan has also been a great benefit - although I have never actually made a jelly roll. I also have a set of round pans and a set of heart-shaped pans which have been wonderful to have.

I recommend that you start with what you have on hand because that is what you already use and are familiar with. You can then add equipment as your business grows and as the need for other equipment presents itself.

Happy Baking,
Reda

How To Avoid Get Rich Quick Schemes and Make Great Money Working From Home

The number of people who are choosing to run a business from home whilst remaining in their current job is growing quite rapidly. The reason that so many people are looking to make money online is order that they can meet or their financial requirements. However one needs to be careful and know how to avoid scams when it comes to working from home that can end up not only costing you a great deal of money but also time.

In this article we will show you how to avoid scams in order that you can then make great money working from home.

The best way of avoiding any type of dishonest home business company is to learn as much as you can about the company. There are numerous companies today who will offer to sell you the materials and the training in order for you to employ yourself. There isn't any need for you to go through these companies. Instead what you do is take a look at the products they are selling and see how successful they have been doing it. Also don't be afraid to ask others what they think and know about this company.

Ask For Specific Details

Before you go ahead and spend money on any materials or to join a program you should make sure that you have all of the details. It doesn't matter if they provide the information to you via email or that they arrange for you to talk to someone by phone you will know the company is good if they are willing to take the time out to speak to you about what it is they are offering. If a company or program you are considering starting is unresponsive to your initial requests you can be sure they will be even less responsive after they have your money.

List the Questions You Have About the Program

Prior to making contact it is a good idea to list down any questions you may have which you can then use to see how legitimate the company is or not. Okay doing all of this may seem a bit over the top but it could actually end up saving you hundreds or even thousands of dollars because you won't have joined a working from home scam.

When it comes to knowing how to avoid scams and make great money working from home be very wary of any company that claims that they can make you rich quick. If you really want to be able to make good money from an online business you know that things take time. You have to dedicate time to not only setting up but running your business in order that you can gain a reputation where people will begin to respect and trust what you have to say. Too often with these get rich quick schemes is the person that is running them is looking to just take your money and run. Leaving you with nothing but the thought that you shouldn't have trusted them.

If something seems too good to be true it probably is. When you read a get rich quick scheme it is designed to appeal to basic human greed.

Avoiding [http://homejobscorp.com/how-to-avoid-scams-and-make-great-money-working-from-...]home job scams can be done by not acting on emotion and take the time and effort to do more research.

The Chameleons Have All The Wealth

Learn more about people than you do about products and you will be wealthy. I don't know who to credit that statement to because I've heard so many great and wealthy people state it, but all I know is that it's true. I don't care if you're a CEO with 1 or 100 employees, a solo entrepreneur, a homeschooling mom of 6, a college professor, or sitting in a cubicle hiding out from your micro managing boss. If you want to be successful in any area of your life you must begin to learn more about other people... because, hold on to your hats... it's not them, it really is YOU!

Your one and only job is to understand WHO you are talking to and to speak to them in the language that they understand. Now this will require you to step outside of your comfort zone. Yes, you will have to learn new skills but you can learn them, it's not hard at all. In this article I will give you a brief overview of the four personality types that you will most likely encounter.

Not only will you encounter these personality types in others but you also already possess them yourself. Many trainers and leaders have taught these using colors, or elements, gems, shoes, cars, food and I'm sure some others that I haven't heard of yet but the simplest for me is the colors. Yellow, red, blue, and green. What exactly does this mean? This is not only important to understand other people but also in understanding yourself. Why do you do the things you do and say? Why you always have friction with THAT person, it's pretty cool once you understand it. Anyway let's begin.

Yellows, which make up 35% of the population, are generally indirect in their communication and open with regards to their relationships. They want to know all about you. Some of their strengths are they are fabulous listeners, dependable, very nurturing, patient, systematic and have a strong desire to help others. Some of their weaknesses are that they are overly sensitive, lack self confidence, aren't assertive and they tend to avoid conflicts which makes them easy doormats.

Blues, make up 15% of the population and are generally direct in their communication and open in their relationships. They are the life of the party and if you want to keep their attention then you better make it fun! They will give you their opinion without being asked and tend to be the ones who everyone is attracted to. Why? Because their FUN. Some of their strengths are they are great motivators, have high energy, are persuasive and can tell a great story. Some of their weaknesses are they have short attention spans, can be unfocused, unorganized and talk way too much.

Green, make up 35% of the population, and are generally indirect in their communication and closed with regards in their relationships. Greens want the facts and that's all! They want all their questions answered and then and only then will they make a decision. Greens tend to be very organized, follow the rules, are punctual, detailed oriented and will carry out a task to the letter. Some of their weaknesses are that they tend to procrastinate, are hard to please, over think most things and are prone to depression.

