What do I mean by the core? I mean the REASON why you're getting into this business in the first place. Think the reasons don't matter? Think again. And while I can think of a zillion reasons why somebody would want to run their own home business, these are the ones that are most common.

1. Loss of job or poor paying job.
2. Excited by glamour of it.
3. True passion for some topic.
4. Greed

Let's begin with number 1 and see how this can be a stumbling block.

When a person loses a job or has a poor paying job, they are usually under a lot of stress. Why? Well, when money is tight, bills don't get paid. Maybe this means less entertainment time. Quality of life goes down. Trust me, this is not the kind of frame of mine you want to be in when running a business. Ultimately, many of the people who fall into this category crack under the stress and thus can't focus on their business.

End result...failure.

Let's move on to number 2...excited by glamour of it.

Maybe you know somebody who is running their own home business and making a killing. They have a wonderful life. They take trips and meet all kinds of people. The lifestyle is amazing. You're so drawn to it that you want to take a crack at it yourself.

Problem is, you don't see all the work that goes into the business. When you actually dive into it, you see what's involved and all of a sudden, the glamour isn't so glamorous. And since you don't really NEED the money (point 1) you're just not motivated enough to continue.

End result...failure.

Let's move onto number 3...true passion for some topic.

Let's say you're a musician and you want to start a business where you teach people how to play guitar by ear. You have a true passion for this. Problem is, you have no business sense and don't really have a drive to learn HOW to run a business. You don't want to do all the boring things. You just want to put up your great site and have people come to it to buy YOUR great product.

But they don't come because YOU don't know how to run a business and don't REALLY want to learn.

End result...failure.

Finally, we have greed. These are people who see nothing but dollar signs in their eyes and want nothing else in life. Just show them where the money is. They'll do every unethical thing to get it too.

Problem with most of these people is they either get tired of constantly having to out run the law or they get caught. The stress of this kind of life, no matter how greedy you are, can kill you.

Home Based Business - Why Your Customers Are No Different Than Mine So Stop Fussin' and Move On

It was a balmy Friday morning in April on delightful Miami Beach. The hotel Fountainbleau ballroom #3 was packed wall to wall with salespeople wanting to learn from one of the greatest sales trainers in our industry on this, our third and last day of a three day seminar.

As hundreds of salespeople were drinking their morning cup of Joe, chatting amongst themselves and generally having a good time, the seminar trainer approached the stage virtually unnoticed. He stood there for one full minute, by my estimate, before he said in a loud commanding voice, "Listen up. I have an important announcement."

Some people thought that the speaker would be announcing the winners of door prizes being offered. Others thought that maybe he would announce that because it was Friday our session would be let out early today. It's hard to believe but, everyone in ballroom #3 was dead wrong.

Even though there were hundreds of people in the room, after the command to "Listen Up" was given with such great authority from the speaker on the stage, it was so quiet that you could almost hear the thoughts of the person seated next to you. Cemeteries at midnight were noisier than this Fountainebleau ballroom #3 on that fateful April morning.

In a powerful voice greater than before, the sales trainer barked at the audience, "This is my last seminar in Miami because you lazy people don't deserve my time and attention!" All of a sudden there was total pandemonium in ballroom #3.

The speaker continued, "Only a handful of people have done the assignments I gave all of you. That in itself makes me want to forget about Miami and teach my seminar in some other part of the country." The audience exploded yelling, "Mike, this can't be true, we need you". The speaker persisted with his criticism, "You know what really aggravates me about you salespeople here in Miami? You don't listen."

Four people had approached the speaker this morning before he took the stage. They all had the same ridiculous comment, "But Mike, our market is different, our customers are different. Your system just won't work here". Those remarks were echoed by many in the audience for the past two days. And those same comments were what ignited the fireworks from the podium this morning. In an effort to save time, let me get to the bottom line for you on why the seminar trainer was so upset------

It doesn't matter if you are selling your home based business product or service to mom and pop at the kitchen table in Iowa or you are selling to the CEO of a multi-national corporation in his office in New York. People are people and the process is the same for both. People always buy "stuff" with their "Feelings". That's why all customers everywhere are basically the same because everyone's "Feelings" are basically the same.

