Researching People On The Internet

Using the internet to research people can be very helpful in some situations. Looking up a name on the internet can determine a few things. It can even determine if a person who filled out a job application will get the job or not.

A lot of businesses use this method on a potential employee. They can type the name of the person on the internet to see if there is anything bad such as a criminal record. Seeing how criminal records can be made public depending on the offense it is easy to get access. Companies have been using the internet to research people who want to be employed with them for years now. The method is a proven success to determine who the best person for the job is.

Even police departments use the internet to research people. They can type your name in and almost instantly find out where you live and other important and helpful information. Usually when someone is on the run or has broken a serious law this is when the police types in the offender name.

It is very easy to do. If someone is looking for a person or needs any information then all a person needs is a first and last name. Once you type the name in there is usually a lot of information about the person. Depending on how common a person name is you might need a little more information such as a middle name or birth date. Using the internet to research people is a very common thing for people to do.

Ideas For A Home Based Business - The Fear Factor - Part 3 of 4

In part 2 of this series we examined 3 different ideas for a home based business and stressed the importance of doing research on the ideas that interest you. In this article we look at how to do the research and managing the fear or concerns that can crop up.

How much research should you do? This is a very good question and deserves to be elaborated on. Assuming you are doing the searching online, you will want to read as many articles and posts, or view videos that you can until you get a consistent understanding of the business. For example, if you search on "avon MLM" in Google, you will see a long list of titles returned. Read or view as many of these as possible until you find your not learning anything new. Most of the posts, videos and articles are short, so it won't take long to get through them.

In many cases you will find posts or articles that say in effect "To find out more about... click here". These are links to an individuals Landing Page where they ask you to enter your name and email on a form and click submit to receive additional information of some kind. You might be thinking "no way" because I'll get a ton of junk or spam email, or some freak calling me if I enter my phone number. These are totally normal concerns, but they are wrong. Regrettably, these fears are often a show stopper for people researching ideas for a home based business.

First, I would agree that you probably don't want to enter your real phone number unless you really do want to receive a phone call. Even if you did get a call, it would simply be from the individual or a representative of the company and they will simply want to answer your questions. For now, just put in a fake phone number. Second, create a new email address specifically for your research and use it when filling out any landing pages. Also, use a fake first name that includes a hint of the business you're researching, and no last name in the "Name" field of the landing page. For example: JaneAvon or JohnMoneyMkr. Do not provide any personally sensitive information such as social security numbers or financial information. If they are asking for that, it's likely a scam. When researching ideas for a home based business, using the fake name can help identify which company is sending you the emails.

After filling out this form you will usually be taken to another web page that provides the report or video promised which will contain additional information about the company. You will also receive an email once a day, or less, offering additional information, options to join webinars where you can ask questions to members, and other promotional material. Take a look at the material you're getting and join the webinars if they offer them. Again, there is no risk here since you are not paying for anything and are remaining anonymous. They are not going to spam your email with junk because they want you to join them, not get angry with them. Also, each email you receive should have an option for you to un-subscribe from their mailing list if you wish. Use these techniques to gather as much information as you can regarding ideas for a home based business you are interested in. You should also email the sponsor or representative to make sure they reply and answer your questions.

Be sure to read Part 4 of this series to learn of additional research methods when looking at ideas for a home based business.

Find People Through Online Mediums

When you're trying to find people with the onset of the internet, search engines are probably the first place you start looking. While major search engines are your first stop, they're not your only option. There are new, improved ways online that help you find the person you want by name, location, or where they work.

Since there are so many ways to search for people online, there really isn't one perfect way to do so. In order to be successful in your search, you have to do a bit of research. When visiting any one of these sites you'll most likely be able to conduct an initial search. However, in order to get complete information you'll need to pay a fee.

While it may seem a bit overwhelming to think that your information could be listed online so freely, it is. This makes cautiously posting your personal information online all the more important. You can search anyone's home address, phone number and other information such as bankruptcies or legal judgments online. You will find websites that cater to this and will list phone numbers that are both listed and unlisted.

