However, they are not a substitute for backing up your files to at least one internal and one external drive. As an online business person, I cannot take the chance of losing any of the valuable files I depend on day in and day out.

4. Install system maintenance software and run it at the end of your workday. What is system maintenance software, you ask? It is more than a registry cleaner. It is an all-in-one software application that checks all or more of the following:

The application should have a one click scanner that checks for registry errors, junk files, disk errors and fragmented disks.
It should contain a system advisor that allows you to disable system applications that slow down your computer.

Repair and defragment the registry. (I don't consider any registry software to be a professional tool unless it defrags the registry.)

The software application must contain an automatic and manual internet optimization feature.

You periodically need to free up space on your computer by eliminating duplicate files. This function should also contain an explore files feature, allowing you to access your main drive plus all of your internal and external backup drives.
