Personal Kinds of Sales Letter Leaves Clues

The toughest challenge that every business faces today is to sell its products and services to the people. We all know that there are many ways of direct and internet marketing but it is difficult to attract customers at the time when there is recession and cost cutting worldwide. There are many websites which are very well optimized and have many visitors on daily basis but still fail to generate sales. People are very conscious about what they want to purchase. It is for this reason that techniques that were earlier considered as a sure shot way of generating good sales are now failing to motivate the people to even have a look at the product and one such technique is emailing sales letter.

A couple of years back when people were not too savvy about internet and how things works on the world wide web, email marketing was considered a good way of generating leads. A sales letter was drafted and sent to hundreds of people worldwide and that was enough to motivate the people to have a look at the products. Now the scenario has changed. When a person opens a mail and sees that it has been sent to many others as well, the mail is marked as spam.

It is important to implement a personal approach while sending sales letter. Personal kinds of sales letter help in building a closer relationship with people. It has become a common trend now that almost all shops ask their customer to fill in some details like personal address, date of birth, email id etc. All the information is recorded and the customer is pleased to receive an email or card on his or her birthday. Personal reference in sales letter also helps in getting direct response from the customer. A small positive change in sales letters can actually do miracle for your sales campaign.

Quilts For Sale - 5 Reasons Why We Wrestle With Retail Pricing

Many of us wrestle with how to price our quilting projects especially when we are first starting out in business. We have designed our personal line of quilts and we have our shelves well stocked and ready for business.

Before starting your quilting business you had probably visited many quilting stores or shops and looked at the price of their quilts. You also told yourself you could make a quilt for a more reasonable price as you thought the retailer was too expensive.

The coin has flipped. You are now the retailer and from the retailers point of view the cost looks very differently. And that is the problem...how to price your quilts for sale. You are sincerely concerned about this because you want to please the customer with a fair price but at the same time you need to make a profit. Speaking from experience, if you do not make a profit, you cannot continue to be in business. It may sound harsh, but it is true.

Here are 5 reasons why we are wrestling with retail pricing:

We love the quilts that we made.
Our quilts are our personal design.
Our fabrics and notions were costly.
We worked very hard.
It takes many hours of labor to complete a quilt.
You will need to re-evaluate your thinking. I know and understand from a personal point of view how difficult it is to part with our quilts; nonetheless, we need to think as a business person and be objective. We need to be a stranger to our quilts and discard any emotional attachment that we have for our creations.

A stranger has fallen in love with your design, your workmanship, and the types of fabrics that you used, and it is perfect for her personal use. She is willing to pay a fair and reasonable price for your quilt.

Here are 7 reasons why a customer will purchase your quilt:

It will meet her needs.
She loves it.
She recognizes the amount of work and labor that went into making it.
She could not make it herself as she does not know how to quilt.
She does not have the time to sew a quilt.
If she could quilt she could never have created what you designed.
It is perfect and she is willing to pay monies to have it for herself.
Do not hesitate to sell your creation as another person will truly enjoy and share in the love. The customer will continue to add her memories and keep your quilt alive for a very long time. It may even continue into the future as an heirloom for their family.

Professional Placement - C-Level Only

I attended a meeting today. This meeting had nothing to do with twelve steps, nor was it sponsored by the local courts. It was part of a networking method sponsored by a leading placement service. We had a guest speaker from a sister (or cooperative service) that favored consulting - doesn't look that bad on a resume - and was a strong proponent of the fact that we all might be faced with a lesser salary and benefits package. Not what I really wanted to hear.

After the presentation, we had the customary round robin. The group consisted of two dozen or so former C-level professionals; CEOs, CFOs, CIOs and CHROs. I think a not too certain "Csomething" also chimed in. Everyone present came from six figure incomes. Each, in our own three minute spotlight, circulated resumes and told of our progress, our pain and described the problems we had encountered since the last meeting. One by one, our personal situation was opened to the floor for comment and critique. The group commented, made helpful suggestions and even divulged connections that would provide the job seeker a potential leg up in their quest.

Kudos to the few that had turned down offers because the compensation was inadequate, change of location was imminent, chances for personal fulfillment were remote, character would be deflated or consulting was just not permanent enough. Is it ever?

It astounded me, however, that from this group of well trained, experienced, past captains of industry, not one proposed to create their own job. Not one was willing to invent their future. Not one was ready to strike out on their own. Everyone seemed conditioned to focus on a paycheck rather than profit.

