How to Start a Cell Phone Business

Starting a cell phone business can't be any easier. If you're a go getter like me then you have to check this out. There are a lot of business opportunities out there. So picking the right one can be a little nerve-racking. First thing to do would be to come up with a business plan. Write it down on scratch paper. Second thing I recommend would be to set your goals for your new business. Third part, how much money does it take to get started? Many newbie's always think about financing. Do not think of cost, because if you do you will never get on with your business plan. Try to put cost to the back of your head.

Starting a cell phone business should be simple and precise. I'm not telling you this because others have told me so. I personally run my own business; yes it takes some work to get off the ground. Guess what once it's off the ground and working then it just takes a couple of hours a week to keep it running. Act now don't wait till later do it now. Thinking about it and writing down plans on paper or typing it in your word pad. Do anything you think of toward your business. But don't procrastinate. Grab the bull by the horns, get things done. The cell phone business in my opinion is the easiest business to get into. How many people have cell phones, every soul on this planet has one? Grandma Grandpa, wife, husband, sister brother neighbor your name it they've got it. Stop working for someone building their business. Start working on your own business.

Build it slowly a little at a time. The time you have is priceless. I'm not saying to quit your job. Work just part-time at your at home kitchen counter business. Yes start off on the kitchen counter. You know what, a lot of businesses start that way. What about Bill Gates for instance. He started off in his mom and pops garage building junky computers. My hero, a kid who persisted onward and forward until he finally found the formula. Yes, Microsoft Windows. I can't say enough about his relentless drive to success. How about Steve Jobs, Apple computers. Remember something these were just kids in a garage having fun tinkering with bread boards and microchips. It doesn't matter how young or old you are. I believe everyone has the potential to become successful. Let me tell you something. I started a medical business and low and behold it was off and running so fast that I couldn't keep up with it. I had to let it go or quit my job and actively continue it permanently. Every week a new contract, next thing I needed help, before you know it I was off and running. It was too much for me. I guess the catering business would be about the same. Running up and down the street. If that's the kind of business you're interested in then go for it. Whatever floats your boat? My best advice is doing something you love. Something that doesn't take a lot of work, easy to maintain.

My philosophy is this. If you're working too hard it's not worth it. There's always something easier that pays a little or a lot more, for less work than you're doing now. We are not trying to reinvent the well. Learn how to start a business using cell phones.

7 Ways to Stay on Task and Get More Done

It's 9:30 P.M. and you're exhausted. You've been working all day...or at least you've felt like you've been working all day...but you have little to show for all your time. Projects are still sitting partially done, items on your "to do" list aren't marked off, the phone calls you meant to return weren't made...

And yet it's 9:30 PM, you've been at it for eight or more hours, and you're exhausted.

Huh? What gives?

Simply this:

Technology, while a wonderful thing (I sure wouldn't want to be without it), bombards us from every direction. It surrounds us, entices us and often robs us of our focus. We can become totally absorbed, spend huge amounts of time flitting from one task to another and can end up spinning our wheels all day long without even realizing it.
Chris Brogan of Entrepreneur Magazine claims we have a "new attention deficit disorder" of our own making. And he claims the machines that surround us and permit us to be thousand times more productive than the previous generation are the cause.

He makes the case that instead of plopping down on the couch with a bag of Doritos to wile away the evening in front of our televisions, we seem to spend every spare moment (and then some!) on our computers and phones. I agree these constant distractions pull our focus away from the task at hand, leaving us constantly "busy". And since technology is here to stay, I believe it's important that we take a proactive approach to keeping distractions at a minimum. If I may offer a few suggestions:

1. Habits make or break us. First and foremost, realize that much of what we embrace on a daily basis has come to us gradually...and become habit. Begin replacing those habits with new, more effective behaviors. Remember, it's going to take time, repetition, and DISCIPLINE to develop new habits to replace the old.

2. Email, friend or foe? Pick two or three (no more than three) SPECIFIC TIMES that you check your email. Allow enough time read the important ones and respond to those that need it. Resist the urge stockpile the less urgent stuff thinking that you'll get to "later". Chances are, you won't.

And please realize that in today's fast paced world, if an email is a month old, it's ancient history. The offer's over, the sale's ended, the get together has passed. Use the delete key...the delete key is your friend. (seriously...if it was REALLY important, you'd know about it by now)

Oh! And if you are subscribed to newsletters, etc. that you don't read...unsubscribe. One less distraction for you to deal with.

