How Your Attitude Affects the Success of Your Home Business

With so many people on the internet throwing all sorts of different methods of making it with your online business how do you figure out what is right? The information on the internet is endless and much of it can be contradictory to what others are saying. How do we choose? Are you getting overwhelmed? Take a deep breath and relax, just step back for a moment and take a look at what is before you and remember... You joined this race for you and your family, to make a better life for all involved. Perhaps you joined up so you could get out of your day job and perform your work from home, there are many reasons why different people turn to the internet to earn a living.

There have been several times when I questioned myself and asked 'Is this really worth it, am I ever going to get anywhere with this?' One of the obvious answers is if you just throw your hands up in the air and say 'That's it, I've had enough'; of course you're going to fail, perhaps without ever having put in a valiant effort. I've been at it a few months now, yes only a few months and I am beginning to see a better trend. We must understand that for 99.9% of us this is not going to happen in a matter of a couple of weeks; contrary to what some of these advertisements may tell you.

We must stay realistic as to what our ultimate goals are; as for myself I only want to make enough so I can be done with my day job. I don't aspire to become a millionaire, I do aim to remove myself from working for someone else and being able to support myself comfortably with a home based business. So, forget the hype that you are spoon fed and get into the trenches with the rest of us and start your research; be courageous.

Don't put all of your eggs in one basket, set out a few bread crumbs here and there, experiment with different techniques and methods of advertising. I'm an affiliate of several different outfits, I have a few websites of my own, I have also joined an MLM and pay a small monthly fee to retain my status. I buy into a Co-op that generates people for my down-line; yes there is a cost but I look at the big picture; with a bit of time and effort I may get some movers and shakers who join up beneath me.

Nothing is guaranteed but if we do not try we will never reach our ultimate goal. If you despise the job you presently go to, don't think 'Well maybe I'll just find a better job and I will be happier there?', maybe you will be and maybe you won't, as a matter of fact it could turn out that your new job is worse than your present one. Newness wears off and the grind sets in again. When we are unhappy about our situation in life it is up to us to fix it; get out of the cycle that we are stuck in and work towards what we truly want.

As the title states it is All About Attitude, if we think we are going to fail before we even start are we really all that motivated to get anywhere? Motivate yourself, envision what you hope to achieve for your family and be realistic in what you visualize. Work at it, make the time, we all have our own ideas and it could be that one of your ideas is a good moneymaker.

If you feel yourself starting to get a negative attitude tell yourself to stop and re-think the reasons why you started; it's worth the effort and nothing great ever comes easy. Keep your goals in sight and don't let go, if one method fails there are many more that you can and will try... keep on trying until you find something, just one thing that works for you.

I can't say that all I am doing is free but at present I have that bit of capital that I can invest without any distress experienced. I admit I do live frugally, not because I am poor, just because I do not wish to waste my money. If you are going to spend your money on marketing methods or the like please make sure you do your research, find reviews of the product or information; find a few reviews and see if they conflict with one another.

If you want to be a part of a larger group and feel you need some direct tutoring there are many of these groups available; I would suggest finding a forum where people discuss their experiences and read up on what they have to say. There is a lot of information available to us, we simply have to seek it out.

Have faith in yourself, keep your attitude in check, keep a screw driver handy in case the old attitude needs adjusting from time to time; stick with it, expand your mind and then expand your bank account.

Make a list of all the successes you've had during the day - Instead of worrying and thinking about things that didn't go your way during the day, start to focus on the positive. Do this by making a list of all the big and small successes you've had during the day. It doesn't have to be complicated. Maybe you wrote an article, that's a success. Maybe you called a lead, that's a success. Maybe you attended a webinar, that's a success. Whatever comes to mind, write it down and celebrate your success!

Again, all these small successes will add up and you will start to realize that you are a successful person. And what does a successful business owner do and have? A better online business where challenges and failures quickly turns into victories and successes.

We see ourselves in the mirror each and every morning while we brush our teeth, maybe you look yourself in the eyes, maybe you don't bother, but this just happens to be an intense little private moment for me, so I'm using it as an example here. Like most endeavors, these organizations begin with a unifying idea, a belief or core value that brings people together under a single banner. There you will find their core reason for existing, or mission statement. Not once will you find one that says, "To make money and get rich." Although there is much to be said about turning a profit and making some sort of living out of the business you started, if that is the driving force behind it then do not expect it to gain momentum and longevity. In fact, it probably won't last the year.

Without a Core Value you will not be sustainable and you cannot inspire others to your cause or mindset. People will not take you seriously and you will begin to take on a reputation of the slimy used car salesman and people will begin to avoid all things connected to you and your brand. Remember, people aren't stupid. They want to be surrounded by individuals who teach, share, give value, and inspire; sometimes this is as simple as being just plain honest. In a world in which integrity and character are just words in a book and not reality, inspiration has fast become the new drug, and everyone craves it.

