How Secure Is Your Job? What Would You Do If It, Along With All the Benefits, Was Gone in 30 Days?

My immediate supervisor looked across the table at me and said, "You are laid off as of today and your pay and benefits will stop on December 31st. Please deliver all company files and property to the local office in Vancouver within the next 24 hours".

This event was totally unexpected. My sales numbers were good, in fact, they were very good. I had actually set some recent sales records within the company that had not previously been achieved by anyone.

Why did this happen? Well, as you know, in the corporate world people are numbers and stats on a computer printout in some office somewhere. When corporate decides to downsize because of a stressed economy there is no human consideration given. Our country had just experienced "911" and there was a lot of panic going on at the time. The particular company I worked for depended heavily upon the manufacturing sector primarily in the States of Washington & Oregon. Many of these companies had themselves begun to downsize and, as a result, were gradually becoming less and less dependent upon the services of the company I was working for. It was a classic example of the "domino effect".

My first reaction was a total lack of feeling -- as if what had just happened was not for real. As I made the 100 mile drive toward home that evening it began to hit me that I was unemployed. It also began to hit me that I was in my late 50's and the prospects for finding another job as good as the one I had just lost were slim and probably next to none.

Thank God over the previous few years, since 1996, I had been playing around on the internet to try to learn how to make money with my computer. There were some successes, but there were also even more times in which I spent more money than I made. I went on to a couple of other sales jobs up until December, 2007, none of which compared with the job I had lost. As of December, 2007, I was laid off again and knew, this time around, I had no further desire to go back into the corporate work force.

It was at this juncture that I applied what I had learned about the internet and began making a full-time living from my own internet businesses. Currently I am earning more money than at any time in my life WITHOUT leaving home using nothing but my computer and my telephone. I am also teaching others to do the same.

I felt like a fish lost in the deep dark blue sea and frankly when you are lost it does not take too long for sharks to feast on your ignorance. PS: Here we are talking about some smooth criminals aka our Internet marketing gurus.

Lets agree that there are some really cool product pushers out there who make a killing sending out the most amazing sale pitches such as Turbo Profit Sniper and AnnihilationX etc, the kind where you feel that if you do not sign up right here right now you will lose your last chance ever to make a $100K. These guys know how to play on our sensibilities.

In the midst of this jambore I came accross the the Brian Wynn 'Millionaire League 2' system which has been the doing the rounds for sometime, naturally I received an exclusive invite to join the merry club. Now for the record I can be termed as one of the biggest sceptics in my peer group, so receiving yet another product that promises heaven but delivers nothing brings bitter moments to mind.

Dont get me wrong but I have been made a sucker several times in the past and have lost hundreds of dollars to these sharp shooters. Hence when I received the mail from Brian Wynn I was pleasantly surprised to see a pitch that did not look like anything I had seen in a while. It was simple to the point and did not promise the world. In fact it spoke about how we can use the power of basics and every day communication tools to build our business network. In my heart of hearts I still believed that this was a scam just like the others and was determined to prove the crime. On the other hand to the fly by night entrepreneur this seemed like alot of hard work, but to someone who worked a 9-5 job for 15 years it spelt common sense.

I had no stars in my eyes about hitting the million dollar jackpot, but instead here was an offering which seemed like a very realistic system that had a high likely hood of succeeding, simply because it was build on simple business actions and yet had the power of compounding profits.

This was a system that invited you into the Ivy League - The Millionaire League 2 Club, Where a veteran namely Brian Wynn was readily sharing the secrets of making a decent earning of the online business market. Now that is what I understand best.

Make Money From Lost Luggage

After six months of being unclaimed, most airlines will sell the cases at auction. These are auctions that anyone can attend so you or I could go and bid on someone else's lost property.

There are two paths you can take at the auction. The auctioneers take valuable items out of the suitcases first and sell them separately. This includes things like electronic items, shoes, jewellery and posh toiletries. If you know what you're doing you can bid on these sorts of things and sell them on for a tidy profit. Or you can keep them for yourself - some people get skis, cameras and the like nice and cheaply this way. A 500 pound snowboard recently sold for 75 pounds so you could either keep it for yourself or sell it on for more.

Alternatively, you can bid for the full suitcases and hope there are some good clothes, shoes, books etc in them that you could flog. This is a bit of a lottery. Basically you buy them sight-unseen and auctioneers only give the vaguest details about what is in each suitcase. They do tell you whether the clothes are clean or not though, so it's up to you if you fancy being elbow deep in someone else's dirty underwear.

