Home Based Income = Auto Repair Today

Working a home based business is like repairing an old car. If you do it correctly the results are gratifying to the owner. If done wrong you get no results. over the years things have changed a great deal in both fields. I am what you call an old school man. I was taught to fix the problem if possible. that means if your starter was bad, I pulled it and rebuilt it from top to bottom. Back in the day, there were no computers to run trouble shooting formulas to tell you what to change or replace. Everything was done with skill and experience.

In the modern world of today, the training is to read a code reader or just replace things in a trouble shooting plan. You have to go to school and become certified to hold a job in a shop.

It's almost as hard to run a home based business. You need the proper training, a good mentor, and the right tools or the right software.

The net is the place to find this, but beware! There are many out there who will stoop to deception to relieve you of your Hard Earned money. I have fallen prey to this a number of times in the past. Like most of the newbies so to speak, I came to the internet to get in on the money, or so I dreamed.

I bought software after precious software all the time thinking they will make me rich quick with them.

I was kidding myself. I soon learned that I had a lot to learn. Punching a few keys on the computer didn't make me a pro. It was nothing like the last Twenty Five years in a shop working on autos or welding a broken housing in the middle of a farmer's field.

These things I could almost do in my sleep. You see, I had a good mentor who had trained me real good. I was not prepared for the net. I didn't know anything about URL or copy and paste. I took typing in school, but that was thirty Five years ago. So for three years I wandered around on the web spinning my wheels, reading countless emails. I eventually lost track of how much money I spent on trash programs, that were just yesterdays E books. I learned a lot reading E books.

Now I have found something worth its weight in gold to anyone who want's to learn the correct way.

You can't go wrong with a good mentor. Some offer help for a price. If you are like me, money is a problem in the beginning.

Come see me, you won't regret it. Chuck

Network Marketing Information - Are You Totally Confused About Marketing Online?

Well, guess what? I've felt the same way far too long. So, believe it or not, I can really empathize with you. With all of the confusing noise about marketing online these days, it's no wonder you're ready to punch a hole in your computer monitor. I mean...come on! This marketer wants you to build a membership site, that guru wants you to buy into their building different niche/websites each month for thirty-six months, and the other upline wants you to do more of what hasn't worked for over twenty years, you know, old school and out-dated marketing methods.

Let's face it, all of the aforementioned is detrimental to your mental health if you're a newbie. I will break down the three mentioned strategies and you will discover how to overcome them.

Membership Sites

As for the onslaught of new people coming online, partly due to the foreseeable economic meltdown, I thought it would be to your benefit to have a better understanding of the three marketing strategies to stay away from; regarding the three mentioned above. Which without question and without doubt, will waste your time, energy, and money; I've been there done that. So, let's dig into the matter at hand; shall we? In regards to membership sites, it's plain to see that you'd better be business savvy, have deep pockets, know how to outsource the gifts and talents of others to compensate for your weaknesses, and most importantly, be able and willing to deliver content continuously and on demand.

Most membership site owners have their hands full is an understatement; some have told me. I know because I've cancelled out of a membership and I'm still a member three weeks later. The bottom line is, that you shouldn't be pitched to start a membership site with your lack of capital, knowledge, and time, especially if you're working a j.o.b. still. So, for obvious reasons, you should remain on the receiving end of a membership site so long as you're getting the value you signed up for and the benefits promised. There are a lot more components to consider when evaluating a membership site to join, however, these should be enough to get the picture.

Niche Sites

When it comes down to niche sites, this is where you're told to set up a website in a different niche for twelve to thirty-six months. The guru will tell you how brain dead simple it is because they're practically giving you their pulg-in-play system with templates, etc. But, of course, the guru went through all of the blood, sweat, and tears so that you won't have to; make me sick! Oh! but, you have a whole month to set up your site and start profiting from it. Then go onto the next site says the guru. Really! it's that easy? Please...you'll need a month just to read an e-book or organize your desk, if you were like me not too long ago, let alone get into profit your very first month!