3. We have Voicemail for a Reason! Hello? Do I really have to elaborate on this one? Don't be a slave to your ringing phone. We have caller ID...if it's someone you really must talk to, pick it up. Otherwise, let it go to voicemail and stay on task. Call them back when it's convenient for YOU.

If the ringing phone bugs you, set the ringer to silent. And here's another cool thing... both my land line and my cell phone have the ability to send calls directly to voicemail... the phone doesn't even ring.

4. Facebook & Twitter. How many times a day do you really have to check to see what Sally Sue and Billy Bob think of your status post/Tweet? Like email, schedule a couple (no more than three) times a day when you hop on the social sites and interact with folks.

5. IE, Firefox and Chrome. Gotta love the improvements in Internet browsers over the past few years! Makes surfing and multi-tasking SO much easier with all those tabs! But really...keep open browsers and tabs at a minimum. Seeing the little notification numbers on your email or social media tab only serves to distract you from the task at hand.

6. Start and End Your Day with your "To-Do" list. Write down the tasks that you MUST accomplish each day, and work at your list until they are done. Review your list in the morning (you may need to make minor changes) and before quitting for the day, write your list for the next day. Having a list to follow makes it easier to regain focus should you get off track for some reason.

7. We are people! Probably the most important of all is to take time for real, face to face conversations with people. And when you're with them really BE with them. Don't keep glancing at your Blackberry or texting someone else in the middle of a conversation. Better yet, shut your phone OFF and let calls go to voicemail. Maintain eye contact and let the other person know you're really interested in what they have to say. You'll be surprised at how much impact this simple habit will have on your relationships... business and otherwise.

Sure, we're busy. And we seem to be getting busier all the time. But developing just one or two new habits may help "cure" you of the new attention deficit disorder. Besides, you may just end up freeing up enough time that you're actually able to relax.

In House Data Entry Jobs

There seems to be a lot of talk lately about the declining job rates, but one sector that hasn't felt this pull is data entry jobs. Just the same as before the economic down turn, companies still need their data collated and stored correctly. What is changing in this portion of the IT industry, however, is the way it's being done.

More and more, companies and businesses are sending their jobs outside, to be done by contractors or freelance workers. This is great for those who need a few extra bucks a week, but it's hard to make a career out of freelance data entry. Getting an in house job is the way to go if you want to make it as your career.

There are two main ways to go about getting a data entry job in house. The first is straight forward; applying for the job when it turns up. Because data entry jobs are so valuable and there are so many of them, any job advertisement site or company will show data entry jobs, and every country will have at least one site especially dedicated to this career. A full time position performing entry-related work can pay between $45,000 and $55,000 per year, depending on the job, the environment, and your position. Finding and applying for these jobs can be easy, but securing them can take time. There are many people who are great at such jobs, and these people will also be looking for full time work in their field.

Another way to become an in house entry technician is through doing contract work for a company. Some companies have one or two in house technicians and outsource for the rest of their work. This saves them money if they don't have a lot of data entry jobs to be done. Rather than applying for jobs at these companies when they come up, working from the inside can give you a good name and place you in a better position when job openings occur. By contracting out your services, you can earn around $25 to $35 per hour, which is enough to get you started on your career. Keep a look out for companies who advertise entry jobs as contract to permanent. These are the companies that are looking to scope out potential full time employees to see what they can offer the company.

It might be difficult to find an in house data entry jobs, but as soon as you find one don't let it go.

Need To Know Facts About Viral Marketing

Viral marketing is one of those methods that precedes the birth of the internet. To add to the excitement, all the social sites and networks plus sites like YouTube have radically changed the face of what viral means. People all over the world are revealing so much about themselves in unprecedented ways. This just goes on to show that viral marketing is in full throttle, and the regular word of mouth has taken a whole new meaning with the birth of the World Wide Web.

You will need to think about the market in which you are trying to force a viral campaign. All you can do is create it and let it go, and if it goes viral then you will not be the first to know, usually.

This is why you should focus on being patient when it comes to achieving results from your campaign. It is true that you really never know what will set people off in a viral way. These viral events are not all that frequent, and when they happen they just suddenly come out of nowhere. The key here lies in laying down a perfect foundation that makes it easy for you to grow your viral marketing campaign and take it to the next level. Most people who try to make something viral usually do not succeed. If something you do becomes viral, then all you really can do is watch it and respond to people if they talk to you. The success of the idea proves that it's worthy, which is why you should spend more time on improving it even after launching it. The best viral campaigns are very direct and not complicated. The easier you make everything, then you will greatly increase your chances of something going viral. Whatever you do, it has to be a total no-brainer for people to talk about it or spread it. There are lots of examples of this principle in action on the net, and you have seen many of them. The key to all this is make people aware of it as it is being spread, and that is often just some kind of message or ad. That little ad is powerful, and it actually causes people to become drawn into the viral mechanism. The easier you make it, the more powerful it becomes.