The suitcases sell from around 5 pounds to 50 pounds. Even if the case is just full of clothes you should be able to sell it all for more than that.

The best thing to do with these cases is to stick some rubber gloves on, open up the case when you get it home and wash everything. Then you can iron it, photograph it and get some decent cash on eBay. The books can go on Amazon and even toiletries and washbags can be sold. Of course you can also sell the suitcase and make some cash on that too.

It's a pretty easy way to make or save money. You don't have any expenses to cover, only the price of what you buy.� If you bid on individual items do make sure that you only bid on things you understand, as you could find yourself losing money rather than making it if it doesn't sell for more than you bought it for.

There are plenty of bargains up for grabs and buying luggage can be quite fun to do. You really do never know what you're going to end up with, sometimes you'll find a real hidden treasure, and other times you won't be so lucky.�

The best place to start out would be Greasbys in Tooting, London. Greasbys is London's lost luggage hotspot; it's here that British Airways (one of the world's biggest baggage losers) sell their lost luggage. They have auctions every Tuesday at 10.30am and viewing is held on the Monday before, between 2.30pm and 6.30pm, giving you a chance to suss out which bags you want to buy - although you only get to see the outside of it, so you can only guess at the contents. It's all part of the fun though, and who knows what gems will be unveiled?

Cleaning House

Are you like me. Join a program because a friend recommended it, but never really learned how to use it?

Recently I had to reload one of my browsers. When I did, I lost all my bookmarks. That is a major loss.

With the book marks went my passwords and logins too. I was so lost.

Thank goodness I had another browser that had most of the logins listed to help me out.

Now I get the lengthy job of deciding which logins to keep, and which ones I can eliminate. This is going to take awhile. I had over 200.

It's a good time for cleaning house. To get rid of the garbage I have piling up.

Now I will look at the sites and decide, not just keep them because a friend wanted me too.

Those friends sometimes don't bother to come around once you join a site.

So go ahead ad clean house. Then make a copy of your book marks so you don't lose them again.

It is also good to keep a hard copy of the sites you visit online. A CD or a DVD can come in real handy when you have lost all your information.

I also do not like being unorganized and I was. Sometimes when we just keep bookmarking everything, it is really a list of clutter. No organization to it what so ever.

In conclusion, using a second browser is good and having a hard copy set aside can be too.

Get organized again.

MLM Has Changed, and How!

Word of mouth is still one of the most effective ways of spreading your message about a given opportunity, but the Internet increases the delivery of that message to the speed of light! Because there is so much content being prepared and delivered at any given time of the day or night, you must take steps to distinguish yourself from the rest of the marketers, this is the step that separates the successful from the failures.

Honesty and truth or still the best weapons for victory. Developing relationships and maintaining them is the key. The methods for spreading the word are easy to access, but hard to highlight, you need to stand out or you will be lost by the wayside. Having figured out how to stand out from the crowd is not enough, now you have to know what to do to maintain the information and the relationships you develop. Spreading the word about your opportunity to day is almost impossible without having a website to promote your ideas and maintain your information and contacts.

I'm an old dog, learning new tricks, and my goal is to help as many people like me, that are initially lost in this new world of always changing technology, and therefore marketing strategies. I have been working on the Internet now since January of 2008, this is what I have figured out so far;

1) To spread the word effectively, you must write Ezines and Blogs to establish and build relationships.
2) Use forums to help spread your words of wisdom written in your Ezine and Blogs.
3) Effectively use the tools that are provided for the optimization of your website to maintain those relationships and contacts you develop and don't forget to build and maintain a opt in e-mail list.

Your opportunities are only as large as your e-mail list.

I am now developing a business plan to make my personal website grow and hopefully become successful. A lead generating system, combined with a functional and necessary website that the average person needs and can use, so far this has been confusing and frustrating, and rewarding all at the same time.

As I develop the necessary tools that help me build my business I will write about it, and hopefully give guidance to those people like me, that need help in to days ever changing market environment. The first indication that it is a fraud is that no lottery in the world notifies the winners by e-mail. Secondly, if the e-mail is sent through a free provider like Hotmail, Yahoo, and Gmail, it is an absolute scam. Thirdly, when they ask you to send a certain amount through a wire, it is again an attempt to play on our hopes and dreams. When he finally realized that I was on to him he literally cried on the phone begging me to send him $360. What interests me is how many people fell into their trap and how much was lost? Word must have gotten around about me because I have not received any e-mails of this nature in over a week. I usually received at least two a day. In my view with the advent of the internet the international community must, on this issue, cooperate.