In my opinion, you're just building a house of cards on sand. Not to mention you'll need to acquire a penn name for each of those niches, if you're smart, so that people don't look at you as a know it all, jack of all trades and master of none. So, in the long run, you'll end up losing stability and credibility. I'm sure that the mega niches syndrome has worked for some advanced marketers, but, for the unsuspecting newbie looking for marketing information online, not! Now I'm not dogging the person that has a couple of niches under their belt, over a period of years, that's cool. However, the ones I see that are truly successful marketing online have a passion for a niche and ride that horse with a laser-like focus to the better end. Which I highly recommend that you do...I'm doing it too.

Old School Prospecting

Now last, but, not least, we come to old school methods of prospecting, ouch! Hopefully you haven't had to go down this miserable, painful, demoralizing path; most of us have. If you have too, are you done yet? Have you experienced your mental cleansing yet? Well, hope you're ready to continue. If you noticed, I said old school methods of prospecting, not marketing. Why? because there's no marketing in old school methods. It's all about chasing people, friends, family and hunting instead of being the hunted. You may or may not know that being the hunted is one of the key ingredients to being a successful marketer. Anyway, shall I rattle off a few more go nowhere, loser prospecting methods that I used to do, and see if you identify with any of them?

Let's see, home parties, calling dead beat leads for hours on end, slapping flyers on car windshields of people attending an Excel Communications hotel meeting; I was paranoid doing that one. Conducting three-way calls the wrong way, I'm sure you get the gist. Again, I'd be getting writers cramp if I divulged every stinking aspect of old school, besides, I don't want your stomach turning. So, let's get on with the good stuff, shall we? A successful marketer once told me that I must position myself, as a leader, in the market place of my choice, period! So that I can attract the right people to me. That's a definite start in the right direction. I believe that's it's one that you won't forget or regret.

Old School Networking - Is it Still Important in Today's Business Climate?

When it comes to changes in the way things are done, many people attach a bad connotation to the term "old school". If it is old school then it must be out-dated, making the procedure worthless, or at least not as effective as newer methods.

Don't forget it wasn't too many years ago that many successful network marketing businesses were build using the old-school methods. Before the rise of the Internet and its popularity in conducting business, people would have to use the so called old-school methods to build their MLM business.

That meant phone calls, hotel meetings, living room presentations, one-on-ones at coffee shops, circle of influence, passing out business cards etc. And remember, these methods worked. And for many people they worked very well. Mention these tactics today and people will tell you that you're crazy!

With the Internet, among other advances in technology, many people have chosen to cast aside the old-school methods of building an MLM business. The phone is a tool of the past. Hotel meetings? What are they? Do what in the living room?

Many of today's networkers don't even consider the old-school methods. They are of the opinion that they are out-dated and not very effective. But can they still be used in such a way that they could be useful in building your home based business?

Some of the so called old-school methods can still be an effective way to build a network marketing business. It's just a matter of choosing the ones that you think would help you and developing the skills to make them effective. Some networkers do use a number of the old-school methods and they work very well for them.

The reason is that some of these methods put a personal touch on your business building efforts. Remember, network marketing is about building relationships. And the so called old-school methods were such that personal contact played a major role building a network marketing business.

Calling people on the phone, while not my favorite method, is a necessary part of business building. It is so important that you make contact on a personal level with your prospects. Do you really get a lot of personal contact with all of those emails you send out? Not likely.

And what better way can there be to put your business opportunity in front of some of your friends than having a good old living room presentation? People are comfortable. You know them. They can see and touch your products. It is business at its best.

Don't think that because a business building method is old that it is not a good method. You have to decide for yourself and then be determined to build your business. It doesn't matter how many changes are made in the ways of doing business, some of the old-school methods are great business builders. Try them and see how they work.

Is MLM the Right Choice For a Stay at Home Parent?

Parents who choose MLM do so for many different reasons. One of the biggest being the need to generate a second income that will help relieve financial pressures. Sadly though, in most cases, even the very ambitious fail in MLM!