You can create a buzz about your business that approaches viral, and the key to doing so is when you go out of your way to care about your customers. Remember if you want to drive a point home with your customers, then always avoid talking about it and then keep showing them with your actions. When you always do that, then people remember and they will tell others about it. When you sincerely help people, then they do remember that and will tell others. When you make the effort to help people, then you will see that they remember that and talk about it.

Viral marketing has huge potential for any business that decides to use it in a creative way. Creating an impact in your target market with the right viral marketing campaign requires you to have a good understanding of it, and at the same time you should know your own product inside out.

Home Based Business Strategy You Will Hate

So I'll say it straight...

Long-term.

That's it. That's the #1 strategy. Basically that's the most important tip for success as a work at home business owner. Whether you're affiliate or starting a new business offline with online presence, you need to understand one thing - only long term strategy will work, all else will fail.

So many boys and girls are fascinated by the idea of making money working from home. They slap a WP blog, do some basic SEO, get tired, don't see return and jump onto something else. A big no no. If you are thinking about success, you need to take every single business decision seriously. It is a business in the end. So why would you play with it. Take it seriously and you'll go so much further.

Let's take an example. Let's say you ordered some ClickBank product that teaches you how to make money from home. You get excited, you pick some kind of a niche and think about ripping profits in 48 hours, because that's how long it took the owner on the video to make those $48,597 right. Wrong! Those "gurus" have been marketing online for years, so it's nothing to make even a million per day when doing a launch. But small guy starting out is another thing.

You don't have the knowledge or resources. Most likely, you won't get any traffic for 3 to 6 months even if you work very hard. Usually in this scenario, you will just quit and get back to the reality.

But stop! Wait for a moment.

Instead of mildly taking this project and then quitting when you don't see results fast, why not go the other way around? Why not pick one niche that you know you'll love, have some passion about, and you know makes money for people day in day out.

Now we're talking.

Slowly build content on the website. Write articles. Do article marketing. Do SEO. Do paid traffic if it works. If not, you still have valuable content on your site. Don't let it go to waste. Build it, get traffic, get links. You'll see that it does take time, but what matters is your mindset.

Instead of thinking short term, you think long term. Now it doesn't seem such a bad idea not to get any traffic for 5 months or so. Because you know that sooner or later your efforts will pay off. So take things slowly and you'll see how things change.

Work From Home With An Online Business

How would you like to have your very own home based business? Would you like to have no boss? Have no staff? Have no daily grind? The explosion of the internet has made running your very own, successful, home based online business not just a reality for most of us, but a MUST!

To choose your own hours and even to a certain extent, choose your own salary, is a dream lifestyle that we no longer have to dream about. You see, having your very own home based internet business can offer you the two most valuable things our society can offer. Time AND money.

Take a moment to think about what you would do with an abundance of time and money. Who would you spend it with? Who would you spend it on? Thankfully it is a lifestyle that is very achievable. It has been made achievable by some very smart, successful entrepreneurs who are usually more than willing to show EXACTLY what to do and how to do it, so you too can create a life on your own terms.

But one quick word of warning. If you do decide to search the internet for the information, knowledge, courses and coaching required to be a success online, do not get seduced by promises of "overnight fortunes." You must respect internet marketing and online business just as much as any offline business. Show it the respect and hard work it deserves, and this lucrative industry will pay you back tenfold.

I don't really know of many industries that a regular guy or gal can do a few days of hard work then, get paid from those days for the rest of their lives!! But that is the beauty of the internet and also the dawn of downloadable digital products. AND, if you thought that was great, a lot of the time you don't even have to create the product yourself! To be honest, internet marketing and online business have so much going for them, I'm never really going to do them justice in this short article.

At the end of the day, if you are fed up with trading your time for money (which instantly limits your earning potential) then you owe it to yourself and your family to least do the research on internet marketing and home based online businesses. A lifestyle this great definitely deserves at least a couple of hours of your time, don't you think?

