How to Work at Home for a Passive Income

When most work at home, home based business people talk about passive income, they are basically speaking about some sort of income that takes little or almost no personal effort. Of course, this does not happen overnight, it takes some work and effort to get to this stage, but at some point, you can get there.

o After 25 Months, slow down to Sponsor only 1 a Month to make up for people leaving the business
- 4 People a Month means 1 Person per Week
- To Sponsor/Train 1 Person you need to introduce it to about 10 people.
- Sponsor/Train 1 Person per week = Introduce it to 10 People per week
- Summary = Introduce business to 10 people a week, and in 25 Months, you will have a business of $1000 / Month!
- Are you going to stick with it for 25 Months?

Option 2: The FAST Way

- Sponsor/Train Just ONE Person a Month

o Next Month you also Sponsor/Train 1 person, but ALSO show your Trainee from last month to do the SAME! So end of the second Month you have Personally Sponsored 2, and your first Trainee Sponsored 1, total of 3 in your Business not including yourself!

o Following this System, Month 3, you are at 7 people in your business!

o Less than a year, (about 8 Months!), you'll have over 100 people in your business!

- Sponsor 1 Person per Month = introduce Business to 10 People / Month
- 10 Introductions / Month = 2.5 Per week
- 2.5 People / Week = 1 person every other day!
- Summary: Introduce Business to 1 person every other day, and Teach them to do the same, and in about 8 Months, you will have a business of $1000 a Month!

How Long Do the Extreme "Ups and Downs" Last When You Start a Home Business?

Now, when you focus your mind on finding people to work with you in the business and you want those people to do the same, you have lost focus on what can smooth out the journey for you. I talk to people a lot about this, and if you have read another article of mine, you will think, here he goes again. Let me ask you the question, where do you make your money, is it by representatives signing up and getting paid on that for a month, or is it by sincere customers buying products? Of course, it is the customers. The only reason you make a dime on the sign up, is because many companies place the products in the start-up kits. They get it once and then they do not really want to keep buying the products. This is why I say you need to have a passion for the product. Now, if you are an Avon, Mary Kay, Nuskin, or BeautiControl rep and you need personal care products, you do not go to your local pharmacy and buy the products there because they are cheaper. If you feel the products are better and have more value, you better re-evaluate your business. Why would you promote something you do not believe in?

But it is just not those few companies, no matter what company you are with, if it is travel, telecommunications or nutritional, you better believe in it with an incredible belief and not use anything else. If you just got in to the business because someone said you could make money, you better get out of it or you will probably only lose money.

Now, to prevent the ups and downs, you need to build a solid customer base. Pursue adding 4 or 5 customers a week that will fall in love with the products you love. Now, then you can take and ask your customers, if you could help them get their products cheaper, would they want to know more. Some will and some won't! Does it matter? No, because you are not losing revenue. Again, never say you can make millions, keep it real and yes over time they could, but if they don't you are not misleading them. The more customers you have will remove most of the ups and downs.

You do need to know how to target your market and there are ways to market and ways not to market. Learn from people who understand what works and what does not.

The Truth About Network Marketing & MLM

The problem with this industry, however, is that 97% of the time, people operate in an entirely unprofessional manner and they choose network marketing companies that have ZERO chance of being major players in this industry. This industry is pitched as an opportunity to create "residual income" and "leverage income". However, over the past year, I have easily been called five times or so about "getting in early" with the next big deal and "getting in at the top" of the next giant. All five of those companies are basically out of business now, and the people who were promoting them are either off to their next new startup deal or have quit altogether. How is that for residual income?

The truth about network marketing is that most companies are created and built on hype and BS, and not on sound principles. A 20 year industry legend whose made close to 30 million dollars in RESIDUAL commissions from ONE company recently said that in this industry's 50+ year history, there have been close to 60,000 network marketing companies that have come and gone. He also mentioned that at any given time, there are nearly 2,000 companies worldwide in business. That's a lot of MLMs!

Here's the staggering statistic:

According to the Direct Selling News as of September 2009, only 12 companies are doing in excess of one billion dollars in annual sales. ONLY 12 COMPANIES! And of those 12 companies, you can probably only consider 5 of them to be true MLMs. The other 7 companies are more of a direct sales model, party plan type...ie, Avon, Mary Kay, Tupperware, etc.

To further that distinction, DSN reported that only 68 companies do in excess of 100 million in annual sales. I mean come on people, you need to understand what these statistics are telling you. What are the chances that the "next hottest deal" being pitched online by all the internet marketing gurus/idiots, or that your buddy calls you about is really going to be the next big deal?...NOT LIKELY!

The truth about MLM is that only 5 out of the 60,000 startups over the past 50 years have achieved the one billion dollar annual sales mark and have managed to sustain it. Those companies are Amway, Primerica, Forever Living, Herbalife, and Nuskin. Nuskin is the youngest of those companies, and they just celebrated their 25th anniversary. The leaders in those companies have become very wealthy and have created massive amounts of residual income. It's in the long-term, stable companies that true residual income is possible.

So, no matter what you see or hear online, or at an opportunity meeting, the chances your MLM are going to be the next billion dollar giant are close to non-existent. I don't care how nice the blog is or how many millions of leads that particular guru is generating through his ads, the chances that his/her MLM is a true player is very, very slim. People would be wise to learn what it takes for a company to become one of those giants and align yourself with experienced leaders involved in those companies.

Now, I will say this: out of the 68 or so companies that are in the 100 million dollar plus range, there are a small handful that are showing signs of being the next billion dollar giants, and many of those companies are wonderful companies, with wonderful products, and have helped tens of thousands of people create financial independence. Who these companies are is a topic for entire article on its own.

In sum, the truth about network marketing is that only a handful of companies are true billion dollar companies, and there is a little bit larger group that does in excess of 500 million and sustains it. Those are the companies where you can build REAL businesses, that will provide you the opportunity to create the long-term residual income EVERYONE is looking for. Joining the next hot deal or the next hyped up startup will burn you 99.99% of the time. The history of network marketing tells that story.