Finally, that leaves the Reds, which are 15% of the population. They are direct in their communication and closed in their relationships. These are the A type personalities and they are driven by the challenge. The world revolves around them and you are lucky to have met them. Some of their strengths are they are leaders, confident, focused, competitive, aggressive, goal and task oriented. Some of their weakness are they tend to be impatient, have huge egos, and can be seen as obnoxious, although a Red would be offended if you implied they had flaws.

That's it in a nutshell. What color are you? There are books and entire workshops that go much deeper in the personality types but this is a great start. Once you can identify where you fall among the four personalities then you can learn HOW to relate to the other three. Keep in mind that we all possess these personalities but we have one that is definitely more dominant and that's the one we need to understand. Your product isn't soap, juice, silver, lipstick, pots and pans or coffee. Your product is people...learn more about people than your product and you will become wealthy. Using The Marketing Free Offer

What are you currently offering your potential clients for free? Do you have at least one irresistible offer that will make your ideal clients feel like they need to sign up (i.e. opt in) right away so that they can access this great information?

If not, then you are doing your business a great disservice. Giving at least one killer offer to your potential clients for free is the surest (and easiest) way to turn them into actual paying clients.

Your irresistible free offer should be just that... something your ideal clients can't NOT sign up for. You need to be sure that you've hit their "hot button" issue: something for free that solves a problem for them and alleviates their pain. And the more urgent the problem you can solve for them, the better!

Your free offer will work in your favor in many ways. First, you position yourself as an expert. When a person is on your list, it gives you a chance to show off your expertise. And people buy from people whom they perceive as an expert-someone who is skilled at something that they themselves need to learn to move forward.

The second part of the puzzle is that you start to create a relationship with your potential clients. And in this modern age of marketing, this is the name of the game!

Entrepreneur=Relationship-Builder

You now know that the best thing you can do as a business owner is to have a great, core free offer. But the key is to KEEP giving your potential clients great free information until they turn into actual paying clients.

Why does this work?

Because while you are giving away these great freebies, you are building a relationship and creating trust with your potential clients while simultaneously cementing your expert status.

Let's face it: everyone is bombarded with advertisements from companies wanting them to part with their money. The surest way to get and hold a potential client's attention is to create and cultivate this all-important relationship.

Would you rather buy from a friend (someone you trust), or someone you don't know from Adam?

It is your number one job as an entrepreneur to create and cultivate this all-important relationship, so that you become that someone your potential clients come to trust.

Now, it's important to remember that some people may become purchase a product or service of yours after receiving your first freebie offer. Some may be on your list for a little while and because or your relationship with them, purchase later on. Some will take longer still (some even years!), and others (let's face it) will never buy (but hey, you can't win them all).

Keep that in mind as you move along with your email marketing efforts. Don't get discouraged when most people don't buy from your right away. Keep give these people great information (from a place of not expecting anything in return) and building the relationship and you will see your efforts really pay off!

It's important to keep in mind that often times it's the accumulation of free information that forms a that sought-after relationship with your potential clients.

You will quickly see that once you have created and nurtured this relationship, your potential clients will be more than happy to open their wallets and pay for what you have to offer.

It's all in the List

As I stated above, the number one thing you can do for your business is to build your list. And what's the number one way to build your list? To give potential clients that irresistible free offer!

With the advent of the internet, people have become accustomed to finding free information online. Give them something that they can't say no to. Get them on your list and then keep giving them great freebies and offering them great service.

When you give people your free offer, you need to set it up in such a way that the only way they can access the free offer is by signing up for it (opting-in) either on your website, your blog, or facebook page. This is non-negotiable!

In order to have your opt-in forms, autoresponders, and your email marketing campaigns set up properly, you need to use a reputable email marketing company. I use Aweber, but there are other companies out there to use as well.

If you don't currently have an email marketing company, you need to run, not walk over to Google (or at least your fingers do) and sign up for one. Most offer a free trial period (their free offer!) and you can start out paying as little as ten to twenty dollars per month. Since this is a necessity for your marketing efforts, it's an expense that's well worth the money.

After the Opt-in

Once your potential clients are on your list, the key is to make them an integral part of your list through email marketing. The most successful entrepreneurs (especially those of us in a service business) send emails to their lists on a daily basis. If you feel more comfortable sending emails twice weekly instead of daily, go ahead and do so, but I don't recommend doing it less often than that to be truly effective.