I fully understand that feeling of security, but that feeling was severely undermined when I was summarily dismissed after 21 years of exemplary service as a result of "reprehensible behavior" during a holiday party. For the record, a copy machine was not on the premises. I came from a large organization. How was I supposed to know that she was the owner's under aged daughter? She looked 25 to me. It was such a small offense but nonetheless carried a "capital" sentence. I was charged, arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced before I was even made aware. I am now carrying out my sentence on my own personal Elba during the negotiated transitional period.

It was my first C-level meeting and I presented last. I wasn't prepared to circulate a resume that didn't yet exist. I had yet to get into a queue for an interview. And although I am wise and experienced in my very employable field, I'm still not sure whether I want to spend any more of my life being responsible for technology. I want to use it, but just don't feel I can answer for it any longer. I love technology and believe it to be the foundation for the business of the future. How otherwise, can you reach such large audiences?

I spoke from my heart and exclaimed that I didn't want another job; that I had been working from home (consulting during the transition) for the past few months and it suited me. The real motivation for being at the meeting was to assure my former wife and two daughters that I was making an attempt to be able to continue to support them in the lifestyle to which they had become accustomed. The laughter went up, although I was quite serious.

Perhaps this isn't a lead, but rather a form of commitment. I truly believe there is wealth beyond belief to be made through internet marketing. I possessed the entrepreneurial spirit all of my life and would be remiss if I didn't take this transitional opportunity to pursue it. I'm not looking for a get rich quick scheme nor instant millions. I'm looking for my own business opportunities and am willing to do the work to deliver a product of value to my customers and future team members. It is still early in a new era of marketing and I choose to strike out on my own rather than sentence myself to months of meetings and years of labor at an endeavor for which I have no real passion. I really enjoyed spending the time with my new found friends at the meeting. I learned a great deal from their comments and aggregate wisdom. However for me, I'm headed West for the gold rush.

I did a lot of research about internet marketing and found that I didn't live up to the tag of Neophyte. I've been enchanted and immersed in a college level course (sans credit).

If you have aspirations, take a look.

3 Critical Alerts Regarding Your Website Legal Forms For Privacy and Data Security

Website privacy and data security violations continue to be the most critical legal concern for webmasters of software-as-a-service (SaaS) websites and ecommerce websites. Just think about it - most marketing practices involve capturing data, including personal information about prospects, and using this data to market products or services.

How you collect, store, use, and share this information is now highly regulated, not only by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), but also by various states. What you say in your website legal forms, website legal documents, and privacy policies is critical. Three recent legal developments illustrate why webmasters of SaaS websites and ecommerce websites should monitor and stay current with these developments, or suffer severe consequences.

New Massachusetts Data Security Statute

Effective March 1, 2010, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires new data security requirements for personal information of Massachusetts residents (201 CMR 17.00). The new requirements apply to all persons or businesses that "own, license, store or maintain personal information about Massachusetts residents.

"Personal information" includes a Massachusetts resident's name if linked to his/her social security number, driver's license or state ID card number, or financial account/credit/debit card number that would allow access to the resident's financial records.

If you're regulated by the new statute, you're required among other things to develop and maintain a data security policy and to require encryption "to the extent technically feasible" of the storage and transmittal of personal information regardless of whether the storage is electronic or the transmittal is by portable device (laptop or handheld device) or over public networks or the Internet.

Penalties and fines for violations are $100 per person affected with a maximum cap of $50,000.

FTC Issues Guides for Peer-to-Peer Networks

On February 22, 2010, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that it had notified almost 100 organizations -- including large and small private and public companies, schools, and local governments - that their customers' or employees' personal information was vulnerable on peer-to-peer (P2P) networks.

The FTC was concerned that P2P networks operated by these organizations may inadvertently be providing an opening for unintentional access to personal information. According to FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz, "Companies should take a hard look at their systems to ensure that there are no unauthorized P2P file-sharing programs and that authorized programs are properly configured and secure."

In addition to the notification letters, the FTC issued a guide on its ftc.gov website entitled "Peer-to-Peer File Sharing: A Guide For Business". The guide provides data security recommendations including identification of security risks and steps to protect personal information from unauthorized access on P2P networks. are no unauthorized P2P file-sharing programs and that authorized programs are properly configured and secure."