A friend once told me that "no one will pay you like you pay yourself." I feel that is one of the best ways to describe what it is like to have your very own online business. Think about it. Who would be willing to pay you more money, your boss? Or yourself? With your own internet business all your hard work is directly invested in the growth of your own company. When you go to your regular job all your hard work is directly invested in SOMEONE ELSE'S company! This makes no sense to me what so ever. I also know that if you are reading this article then it also makes no sense to you too.

If you are reading this article then there is some part of you, no matter how big or small, that is an entrepreneur screaming to be let loose on the world. So stop caging the beast and let it go!!

Combating Negative Reviews Online - 6 Quick Tips

There's nothing more disheartening when you work hard to build up your brand and your online presence and then you discover that you're receiving negative reviews. Those reviews can substantially impact on your sales and your revenues and it can be very hard to deal with the fall out. Don't worry help is at hand, here are 6 tips to help you improve your reviews and to deal with the impact of bad feedback.

Always respond to bad reviews. Whatever the feedback, however mean or spiteful you feel it is, you need to respond. You must respond in a positive way, offer a means of resolving the issue, apologise and if you get a response update the review too. If the review makes steam pour out of your ears and you just want to scream and shout, calm down before you respond. You can't control the reactions of others, but you can control your reaction to them.
Work harder to get positive reviews. This has a couple of benefits, firstly new reviews tend to displace older reviews, so if your customers start posting about how happy they are the negative reviews will slide down the list. Though it's worth noting that some review providers (like Yell for example) will allow customers to screen by ratings, so a determined customer will always be able to pick out the bad reviews. So don't stop responding to bad reviews.

Tip: If you want positive reviews ask your customers to review you, give them web addresses and links to do so and thank them for doing so.

Tip: Never write positive reviews of your own business yourself, you will get caught and the fallout from this kind of situation will damage your business.

If you have issues, talk about them. From time to time you'll have an issue that affects a large group of customers, for example your delivery agent may have failed to deliver multiple orders on time or one of your suppliers may have issued a recall for a product you sell. Don't ignore these issues, talk about them before they become an issue - post on your blog/website and in other consumer sites about what has happened, and what you have done to resolve the issue.
Don't panic. It's OK to get bad reviews; no-one can be all things to all customers. Just ensure that your values and attitude are reflected in your responses and in your positive reviews.
Make it easier for unhappy customers to let you know. The best case scenario is that customers let you know they are unhappy before they go online and tell the world, encourage feedback from your customers and more importantly - thank them for that feedback and act on it wherever possible.
Don't let it go. If you believe a review is truly malicious and not at all representative of your business, contact the site it is on and ask them to take it down. Provide evidence when you do so, and try not to take no for an answer.

What Skills Do I Need to Run an Online Clothing Store?

If you have read one of my articles before, then you already know how fond I am of mentioning the financial situation of Bluefly, one of the most trafficked and seemingly successful online retailers on the internet. This is an online retailer who has hit net revenues of $80,000,000 to $95,000,000. Nonetheless, this is also a company who has never made a single year of profit since its inception in 1997. As of December 31, 2009, Bluefly has an accumulated deficit of $147,468,000. Furthermore, this is a company that states in their annual financial report that they still need to further establish brand name recognition. If you ask all the women who shop at Forever 21, Urbanoutfitters, and ModCloth if they have heard of Bluefly, then most would have no idea who they are. This is obviously not a scientific observation, but if you compare Bluefly's approximately 30K Facebook fans to ModCloths 100K fans then there is most likely a huge issue in terms of Bluefly branding and connecting with their $80,000,000 worth of customers. Putting down Bluefly is not going to help you or me as small business owners. What will help is understanding the skills and knowledge to help you stay out of the deep end.

Please note that I am coming from a real do-it-yourself background. When my girlfriend and I first started our online clothing boutique, we did not have any funds to outsource any of the different project or jobs that the business needed. Quite honestly, if you have money to outsource every piece of work for your business, then my only suggestion is that you learn how to negotiate and manage people well. Otherwise, I am going to cover the general skills you should work on and knowledge you should acquire if you decide to pursue this venture yourself or with a partner. Of course, having knowledge about finance, marketing, accounting, organization behavior, negotiations, and pretty much everything a fashion merchandising course would teach would be ideal, but we will just focus on what I believe are the most fundamental.

