But months later my interest waned. Because Twitter got boring. The bots and spammers had taken over. Every Tweet was a link. No-one talked anymore. I would go on, get bored and get off.

However, that being said, there is a big attraction for the lots of other stuff that is available at your local market. You name it and you can probably find it there. What we want to talk about here is what is probably the line for you sell at the best profit with the least cost to get into. Once you have got your market set up, tables, pop up tent etc, all you will need then is something to sell. One line that has people coming out early for is second hand goods. They know that second hand goods are a limited resource and when you sell them they are gone. I have seen people at markets before daylight with torches to get first pick at the secondhand clothes stall.

People seem to love searching through old stuff in the hope of picking up a bargain. It does not seem to matter what it is as long as it is secondhand and reasonable cheap, they will be there in droves to check out your stall and buy. You just have to make sure you have everything clearly priced. Stick on price labels are readily available at your local newsagent, and lay it all out on your table and watch them come.

So where do you get your stock from. At this rate it sounds like you are going to need new stock every week and this is true. As most markets are on Sunday most people do their stock buying on Saturday. You get the local paper early and by early we mean say 5am. Check out all the likely garage sales and map out your route to inspect as many as you can before all their good stuff is gone. You will find the first people at garage sales are those who are buying stock for resale. I knew a couple who had an antique shop and that was their Saturday morning routine. They would make it a fun time and include breakfast out somewhere. Seldom did they not return home with several nice buys that they could turn into a nice profit.

You will find that many cities have a weekly auction. Sometimes this is also on a Saturday although it could be a day through the week. I have seen people there buying boxes of sundries cheaply and re-selling them at a market stall on the weekend. Auctions are into clearing stuff and lots of the smaller sundries are sold off by the box. I have bought these sometimes for $1 for the box. It is good fun after sorting through to see what you have bought. Sometimes there is a real treasure but always many pieces that are good sales lines for the market. There are lots of lines available there. I used to watch one guy buy boxes of old LP records really cheaply and clean them up and sell them at a nice profit at the market. One of his hobbies was repairing old clocks and he used to buy plenty of those at auctions. Once he had re-furbished them they were a good seller at his market stall. After several years of this he was able to buy a nice little coffee shop business just out of his market proceeds.

Retirement Income - Early Retirement

It seemed that not long ago I was in elementary school, my friend you probably feel the same way, it is amazing how time goes by.