There is no question that if you still believe your customers are different than mine, stop whining and move on-----because they aren't. Go out and create the home based business success that will make your dreams come true. You can do it.

Starting a Mushroom Growing Business in Six Easy Steps

1. Get your spawn and substrate

You'll need a spawn to start the culture. Start with oyster mushrooms, as they are easy to grow and very profitable.You can produce your own spawn using a sterile culture, or you can buy ready-to-inoculate spawn, which are carried by suppliers. Producing your own can be cheaper in the long run, but the start-up costs can be high, so chances are buying the ready-to-inoculate spawn is the way to go for you.

You'll also need to buy the substrate. Many growers use straw or wood chips. Straw is generally the preferred method. You want straw that can be chopped up into little pieces.

2. Prepare the substrate

First, chop the straw into short pieces. Next, wet the straw. Now it's time to heat the straw in boiling water. Continue boiling for half an hour and then remove the straw and drain it. Next, spread out the straw on a clean surface and let it cool down.

3. Pack the plastic bags

Now it's time to pack plastic bags with the straw and spawn. Pack two or three inches of straw into the plastic bag and then lightly sprinkle the spawn on top. Repeat this until you've almost filled the bag, close the top and poke holes in the bag.

4. Incubation

Now it's time for incubation. Keep the growing area at around 78 degrees F. Places the bags on a shelving unit. Remember to stop any threats of natural light getting into the room. Cover windows and cracks. Use a red "darkroom" light when you need to check on your bags. When you start to notice tiny pinhead mushrooms near the air holes in your bag, then you're ready to move on to the next step.

5. Fruiting

For your fruiting room, you need a high level of humidity. The temperature will need to be 65 to 70 degrees F. Unlike the incubation room, you'll actually need a lot of natural light-at least 12 hours a day. To shock your mycelium, which will force it into fruiting, move the bags to a cool place for a day, such as a basement or other cool place, and then move them back to the fruiting room. Next, cut away the bag, which allows mushroom growth to take place.

6. Harvest

Just before your mushroom caps are fully uncurled, that's when it's time to harvest. To do so, twist the stem off as near to the growing block as you are able to. You've now harvested your mushrooms.

Is Over-Analysis Killing Your Online Success?

Before you know it, you've spent hours or even days on your computer and haven't a thing to show for it - and not least any sales!

It's time to take a step back, take a deep breath and get some focus. As Art Williams said, "No hocus-pocus, just focus"! There are a couple of questions I like to ask myself which help me keep my get my mind on the job in hand.

1. What's the best use of my time right now?

2. What action can I take right now which will move me towards my goal?

By asking these questions, my mind usually tells me the right answer. It often means doing a task which I've been putting off or which I maybe don't like to do. But your subconscious has a way of letting you know what's right, even if you might not like it!

We've all heard the well known phrase of Just Do It. The trouble is that we often get stuck on deciding exactly what 'it' really is! Sometimes we should replace that saying with "Just Do Something" to get us to take action!

The truth is, whilst one person is analysing a niche to death, another is actually taking action and setting up a simple website, driving traffic & monetizing it. Whilst another is pouring over keywords in their keyword tool of choice, another person has done a quick scan, picked out a short list and is busy creating articles and backlinks to rank for those keywords.

Things will very rarely work out the way you expect, no matter how perfect your preparation. So, by all means do some analysis, but remember that it's useless unless you act on it!

As Goethe said, "Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do." Wise words indeed - if only we paid them some attention!

The reason why we spend so much time on analysis is because we want to hit a home-run; we want what we're doing to be a winner. What the most successful internet marketers know is that winners do happen but sometimes they may have to work through several also-rans in order to find that winner. It's incredible the number of people who dive quickly into a niche to find out if there is a willing market out there and then move on just as quickly when their tests prove otherwise.

Would you rather spend all your time growing your successes or planning your unknowns? I know what I'd rather do.

So, put that analysis on the back burner and get on with taking some simple basic actions. Only by taking action will you get the results you want!

