Home Based Businesses For Unemployed Teachers

In today's economy, teachers are worried about increasing their students' achievement and now faced with the grim reality that they may be forced to leave the job that they love-teaching and inspiring others. In the event that teachers are unemployed, there are other avenues in which teachers can look for great opportunities. These opportunities are in education and draws upon their talents and skill sets.

There are three home-based businesses that unemployed teachers should consider, which the following are:

1. Online Teaching: Teachers can teach at K-12 virtual schools and still make a living. There are several virtual schools and more opportunities will be available given the technology advance. Teachers that have at least a Master's degree or above can work at community colleges and universities. Individuals who are seeking online teaching opportunities should look for the book, "Make Money Teaching Online". The pay for online teaching depends on the degree program, but can range from $1000-$3000 per course. Typically, each course runs for 5-8 weeks.

2. Tutoring: Tutoring is a great way for teachers to showcase their skills and keep their knowledge sharp in many subject areas. Individuals can tutor in their homes or in another centralized location, but manage the business at home. Tutors who offer quality service and keep their prices at a competitive rate will thrive because parents are looking for affordable tutoring options. A good resource to help start a home-based tutoring business is the book, "Becoming a Better Tutor: A Data-Driven Approach to Tutoring". Depending on one's experience, individuals can charge $20-$50/hour. Individuals working with younger children should have lower rates than working with older children and adult learners.

3. Curriculum Development: Curriculum development is a great way for teachers to refine their understanding of various instructional theories and strategies to design effective classroom instruction. Many educational publishers and private clients are looking for individuals who have background experience in teaching and can apply their knowledge to designing a new course or lesson. The pay for these types of projects ranges from $1000-$5000 per project. Depending on the project, individuals can expect to spend at least 2-8 weeks on one particular project.

These are lucrative home-based business that teachers can explore further and can make them either a part-time or full-time ventures. It depends on how much they want to work and most importantly, these businesses still provides individuals the opportunity to share their knowledge and help others learn and grow on a global level.

Woodworking Project - Gives Direction Towards Marvelous Creation

Woodworking has now become one of the profitable professions. Many of the individuals are seeking their career as woodworkers. They are trying to get the training and high skills in this discipline, so that they can earn more and handsome money in the future.

There are a lot of woodworking projects, which have provided the magnificent profit to the creators. In general, there are three types of projects, which are completed by the professionals. These are the small, intermediate and large projects, and they provide the income according to their demand and the work required for their completion.

Those who are new in this field should pursue the smaller woodwork projects at the initial level. This is a profession which requires the influence from both arts and science. Those who are creative and possess good imaginations may generate a masterpiece. It is therefore, essential to have power of thinking and imagination before starting any project.

Woodworkers are considered the engineers who work on the wood and create a lot of useful items. Every new project is started to complete a design and plan which have developed in the mind of the creator. This profession requires individual as well as team efforts. There are several persons who have developed a fully functional workshop, where a lot of workers remain busy in the accomplishment of the same project.

The smaller woodwork projects could be performed by a single or a group of small professionals easily; however, in case of a large project, it is impossible to complete it within the required time by a small group of individuals. Hence sometimes a large team works on this project in order to attain the height of Excellency and creation.

Every woodwork project is based upon a plan, which is made prior to start any work. Sometimes the plan is made at the group level, so that every single individual would become able to participate in the creation. Most of the time, the owner or a single creator makes a plan and explains it to his junior workers, who start to follow it in the same manner as required by the boss or the owner.

The Internet is a very good source of information. An individual may find a lot of ideas, if he wants to start his work on any woodwork project. Nature gives the best inspiration to an individual. It is therefore; better to see what is present in the environment, and how things are moving on in a balanced direction. There is no scientist in this world, who has not been inspired with the nature. There are many inventions, which have been created after observing several things in the environment.

Woodwork projects are beneficial in two respects. They not only provide the chance to generate a new thing, but also provide lucrative income to those who are the creator or work in the wood industry. In conclusion, woodworking is a noble profession, and those who are affiliated with it not only gaining profits, but also furnishing advantages to the society.