1. Marketing
As I just mentioned, the ideal situation is if you had the business knowledge of a Harvard MBA or Parson's Fashion Merchandising major. So, if I had to choose just one topic from business school, then it would be marketing. One of the key topics within marketing is the idea of the four P's, Product, Price, Place, and Promotion. With the four P's, you will learn how to position and differentiate your online clothing store in this highly competitive market. With a decent understanding of marketing, you will understand how to use the four P's to either position yourself as a high-end luxury boutique or the young and hip store with a reasonable price point for the mass audience.

2. Accounting
If I was allowed one more topic within the MBA curriculum, then it would have to be accounting. Quite simply, if you do not know anything about accounting, then you will not know if you are going broke until the day you close down. Calculating net sales or revenue is the simplest task, but it is calculating your expenses that will help you in the end. Without accounting, you will never know what expenses are out of control and therefore never able to correct it. Additionally, accounting knowledge does not stop at financial statements, there is a whole branch of accounting that focuses on managerial decisions. In the case of a fashion retail business, you will use your managerial accounting skills to budget your inventory purchases for the season, determine a product mix using historical data, examine how to improve conversion, and just about any other decision that can be made using numerical data.

3. Web Design, Programming, and Database
I think I can easily say that I have saved over $10,000 because I was able to learn how to design my own website, install open-source contributions, and understand how a database interacts with a dynamic website. When we first started our website, about a month after launching, I realized we needed some design and functionality changes to our website. I contacted a San Francisco web design firm, told them exactly what work I needed done, and they quoted me about $3,000. I ended up doing the work myself, with just the help of the internet, within two days. A month later, I decided I wanted to do a complete landing page redesign that I felt was outside of my abilities. I hired someone through a freelancing website. Nothing was done on schedule, in the end the job had to be cancelled, and I had to go through an arbitrator to finally get my money back. At that point, I pretty much decided that I would never hire anyone to do my web design.

Now, I have built four full scale websites and can install or write just about any contribution needed for my website. I have no doubt that I have saved over $10,000 doing the work myself. Of course, if you are using a paid shopping cart, then most of this is irrelevant, but I think it is an invaluable skill for those who need to save money.

4. Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine Optimization, SEO, can partly be classified as part of web design and programming, but there is a lot more off-page SEO that can be done. If I had to do it again, then I would have focused much more on SEO than Google AdWords or Yahoo! Search Marketing when starting my business. There is a huge chance that I would not have gotten an order for three to six months, but it is a better investment in the long-run. I have to admit that when we first started AdWords, we covered the cost of advertising through our sales, so it worked out. Later, when I moved to the USA, AdWords just was not working. I think I was spending nearly $100 to just get one conversion. For a low-mid price point, that just does not work. I suspended ALL paid marketing campaigns and focused on SEO. I have not only increased my conversion, traffic, and sales, but also lowered a huge expense, increasing my profitability.

5. Do not sweat the small things
Certainly easier said than done, but necessary if you do not want to go crazy. I just lost $30 because I decided to send an order to a customer before capturing their funds through my payment gateway. A few days went by and it turned out that I could not capture those funds anymore and I sent a nice email to the customer asking them to reauthorize the transaction. Personally, if I was in the customer's shoe, then I would do so because I received the product, but not everybody thinks that way. You will come across hundreds of situations like this. Sometimes you are right and sometimes you may be wrong. The point is that you have to let it go and just realize it is business.

Are You Bringing Too Much Baggage Into Your Home Based Business?

Have you been involved in a home based business before and failed to make any money? If so it can be really hard to get back on the horse so to speak and pick yourself back up and start making money again in a new business. Just like an old relationship with an ex boyfriend or girlfriend you can't let your past failure cause you to blow it in your new business. If you have emotional baggage left over from another company it can be hard but there are a few tips that I can give you to help yourself move on and make your next business a huge success.

Find out what YOU could have done differentlySometimes it's hard to look at yourself and admit what you did wrong but it can really help you out in your next business. Take a look at all the good things AND the bad things you did in your last business and try not to make the same mistakes in your new business.

Accept that some businesses are just crappyIt's sad but true but some "businesses" turn out to be scams. And if that's one of the businesses you've been involved with in the past there was nothing you could have done differently. Don't blame yourself if you've been involved in a scam. Just accept that scams are out there but recognize that MOST home based businesses are good honest companies and don't let that sour your next business.

Let go of any anger you might haveWhenever you lose money or you feel like you've been wronged there is going to be a fair bit of anger or resentment but if you don't want to let it effect your new business you have to let it go and accept that it's in the past. Don't let anger from a past business keep you from making money in the next. Let it go and you'll be better for it.