ControlScan CEO Pays $102,000 in FTC Settlement

On February 25, 2010 the FTC announced a settlement with ControlScan.com of FTC charges that ControlScan had misled consumers about how often ControlScan monitored websites, including steps taken by ControlScan to verify the websites' privacy and security practices.

The founder and former CEO of ControlScan entered into a separate settlement requiring him to pay $102,000 in ill-gotten gains.

Privacy and security certification programs such as ControlScan are used by webmasters to provide assurance to consumers regarding how the website treats the privacy and security of personal information. The FTC alleged that ControlScan provided its certifications to websites with "little or no verification" of their privacy protections.

Most of these website documents and legal forms should be posted on the website, and therefore would be visible to any potential joint venture partner checking out your website.

This case underscores how seriously the FTC views privacy and security of personal information stored on websites, as well has how closely the FTC is observing representations regarding privacy and security. The FTC is on the lookout not only for websites that misrepresent what they do regarding privacy and security, but also what certification websites represent that other websites do about privacy and security.

Conclusion

The worst mistakes a n ecommerce webmaster can make is to have "borrowed" a privacy policy from someone else or to have an outdated privacy policy that either does not make the required disclosures or misrepresents what the website does regarding privacy and security.

The legal liability can be substantial.

The Fortune is in the Follow-Up

If you are in MLM I am sure you've heard that the fortune is in the follow-up. Why is that true, and how do you follow up? Marketing research has shown that the "average" person needs to be exposed to a new idea about 7 times before they reach a decision. Of course some will decide right away and some may need 100 exposures, but they say the average is 7.

There are several ways to followup:

Autoresponder emails
Personal emails
Social media
Phone calls
Letters

Autoresponders are a necessity in my opinion. You need a proven system of what to say, at what interval, to keep people in the loop and it is also helpful if you can see how many of the emails they actually read. With a good autoresponder campaign you can actually have people join your business a year or more after initial contact! Especially if you are not experienced at marketing, a system where someone who does have that experience has written the emails for you is essential. Your autorespnder system may also provide a way to send a mass email to everyone. I use this feature to invite people to training calls.

Personal emails can be used in between autoresponder emails to set up times for phone calls, or to give the prospect timely new information that would not be included in previously written autoresponder emails. Also use personal emails if you have built a relationship and want to convey personal information, like a "happy birthday" or "is your child feeling better today."

Social media has SO many applications! I have formed a group on Facebook from friends I invited and some people who just found the group and joined it. I send one message that I customize each week based on what is on my mind. The second message I send is to invite people to a training call we have every Saturday, and I tell them what the topic will be this week. I also find many people prefer to communicate on Facebook or Twitter rather than using email. And I love the information I can get from people's profiles! I can learn so much about them, even their personality type!

Phone calls are something I personally am careful with (more on that below) but I always try to contact a new prospect by phone at least twice. There is no substitute for a live personal conversation. Each time I do speak with someone, I ask when would be a good time to call again and respect their answer.

Letters are something rarely used these days. One reason is that most capture pages do not get street addresses, and many people are reluctant for security reasons to provide them. But if you do have someone's mailing address you can certainly send them a personal note along with material they might find helpful. Now, on to the question of how to make sure follow up is respectful! This actually has much to do with the prospect's personality type. The personality types are:

Yellow (phlegmatic-nurturer)
Blue (sanguine-fun seeker)
Green (melancholy-analytical)
Red (choleric-money oriented)

Yellows and blues are both open, and blues especially love talking, so frequent communication in almost any form is probably OK. Some people feel you should call every day the first week until you have a live conversation. I personally go for every-other day, 2 or 3 calls maximum, then let the autoresponder take over. Blues also tend to be disorganized and can be forgetful, so frequent follow-up is needed to keep them on track and thinking about you!

Greens (like myself) do NOT like to be contacted often by phone, and need time to research things on their own before deciding on anything. When you encounter this type of person you need to give them all of the information you can and let them ponder. Do NOT follow up too often with a green!

Reds are all about the money and quick to see the big picture. They don't have time for personal information and chit chat. These people are likely to decide quickly, and if they don't like what they see right away they will normally opt out of your system.

It is absolutely necessary to always allow people to opt out of communication! You can be sued if you do not allow this and honor it, so be very careful! I hope you find this helpful. The main thing is to realize that you will almost never make a sale or get a new sign-up in the first contact, so staying in touch with people is the key!