Doing a simple search online on a search engine will most likely not give you the same results. This is especially true if the person you're looking for does not have celebrity status. However, these specialized sites will gather information about the individual you're looking for through various networking sites, and other information made public.

Since a lot of people are using social networking sites, there is a single website that compiles all social sites. This means that if the person you're looking for is on any of these sites you can find them much easier. This will also save you time because you don't have to search individual sites yourself.

Major search engines are not totally irrelevant when you're searching for people. However, you have to know how to use them properly in order to get the results you're looking for. You can maximize your results by making sure you use quotation marks before the beginning of the first name and after the last name.

If you want to find people using ordinary search engines, place relevant terms after the last name. These terms can include a title they have from work, or even the industry they're in. If you know where the person works you may want to search the business' website for information.

When you need to [http://www.people-search-find-usa.com]find people, the Internet is a great way to look quickly and easily. A [http://www.people-search-find-usa.com]people search can be accomplished in a matter of minutes.

Freelance Your Way Into Financial Freedom by Working Online

There are so many ways people are making a living for themselves and their families today that it's just impossible to mention even a fraction of those methods here. As the society makes progress, the number of options when it comes to earning also increases. The latest addition to these options comes from the World Wide Web.

The number of people that are working over the Internet (or at list with help of it) is increasing on daily basis, and it's going to be like that for a long time to come. Number of jobs is so vast that these can cover almost every aspect of human society, and one of the most common ways people are making money over the Internet is freelancing.

All of you probably know what is freelancing. It is a process where a person presents his skills and experience to potential employers and eventually gets picked to do something for them. When the job is complete, the employee gets paid from the employer and the cycle repeats again.

There are many websites specialized for people looking for freelance work as well as those that are offering it. You may have heard about some of them, but all of them are functioning in more or less the same principle.

When a person wants to apply for freelance work on a website specialized in it, the first thing that needs to be done is to fill out a detailed profile form. These forms are actually pretty similar to the CV (Curriculum Vitae) forms.

Your profile should contain all of your basic information, starting with a name, last name, location of birth, nationality etc. Usually the following is your education information; this may include your schools and colleges as well as courses you completed.

Besides this, you should also mark the types of jobs you are seeking, that way you will become visible to the employers looking for that type of worker. You will also be able to put reference to your previous jobs and deeds (which can also mean a lot for you) and your personal feelings about yourself, jobs, employers etc.

You should take your time and think twice about everything you are putting on your profile, if you are boasting with no actual reason you will be busted sooner than you know it, and will be marked as a fraud. This will do you no good and you might as well start thinking about starting from scratch.

When you are done with all of this, the only thing left for you to do is to apply yourself for the jobs you find interesting and wait for the reply. When someone likes what you have to offer, work can start, and so can the earning.

Going Online to Find Tools for Finding Contact Information

When you research contact information, most websites will require at least a last name. It is easier to find the person if you know a first name and an approximate location, for instance the state they live in. It will bring up everybody with the same last name if you only use a last name. They may even ask for an approximate age.

The more you can narrow the search down, the more likely you will be able to find the right person you are looking for. Some websites will bring up a phone number. Others may bring up an address where the person lives and sometimes an email address. Remember when searching that there may be another person by the same name living in another part of the country. So if you know that the person lives in Michigan but it brings up somebody living in California, it's probably not the same person. There are a lot of websites that offer this free of charge.

Others will charge you to give you the information. Something else you should keep in mind is that these websites will list any address or phone number that they have for that person and you may have to narrow your search down. One way to find the websites that will help you is to do a search. Some examples of searches that would bring these up are people search, find phone numbers or find address. If you are looking for a business, you can just type the business name right in the search engine.

Rina thinks that [http://www.flowtown.com]social media tools are a great way to look people up.