It is apparent once you look at Nikken's full line of products that what drives their creation is some sort of core health issue. I'm just not finding it. Sure, I've found the usual debunker talk, but I'm also seeing solid science behind the sales speak. Let's move on to the money part.

The compensation plan is clean cut. You develop three team members and from there you move up a rank. There are 9 ranks to work though. One thing that seems to be unique to Nikken is you can't drop back a rank; that rank is permanent even if your team starts to go through the attrition process familiar with all MLM business models. Could it be possible?

The income streams are also straight forward. Here's the list...

1. Retail Profits
2. Wholesale Profits
3. Residual Income (from your team members)
4. Performance and Leadership Bonuses
5. Incentive Programs for your car and home.

They also list tax deductions and benefits but that one doesn't really fit by my way of thinking so I'm just going to leave it out.

Now that I've been through the site, evaluated the products and compensation plan and searched for legitimate complaints, the only conclusion I can draw is this is a solid MLM opportunity. That being said, if you don't find a product that you know for a fact works, maybe you should move on and keep searching. Personally? It's not for me even with the promise of permanent ranking inside the compensation plan. Attrition is attrition all the same and most people leave because they simply don't have the patience to build a business and for that reason alone, I'll stick with what I know and leave the Nikken out there for now.

Secrets of Successful People - Easy Steps to Becoming a Successful Entrepreneur

I'd like to start with a very powerful exercise that will show you how organize and better define your goals that leads to a pathway of success. Divide a sheet of paper into 3 equal columns and write: Massive Action, Goals, Purpose and Reward.

In your goal column write the biggest goal you'd like to achieve; the one that gets you most excited such as paying off debt, creating a 7 figure income this year, buying a new car or leaving your day job for good. Now write a price tag in the goal section of leaving your job- the amount of money you'll need to earn to cover all of your expenses.

Now go to the purpose column and write your purpose and goals of entrepreneurship. Some examples are no more commuting on the train, being able to pick up your children from school or to spend more quality time with my family/children.

Let your mind move freely on this exercise so you can write about what your life will be like when you reach your goals. Be sure to leave some space at the bottom of this column to create another column by drawing a line across the bottom of this column. In this newly created column write the emotion (and this is Key) of how you'll feel once you reach your goals such liberated, free, secure, worthwhile or confident. Again, let your pen flow here to capture the full impact of your emotions.

In your Massive action column-Write all of things you need to do to achieve your goals. (This is an exercise Tony Robbins teaches.) Choose 3 income producing activities that will drive you to success then choose 1 of those things that will give you 80% of the results to work on first. Some examples might be, wanting to increase your leads to 150 per day and perhaps the most effective way to achieve this would be to build a bunch of google campaigns, or becoming a video master or setting aside extra time at night to complete your work projects. The key here is to focus on the one income producing activity project that you chose and to stick to it until you reach your goal. All else is secondary at this point keeping in mind that too many projects keep you distracted and not focused. Work on this one project until you reach your goal then move on to the second activity you chose following the same steps. As a side note, this entire process can also be applied to others area of your life that you'd like to improve upon such as health and fitness, dieting or Spirituality.

During this process keep in mind the biggest goal your striving to achieve so you can keep the emotion and burning desire going so you can to complete your goals otherwise, you'll get sidetracked and want to watch television or participate unnecessary trainings. Focusing on just one income producing activity at a time will help you reach your goals more quickly.

How To Use This Information:

The most effective way of using this information is to identify your emotions so you can stay connected to your goals being careful to stick with just one goal. Then everyday in the a.m. and p.m. visualize and feel the emotion of your goals, what your life is going to be like and how you'll feel when you reach your goal. Spend about 5 minutes doing this 4-5 times throughout the day. By disciplining yourself to do this exercise daily you will become so laser focused on building your business that you will not want to be distracted from it. An example of how to visualize would be leaving your day job. Now close your eyes and think of how it's going to feel when you hand your boss your resignation, what it will feel like when you walk out the door and how great it's going to feel when you wake up the next morning in full command of your own work from home business and being able to drive your children to school that day. By making this exercise a daily ritual it will become so powerful that your business will move forward by leaps and bounds and your motivation will never waiver.