Network Marketing - A Path to Personal Healing - The Mastermind Group

People enter into the field of network marketing for so many different reasons, but the most common motivations appear to be the the attraction of the huge potential income, the loss or impending loss of a job, the need to stay at home yet continue to earn, and the need to augment retirement. But there is another one, one that surfaces after the process is well underway, one completely unexpected. This one appears quietly, slipping into your awareness only after weeks, maybe months of effort and work, first as a side effect, but then quickly becoming a powerful motivation to keep moving forward, even on the days that feel like failure. That surprise is the experience of personal healing.

Two years ago I suffered a catastrophic loss that dismantled my life as I knew it. For months I sat on my sofa, wadded up in a blanket, utterly unable to crawl up out of my own personal black hole. Despair became a constant companion, and the spark of life dwindled to a pinpoint. I knew it was going to take something totally new to jump-start my heart, and I prayed daily for the light to return. And it did, but in an unexpected way. I got an invitation to attend one of Dani Johnson's "First Steps To Success" seminars.

Some instinctual knowing that a door had opened drew me and I got myself moving, pushing through the ravages of isolation to get that event. And once there, I was nearly overwhelmed with being in that room full of busy, active, vibrant people who were filled with purpose. It was exhausting and nearly beyond my strength, but I hung in, because I was alarmed to see to the vast contrast between my very low state, and the aliveness around me. I saw I had help myself, or I would be lost! The message Dani kept delivering over and over was that I had within me a God-given potential to do something great, and that all I needed was commitment and persistence, and association with powerfully positive people. And something within me dormant for long dark months reawakened. I listened to story after story of those who had hit their own rock bottom and risen up to triumph. It was a lifeline! I knew that I had found a group of people who were walking a path that I could step onto myself, a path of personal healing. I couldn't see clearly at the time what I needed to do, but I knew I had to move forward in faith.

One of the hardest challenges of grief was the injury to my belief in the goodness of life and the value of my own spirit. Being in the community of successful network marketers directly refuted this. Loss can come in so many forms, different from my particular experience; loss of a job, home, break up of a marriage, any difficult or unwelcome change, or perhaps the struggle against poverty. The single most valuable advice I took at the beginning of this journey, was to create for myself a mastermind group. Dani Johnson was my first mastermind mentor.

At that early stage in her seminar, I did not even know the term, yet I was powerfully aware of the uplifting impact of being in her field of influence. A great spiritual maxim is, "The mind takes on the color of the company it keeps." I began to read and study and listen to talks by other leaders in this field: Jim Rohn, Darren Hardy, Napoleon Hill (Think And Grow Rich), Mike Dillard, Brian Fanale, Jim Chao, and Norbert Orlewicz. I often watch the movies "What the Bleep Do We Know," and "The Secret." Listening to the stories of others who just like me started out from a humble place, helped me to grasp I was not any different. And though I did not personally know any self-made millionaires (well, I did meet Dani!), through books and the internet, studying and listening, I could saturate my negative thinking and negative emotions with the positive counter thoughts of my mastermind group. Slowly over time, I am learning how to direct my thinking along the pathways of successful people. And through this, the grief begins to be replaced with hope. I have found purpose!

In the year and a half since that first seminar my journey has taken many turns as I have sought out more teachers and skills. I have so many moments when the sun shines that I have never doubted my choice, and always the movement is upward, even, when looking back, it did not seem so. I still have days when grief rolls in to wash away the light, but in this process of acquiring the skills of getting myself out there into the world, I have connected with so many positive and committed people who have helped me to find my voice, and the courage and joy to be seen; these potent and supportive mastermind relationships I have formed along the way keep me steady on the path, and help me to keep singing my song, because I know the darkness always passes. If you are in the place of despair, there is hope, there is a remedy. Find your mentors, form your own mastermind group, and allow their positivity to carry you along until you are on your feet again. And who knows, perhaps one day your words will in turn uplift others.

Discover Your Niche Ideas and Turn Your Profitable Niche Ideas Into an Online Business

We are all students of life, and we become better people when we strive to learn all that we can about the world we live in. But we are also all teachers. We expand our own knowledge when we share what we already know with others. During my fifty years of life I have learned many skills and explored my many talents. My skills include mechanics, machining, music, and business management. I have taught two of my friends to be machinists, and they both now work at this occupation. I taught two teenage boys how to play the bass guitar and they both play in bands today. However, my passion and my personal niche is online marketing. I enjoy learning all I can about being successful in business and I especially enjoy teaching others how to build their own Internet businesses and how to be profitable marketing on the Internet. The skills and knowledge that we learn is ours for the rest of our lives. No one can ever take it away from us.