Verifying Your eBay Account

Being a verified member of eBay actually opens a lot of doors, including the opportunity of adding a variety of credit cards to your account. You also have the opportunity of placing bid amounts of more than 15,000 dollars, get to participate in "adults only" auctions and also sell your products using the Best Offer feature.

Steps to verifying your eBay account:

First register for an eBay account - in order to sign up for your eBay account, head on to the "Registration page". Then enter in the following:
 First name
 Last name
 Street address
 City
 Zip code
 Telephone number
 Email address

Make sure you choose your eBay password very carefully. Choose a password that no one, not even the people who know you would think of. One of the best and strongest passwords that you can use is a bunch of numbers and a word - do not use a word that makes sense. For example "z210hx41" is a awesome password; no one will guess that. Using the name of your pet, first child, favorite food etc are all big No-No's. Choose a random word and include some figures and Tada! You have a strong password.

Then, enter the captcha code, which is simply a security device that ensures that you are not an automated machine. In order to signup for an eBay account, you have to be 8 years or more. Ensure that you read the terms of service and agree on them, the next step is to click on "register" in order to continue. You can get a new captcha code if you are unable to read the one before you.

A page will inform you that you will need to check your email in order to continue with the eBay registration process. This simply confirms that you own the email account and that you are truly who you say you are. Check your email account (the account you registered on eBay with) - this is the final stage.

 Verifying your eBay account
Sign-in to your eBay account then simply access "Seller Central" -in this section, you will find a link to signup for your ID verification.

Begin the ID verification process agreeing to eBay's terms and conditions. You will be 5 dollars, which will be added to your eBay bill.

Ensure that you verify your contact information which includes your phone number - please know that a phone call will be required in order to complete verification. The eBay system pulls out your credit file so as to verify your identity. Also be very prepared to answer sensitive information such as your auto loan payment cost or mortgage cost.

Complete the questionnaire and wait for a telephone call from eBay. This company employs the services of a third party verification company in order to verify your telephone number. As soon as you receive the phone call and your identity confirmed, you will become eBay verified and you will have the opportunity of accessing additional features.

Chris Bowser has a passion for everything eBay. Chris has mastered how to use eBay and as a result he now lives a life where he is his own CEO. Setting Up a Home Office - Tips For a Successful Home Based Business Office

So you have decided to take the plunge and finally start running a business from home. Congratulations! You are already ahead of the game because you have taken that all important first step. You are an action taker and you should be commended for that. Too many people get stuck in that, "Boy I sure wish I could run my own business." phase. Now that you have decided to start your own business, you need to get your house in order-literally. Your needs are going to change drastically now that you are an entrepreneur. The rest of this article will tell you what you need to have in your home office in order to run a successful business from home.

Your Workspace

You must have somewhere to work. This can be a corner in the bedroom, a spare room, or the dining room table after dinner. As long as you have a desk and a chair, you are in business. Of course as you get more clients you can upgrade to a fancier chair and desk. Get a good chair as soon as you can. Your back will thank you for it later since you will be spending a lot of time in that chair in the first months of your business.

Your Equipment

You need some basic supplies to run a successful business from home. You have to have a computer. Now I'm not going to get into this debate about whether to buy a PC or a MAC. That is not the purpose of this article. I will say to buy whichever type of machine you are already familiar with using. If you've been using a PC at work, then buy a PC. If you're comfortable using MACs get a MAC. Just get something that you can use without a huge learning curve. The last thing you need slowing you down is having technical issues because you are trying to learn how to use a new machine.

You also need a dedicated phone line with voice mail that only you answer. You can get a separate phone line or you can get a prepaid cell phone that is for business purposes only. There are also companies that provide free voice mail accounts on the web. Just go to google and type in free voice mail and you'll find a ton of places to choose from. Whichever method you choose, make sure it is something that only you have access to. I know I said this twice, but it is worth repeating, especially if you don't live by yourself.