The ideal childcare scenario for most parents would probably be this. One of them stays at home as full time carer of the children and manager of the household while the other goes out to work.

This means of course that there is only one income coming into the house, but never the less, this arrangement provides the perfect solution to ever present childcare problems (especially when children are pre school age) and can actually save a lot of money in childcare costs.

There are also other benefits. The parent who decides to stay at home is likely to find that their relationship with their children grows even stronger and the parent who goes out to work has peace of mind knowing that their children are in safe hands. In this scenario all members of the family can benefit!

Unfortunately though, most families find it hard to survive on just one income meaning that the working partner ends up working every hour possible in order to make ends meet.

For this reason many stay at home parents consider starting a home-based business as a way to solve cash flow problems and also avoid them in the future.

All in all MLM would seem to be a good option. It is a business that can easily be run from home when the children are at school or in the evening when they are sleeping.

For many parents MLM ticks many of the right boxes:

- It allows flexible working hours.
- They are their own bosses.
- The start up costs of an MLM business are practically nothing when compared with a traditional business.
- There is no need to handle any stock.

And the most tempting reason of all for choosing MLM:

- The promise of huge earnings with very little effort!!!!

The benefits of MLM tend to sell them selves and on the face of it seems to be the perfect business. But in reality, becoming successful in MLM is actually much tougher than many people would hope or are made to believe!

The vast majority of people, after spending many months and every spare hour on their new businesses, fail to sign up a single prospect or even speak to a single prospect who has the slightest bit of interest in their product and/or business opportunity.

They carry on regardless and console themselves with the thought that MLM is just a numbers game and in the end the numbers will work out in their favour.

The truth is that they are most likely heading for failure. Not because they lack enthusiasm or commitment but because they are employing out dated, old school marketing techniques that were never likely to work in the first place.

As far as most people are aware, or are told by their sponsors, the whole MLM industry uses these same out dated methods. The reality is though that 97% of people in MLM never make any real money at all.

It is a fact that some people do very well in MLM. There are some extremely wealthy individuals out there who can testify to this, but they belong to a very small minority, about 3% to be exact and are certainly not using out dated old school marketing techniques. Far from it!

It is not that they are exceptionally gifted, lucky or talented though. What makes them successful is that they know how to use modern techniques and strategies to market effectively.

The old school techniques may have worked for some in the past but these are different times we are living in and different techniques are needed.

It is not the fault of the individual that they do not succeed. They are simply doing exactly what they were told to do by their sponsor and this is exactly the problem.

Nobody is taught how to actually market properly. Sponsors continue to teach old school methods that rely upon playing the numbers game. This basically means pitching the opportunity to as many people as possible until eventually somebody signs up. The problem is that if prospects are not signing up they are not earning any money.

With a modern and effective marketing system it is not necessary to play this game and the system will actually earn money regardless of whether or not prospects sign up for the business opportunity.

It is possible to monetize prospecting efforts and actually generate a very good income while attracting hundreds, or even thousands, of pre-qualified prospects who actually have a real desire to learn more about the opportunity.

This is how it is possible to build a huge down line and is exactly how the big hitters in MLM achieve their success. They monetize every aspect of their marketing plan. Every part of their marketing system is earning them an income while generating them incredible numbers of prospects for their businesses.

If you are a stay at home parent considering MLM then you should go for it! But, proceed with caution and get informed. Take the time to learn how the seriously successful network marketers have achieved their success and use these techniques. This way it is possible for anybody to succeed in MLM.

It goes without saying though, that no matter how good a marketing system is it is still necessary to get the basics of MLM right in order to succeed.

You must have a great product to market, preferably one that you love and use yourself, and that you have actually received benefits from. You need to be able to tell a TRUE personal story about your experience. If you are not enthusiastic about, or don't really believe in the product, forget it!

Also make sure that the company producing your products is financially secure and will be around for the foreseeable future. They should ideally have at least five years trading behind them, the more the better.

The last thing you want is to spend the next two years building your business only to see your company go under!