My Personal Mistakes On My Business Ventures Part 1 of 3

I just want to talk about my personal back round in regards to starting a Business. I have to tell you that it is a hard road to follow. If you give up easily or have too many problems in your life to focus on the top 2 or 3 things in your life that are important to you, then maybe it is not the road for you to take at the moment. But on the other hand, if you are not up to your neck in bad relationships or do not have too many family problems, then maybe you can give starting a Home Base Business a shot.

I remember my first business idea was to invest in Real Estate. So I set out to read all I could about that subject. So this is one of the first things you do when you decide to venture into a new area for a Business. Learn everything you can, it is really true that knowledge is power. The neat thing about knowledge is that when you get a base of information then that leads to other ideas and other thoughts on which way to go. Cause you will find out that you like this industry or you like talking and coming to an agreement with people or you like putting a deal together etc.

Of course the other side is also true that you might decide that you do not like dealing with details or trying to convince people to buy or sell. Maybe you do not like technical things and rather deal with goals and plans. So actually that is good, cause you just eliminated a direction to go. Now you try another direction. It was not a waste of time cause you learn a thing or two about that part of Business and maybe learn a little about yourself in the process. Cause we do not know if we like something until we try it usually.

So I bought a few houses every two years or so, sold them and made a profit. Unfortunately I moved up instead of putting away some of the money for a rainy day. And let me tell you rainy days always come. So I became a statistic when the housing market fell apart and ended up pretty much where I started financially. I had a six great years or so and then back to reality. This was a self impose reality because I did not look far enough into the future to hang on to one or two of the houses. I did not sell one to pay off another so no matter what, I would have something in the end as was my plan to begin with.

That brings me to another point, if you make a plan to put away, pay off, invest some of the profits or something like that, then stick to your plan. I did not stick to my plan of paying off one or two homes so that no one could take them away from me or my family. I hope I have alerted you to some mistakes to avoid when starting a venture. Now I do not count it all as lost as I still feel comfortable buying a home if I want to in the future because I invested in myself to learn this industry.

The next thing I tried was to start a fudge business. Unfortunately when you go into food businesses you usually need some sort of capital. To buy equipment and to buy ingredients. So me and an associate at work decided to use her family recipe to go into Business. I put up the money, which was mostly borrowed and did most of the marketing and she did the cooking etc.

Well I found out that making enough sales with convenient stores was taking longer than I thought it would and the profits were very small. I also found out that I did not like a salesman sort of job. So borrowing most of the money was not the best idea unless I had the will and the knowledge to succeed in the candy industry. So after a year or two at trying to make a profit I decided that this was too much work for too little pay. I usually like to go by the idea that if I cannot make all my investment back within the first year then I would try something else. Now I can see that might be a little short-sighted for long-term gains and that most Business do not become profitable until after the third year or so.

I am a man that has looked for a business for many years to become successful at and after many tries I have found Internet Marketing. It does not take much money and at 56, being Internet challenged, I can learn this, work at home and quit my jobs. Remaking myself to try to improve me is a ongoing affair, with learning a new challenge comes a better me. Marketing other businesses products and creating a self running system seems ideal to me. Working for someone else is no way to become financially independent or to develop yourself into someone new. First, what is freelancing? The actual term goes back to the times of knights and swordsmen. A lance is a weapon. Soldiers used their lances in battle. But today freelancers don't offer their weapons for hire. Rather, they offer their services. These services can range from transcribing your recorded meetings into typed documents, doing your taxes or creating a new cell phone application from start to finish. Almost anything is possible. So what are the benefits of using a freelancer? How about saving money. Sometimes a LOT of money. Freelancers compete from all over the world. As an example, say you want your taxes done and you go to 2 or 3 accountants in your neighborhood. You might get an average price of between US$460 - 500. So their prices don't vary very much.

But what if you could ask all of the accountants in your state? The prices would have a much larger spread (the difference between highest and lowest price). Maybe the most expensive price is $550 and the lowest is $400. Why the larger spread? Could be a lot of reasons. Perhaps someone lives in a much poorer neighborhood so they can charge less than the others. Maybe someone's business is just very slow, or new and they'll charge less to get a reputation or to generate new clients. It doesn't matter so much why, it matters that you are going to save cash.

Now imagine you post your job for the entire world to see! Now you have people competing in third world countries that can charge as low as $100 to do your taxes. That would be a savings of $400. Not bad! And sometimes it can be a LOT more $$$.

Again, why, how? Because the cost of living is very different from place to place. And by going global, that's a lot of places! You are leveraging people (goods and services) due to their geographic location.