Depending on the type of work you do, you'll want to have a printer. If you don't require a lot of printing in the course of doing your work, you may be able to get away without a printer for a little while. If you're doing work such as desktop publishing or graphic design, however, a printer is a must. Get the best printer you can afford. This is not the area you want to be cheap in as your reputation will often be defined by the quality of your work. If your work looks shoddy you won't get many repeat clients.

If you don't have your website set up yet, you at least need to have a professional sounding email address. No one is going to take you seriously if your email address is bunny123 at some domain.com at all. It is better to use your first and last name as your email handle. That makes you look a lot better. Of course the best thing is to get your own hosting and use that. If you can't do that at least get a Gmail account.

Running a business from home can be an exciting adventure. It can also be a profitable one. You just have to get started off on the right foot. Following some of the ideas in this article will put you on the right track indeed.

Beware of Fraudulent E-mails

A little while ago, a client sent me this message:

"Hi. I just received an official looking e-mail from my small business payment processor that looked suspicious. It said that the company noticed fraudulent activity on my account and wanted me to log-in to verify that the account was mine. For my protection, it said, the account would be on hold until I verified the account. I have a lot of clients paying me online through that processor and can't afford to have my account suspended. I clicked the link in the e-mail. The company's homepage and a form popped up asking me to enter my ATM card number, user name, password and social security number in order to verify and unlock my account. I was hesitant to put all that information in there, so I took another look at the e-mail. The e-mail address sending the e-mail was from my payment processor, but there were a lot of spelling errors in the e-mail. It also said 'Dear Sir.' Usually e-mails from this company say 'Dear Company Name.' I don't know if it's really official, but I don't want to lose my online payment privileges. What do I do?"

Have any of you received similar e-mails? They appear to be from your bank, payment processor or credit card company, but something always seems suspicious. Well, you are right to be wary of those e-mails. The practice of using an "official" looking e-mail address to gain client information is called spoofing or phishing. Read on to learn how to protect yourself from these fraudulent e-mails.

According to the Anti-Phishing Workgroup, a group of people dedicated to stopping these e-mail scams, "phishing attacks use 'spoofed' e-mails and fraudulent websites designed to fool recipients into divulging personal financial data such as credit card numbers, account usernames and passwords, social security numbers, etc. By hijacking the trusted brands of well-known banks, online retailers and credit card companies, phishers are able to convince up to 5% of recipients to respond to them."

With a little knowledge, you can recognize a spoofing or phishing attempt and not be fooled.

- Beware of any e-mails asking for personal information. Banks and online retailers rarely, if ever, ask clients to change personal information via a link in an e-mail. Instead of following the e-mail link, call the company on the phone or log-in directly by typing the web address into your browser.

- Be wary of any "official" looking e-mail that does not address you personally. Most spoofed e- mails address you in general terms, such as Dear Sir or Madam, or even by your e-mail user name. Legitimate banks and retailers will have your name on file and address you by your first and/or last name.

- Always make sure the browser is secure before entering personal information. The URL should read https:// if it is secure, not http://

- Check the destination of the URL before you click it. You can do this by running your cursor over the URL. In most e-mail programs, a little yellow box will pop up showing you the destination. Other times you can check the left of your browser's status bar. That is the gray bar at the bottom of the web browser. If the URL says anything except: https:// www. yourbankname.com

...there is a problem.

-Do not download suspicious looking attachments. Even if it looks to be from your bank, most likely it is a computer virus.

If you've received a spoofed e-mail, report it to the real company. Citibank, for example, has an e-mail address where they accept forwards of all phished e- mails using the Citibank name.

What if you've already clicked the link and given out your personal information? You could likely be the victim of credit card fraud, bank account theft, or even identity theft. rel=nofollow [http://www.antiphishing.org/consumer_recs2.htm]Visit Anti-Phishing.org for some tips on what to do if you are in this situation. Overall, be suspicious of any e-mail asking for your personal information. With the appropriate knowledge, you will not be fooled.
