There are billions out there and it is easy to become overloaded by them all. The best thing that you can do is to realize that most of these ideas that are promoted on the Internet today are nothing but schemes and that if it seems too good to be true...it probably is.

From the many that I have seen and the many I have been involved with, most are nothing but a farce that does sound promising with the hope of making money Online...but the returns are nil. Ten Years, Ten Thousand Hours

Consider the following occupations: airline pilot, cardiac surgeon, financial planner. If you needed the services in any of these sectors, would you be more inclined to select a practitioner who had the most experience? Given our druthers, a pilot, surgeon, or planner who has been working in her field for a minimum of ten years would seem a better choice than working with a rookie.

Nobody is born knowing his craft. Becoming a master in one's field requires time, practice, and a willingness and commitment to start from scratch in order to eventually excel. Captain "Sully" Sullenberger, the forty-two-year veteran pilot of US Airways who landed a jumbo jet in the Hudson River last year said in an interview, ""I was sure I could do it." This is the voice of experience.

In Outliers, a brilliant book about success, Malcolm Gladwell discusses two benchmarks for being able to predict mastery: the number of years and the number of hours someone has devoted to his field. Ten and ten thousand respectively appear to be the magic figures. Few people who begin a career in network marketing start off seeing themselves still working their businesses over the next decade. However, if we compare the desire to achieve financial freedom with the skills required for such a monumental accomplishment, the question should become, "Why not ten years?"

The Gift of Mistakes

Nothing teaches as effectively as learning from our mistakes. We should pay attention to what went wrong with a clear intent to improve as a result of what we learned. I have had two long careers that spanned over ten years, one being network marketing. In both careers, when the five year bell rang I had the distinct experience that I was no longer working in the dark. When the clock struck ten years, again, I experienced a shift for having run out of major mistakes that had peppered my experience in the early years. Mistakes will provide us with lessons that are critical for developing confidence and proficiency. We should avoid mistakes; we should also respect them for the teachers that they are. It seems a shame to me to make mistakes and then not to stick around to benefit from the lessons that they provide.

Making Money Versus Creating Wealth

Some people come to network marketing and appear to defy the laws of nature as they fly up the ranks of their company's leadership levels. These breathtaking feats are an inspiration to others who take longer to hit the mark. However, there is something incredibly important to remember: the people who make fast money might not be the same as those who create freedom. The later takes time, years in fact. There is nothing wrong with being a super star from the beginning. But if those efforts go up in flames due to unwillingness on the part of the associate to solidify what was built, then network marketing begins to look like a job in which the income stops when the work comes to a halt. We promulgate freedom. How many of us stick around long enough for that golden egg?

One could expedite the "ten thousand hours" by giving more presentations in less time thus improving more rapidly than someone who gives fewer presentation over a longer period of time.

Anyone who has worked in this business faithfully has inevitably experienced the ups and downs that come with the territory. Over time, the ratio of challenges to rewards shifts. Some of the most magical things happen only as a result of sustained effort. After ten years, people who have been watching you may decide that it is time to work with you. Among these people are a couple of individual or even one person who could help you take your business to a whole new level. For anyone who quits early in the game, she runs the risk of not being able to answer the call of someone who wasn't ready before, but is now. This is the same for distributors in your organization who fell asleep at the wheel. Some of these individuals will only come back to the business if someone is there holding the fort when they lift their heads to be counted. Frequently, these people are particularly valuable because they may have been loyal product users all this time. When they decide to get involved, their belief is even higher than someone who recently got involved. These people are great assets to your organization. Don't Put on Weight Starting an Online Business - It's Bad For Business

It is so easy to be swept into the unrelenting intensity of knowledge and advice on the internet. The remarkable availability of skill based learning tools is breathtaking and exciting, given that so much of it is offered free or at readily obtainable prices.

So consumed can we be by the new widget, gizmo, or tweak that we can apply to our internet business that we forget the natural business needs of our bodies.

Time zone differences can plant essential webinars smack across our regular meal times. Self-imposed deadlines can mean snacking and even irregular junk food intake with coffee can replace properly prepared meals and is much easier..

Intriguingly, from a cognitive standpoint, we can somehow seem to justify to ourselves that the unhealthy eating is something which is allowable in the circumstances and has to be tolerated by others. Sub-consciously we can actually enjoy the salty food or the sweet sugary cakes and biscuits as we deal with the tensions and frustrations of growing our online business.

And drinking is far better restricted to water or herbal teas. Ugh! I hear some of you say! But have you tried them? It will do wonders for your digestive system

And eat good brain food in plenty. Oily fish is good, such as mackerel and sardines. But even milk, cheese and eggs in moderation are good too. So there is no need to think it has to be a form of starvation diet.

And, of course, exercise by at least going for regular brisk walks.

Try this metaphor or at least work on it to embellish it in a way that you can adopt it as a mindset to remain in good physical shape.

Visualise your online business as if it were like the most advanced passenger jet and you are its only pilot.

On board in the passenger cabin, metaphorically speaking, you have not only partners, you have family and extended family. You have friends and maybe representatives of favourite charities you will want to give money to when you are really successful. In the plane's hold, you have all your computer and software investment, all your business plans. In you lies your goals, and the outcome of all your time and resource you have invested.

Now the crunch! If you needed to hand over the flight controls to someone else to pilot you on this epic business journey, who would you select? A qualified pilot, of course! But given all that you have vested in that plane and that flight, and in what it is carrying, wouldn't you want someone fit, healthy, on top of his or her game? Would you - and should you settle for anything less?