These emails should include: free offers, current discounts, current products or services you are offering, a weekly newsletter, and you can even send an email containing your weekly blog post.

Now, it's important to remember that some people may become purchase a product or service of yours after receiving your first freebie offer. Some may be on your list for a little while and because or your relationship with them, will eventually make a purchase. Some will take longer still (some even years!), and others (let's face it) will never buy (but hey, you can't win them all).

Keep that in mind as you move along with your email marketing efforts. Don't get discouraged when most people don't buy from your right away. Keep give these people great information (and come from a place of not expecting anything in return) and building the relationship and you will see your efforts really pay off!

It's important to keep in mind that often times it's the accumulation of free information that forms a that sought-after relationship with your potential clients.

What To Offer

With the advent of the internet, people have become accustomed to finding free information online. Give them something that they can't say no to. Get them on your list and then keep giving them great freebies and offering them great service.

Here's a list of what your potential offer could be:

Ebook
Live Teleseminar or Webinar
A Recording of a Teleseminar or Webinar
Private Coaching
Trial Offer
Free CD
Worksheet

This is a list of the most commonly used forms, but really any great free information that a potential clients finds irresistible will work.

Other Free Offers

If you are doing your marketing properly, then you shouldn't be just offering one freebie. Rather, you need to be offering your potential clients other great free information as well.

This should also include (at minimum) marketing basic such as blog posts and a weekly email newsletter. You should also be adding great information daily to your Facebook page and on Twitter (even if it's a post to another great blog post you happened to find).

3 Great Self Employment Ideas That Do Not Cost Much To Get Started

There are many reasons that you might want to leave the workforce to be self-employed. There are a lot of self employment ideas that you can consider that do not cost much. Some of the reasons that people have for leaving work is that they feel too much stress, do not get paid enough, are bored, or even just want to do it on their own.

These ideas are some of the best things to do if you want to work for yourself. The problem for a lot of people is not knowing how to go about starting their business or even what business would be right for them.

7 More Tips If You Want to Make Money at Home Online

The reaction to my article yesterday on 7 Tips if You Want to Make Money at Home Online has been great! It obviously touched a nerve and prompted a great response from readers who have come back with their own tips. So, thank you and I promised I would share these, so here they are!

Set regular hours: Be disciplined about the number of hours you will work every day and be very clear about your start and end time. Don't get into the habit of starting and finishing "when the mood takes you" A sure-fire way to end up getting nothing done and feeling frustrated.

Close your door: When working from home, having an "open door" policy that is much vaunted in the office workplace simply does not work. You need to close your door to separate you from the rest of the house, which is clearly not a workplace.

Set down rules for others: Just because you work from home does not make you available on a permanent basis, either to your children or your partner. You need to set down rules and boundaries for the others who share your home as to when they can and cannot interrupt you. Unless you do this you will be driven to distraction and your ability to focus on a particular piece of work will be impossible.

Keep work area tidy: This came in from quite a lot of people who make their money at home online, or even offline, and I do go along with it. An untidy workspace leads to untidy work. You know that sounds like something my poor old mother used to say and I would roll my eyes up to heaven when she said it, but it is true. Have a clear workspace and file everything away where it should be. One thing I do really agree with is that your desk is the worst filing space you have!

Keep going even if it's tough: You will have the days when you just don't feel like it. You are just not in the mood, and you just cannot seem to get any good ideas. Do not goof off and justify it by declaring that your creative juices are just not flowing today! The old saying "when the going gets tough, the tough get going" has to kick in here. Even if you feel completely empty, stick to your routine. Running away from any problem never solved anything, so be resilient.

Keep an ideas notebook: I think this is a great one! Keep a notebook handy at all times where you can jot down some ideas or thoughts that pop into your head. If you don't write them down, the chances are you will forget them and that is an awful waste of an idea! Sometimes your best ideas just come in flashes when you are doing something completely different. Do not lose those ideas, but you will if you have not got somewhere to capture it. Great idea from one of my readers!

Allocate routine tasks to specific days: This is a really good discipline, and, being honest, it has come from a reader, not me! The suggestion is that we have routine tasks - like doing our accounts, measuring our key statistics, filing away stuff, and other things that we must do on a weekly basis. Set out a particular day in the week when these are done and be diligent about it. I think this is a good idea and a Friday afternoon seems like a good time for me to do these things. The advantage is that I can then start my weekend knowing that those routine tasks have been dealt with for this week.

Thanks to all of you for your response and keep them coming. As you send me more little nuggets that help all of us that want to make money at home online, I will share them with everyone. The challenge now is not just to nod your head in agreement at some or all of them but to decide which ones you are going to take as your own and improve your performance.