What is your personal niche? Look inside yourself and ask yourself, "If I could earn a living doing something that I love to do, what would it be?" Perhaps you love gardening, but that is too general of a term. You need to be as specific as possible when it comes to evaluating your niche ideas. Is it flower gardening? What specific type of flower do you like to grow? If you said, for example, that you enjoy growing roses, then that could be your marketing niche. You could then write an e-book about cultivating roses, set up a small niche website on the Internet and sell your e-book and perhaps some gardening products that are related to growing roses.

You obviously can not compete with the large gardening companies on every product line that they offer, but you can target a specific portion of the market pertaining to cultivating roses. There are thousands of profitable niches that can be targeted with online marketing and you want to research your competition before undertaking such a venture. If you find that your niche ideas are likely to be profitable niches, then it would certainly be worth your time and effort to compose your e-book and market it to the public.

There is a great personal satisfaction to be gained when we share our passions and our knowledge with others and see them also become passionate about the same things we are interested in. Explore all of your various niche ideas and share your knowledge with the world, but most of all, share your joy and share a little piece of yourself with others. You will find it to be very rewarding and you will be a better person for having done so.

Taking Advantage of an Internet Income Opportunity

With all the business opportunities available to the modern entrepreneur sometimes we can be blinded by so many options. So many new innovations have sprung up in the past 5 years it is hard to know where to begin; internet income opportunity is just around the corner for us all. We just need to open our eyes and look around us to find methods of making money online in ways that most people do not even think about.

Website and Graphic Design of the Future

This is a booming business field for anyone who knows any sort of web or graphic design. You can make your living building web pages for other people or just by providing graphics of all sorts for other web page designers. Some one will always need help designing a web page for personal or business needs and this will be a very lucrative field in the near future as more and more business move online.

Copywriting: Back to Basics

This is broad field of business and encompasses many things. Each of the things I am going to mention in this section can be a whole field of study and income all itself. Copywriting is probably the most common income source of Internet marketing. It encompasses sales letter writing, writing ads for businesses and writing articles and sales copy for a variety of online businesses.

Social Marketing: Wave of the Future

This actually encompasses two different fields; social media sites and social bookmarking. Working with social media is a becoming more standard now and will be very common place in the near future. It is too essential a service for businesses not to be involved. The ways we communicate in our personal lives and in the modern Internet business world are changing in a manner that we could not have predicted a year ago. Social media and bookmarking form the foundation of this future and we can not afford to be without. Someone who knows these fields very well could be sitting on a business gold mine.

To Blog or Not To Blog

This is one of the most lucrative fields on the internet today. There are so many opportunities here I will just cover a couple of them because there is so much information it would easily overwhelm you. The most common way to create income in this field is to create your own blog and place ads on it for either your products or those of the many ad networks out there today.

The other option is to blog for someone else. This is getting more and more common as time goes by. There is so much to do in the Internet marketing world that sometimes it can be hard to know what opportunity to pursue first. Internet income opportunity is everywhere when you surf online, on every page and in every forum. The key is to be able to identify and take advantage of an Internet income opportunity when it presents itself.

LifePath Unlimited Business Opportunity

An Associate will be required to sign an agreement and pay a $97 enrollment fee. There is no product purchase requirement to become an Associate; however, in order to be activated immediately as a representative to retail and make commissions on the product, you must purchase the product at full retail price. An Associate who does not purchase the product can earn the product and be activated as a representative by referring 5 sales & the commission associated with those sales to their Enroller or the person above them. After referring 5 sales of a product and passing up the commission on those sales, LifePath Unlimited will ship the earned product to the newly activated Representative, and they are now qualified to earn commissions on that product. This process will have to happen for each of the products; The Discovery study course, the Breakthrough Conference, and the Destiny Conference.

LifePath Unlimited is a personal development company, who prides itself on teaching positive mindset, etc.; but spends a large amount of their advertising dollars on talking negatively & offending their competition; instead of promoting their own business & products. This type of marketing tends to be a turn-off to a lot of people.

Personal Development is vital for success in our personal lives and business; however, you have to decide whether or not most people would pay this type of money for personal development. There are many other successful personal development tools & books on the market that don't carry this type of price tag. Our advice is to examine LifePath Unlimited's product very carefully before jumping into a business that requires such a large investment or passing up of large amounts of commission before you're able to make money.