Woodworking Project Plans - What Are the Resources to Get Inspiration?

Are you interested to know how woodworking craft is performed? Although this art is not quite easy to learn, nevertheless, it is also not too difficult. You should not be disheartened at any stage while performing woodwork, and should continue acquiring skills, since the hard work is the key of achievements.

Before going to perform any task, it is much better to make woodworking project plans in your mind. You may find a lot of help on the internet, concerning various types of plans in this regard. However, you would be required to perform some research before starting to work on these plans, since all of them are not valid, or they possess poor information for the beginners.

At the start, you have to make yourself familiarize with the tools and machinery, used for any special type of woodwork. In order to have such tools, it is better to visit those sites, which are highly recommended. You would be required to have some professional tactics and techniques at the time of your work. These tips could be obtained from the internet resources.

It should be tried to make the wood work simple rather than making it complicated. Additionally, you may get fun while doing such a piece of work, and would never get frustration. The basic and the most critical things are to make clear plans in your mind. At the most initial level after the training, it would be rather better to start working on easy projects. Utilize your creative capabilities and develop strategies to complete the task. With the passage of time, your experience will teach you a lot, and then it would become easier for you to handle big projects as well.

Besides the internet, another way to acquire inspirational thoughts and plans is the wood craft magazines. These are the magazines, which can provide you details on various types of woodwork. You can see the pictures and make your own creative thoughts. The important thing is that, the information shared in these magazines is inspirational and accurate. One can follow easily the directions described in these magazines, and can develop good varieties of wooden items. However, there are some drawbacks as well associated with these magazines. They are not vast as like as the internet, and hence you may only get few of the ideas per issue. Therefore, the magazines can only provide a short-term boost to your work.

Woodworking project plans are very important, since they provide the right direction and give an idea of the estimated budget. In majority, the people do not consult any resource in order to make these plans. They claim that they have acquired too much experience in the field of woodworking that they no longer need to have any resource for creation. This approach is not good, since plans make a person to work in an organized fashion. Those varieties which have been developed by suitable plans are magnificent, and they attain popularity earlier than others.

In conclusion, woodworking projects plans are the key to get success in this profession. People use different resources in order to acquire these plans, and to increase their power of thinking and creative capabilities.

The Perfect Place For A Home Based Business

When you are a mother you will love to spend as much time as possible with your new baby. A young child needs his/her mother's attention especially in the very first years of life. But no matter how much a woman enjoys staying at home with her baby, at some point she feels that she needs to do more. So the best solution for you to keep busy is to start a home project.

When you are considering starting a project you have to think your options thoroughly. You have to think about all the things that you like to do. You might want to try something else than what you normally do. You don't have to start a project involving the nature of your real job. For instance, you might want to try to do some new things like staring your own handmade jewelry project. With a little bit of imagination you might design some great pieces.

Something else that you might like to do is to make some clothes for your baby. Trying a sewing project can also be a fun and productive way to spend a few hours a day. But when these projects are really successful you should do more than simply tell you friends about it. For instance you might want to start your personal blog. This can be a great way to advertise your business and also start a new little project.

However, there is one thing that you will have to be careful of: your child's safety. Whether you are making handmade jewelry or sewing you have to be careful where you put your materials. Kids are very curious and you wouldn't want them to start playing with needles and beans.

So, the best thing that you could do is to move all your materials in your garden studio. Such a place can be a perfect place to conduct you small home based business. The garden room is the perfect investment for any large family.

How to Draft a Winning Proposal on Freelance Job Sites

Hello Freelancers and Contractors.

We all come across various online freelance websites where there are loads and loads of projects and work from home opportunities. If taken seriously and rightly these resources are a medium to make loads and loads of money just by working fulltime or part time from home or your work place.

Some of these websites include:
 Elance ( my favourite )
 Guru
 Scriptlance
 Freelanceswitch
 Odesk
 GAF

And many more if you Google around.

I myself started in 2008 after my postgrad and registered to some of the above sites, Having basic internet skills and web design etc, I started to place the proposals and bids on these websites. I don't need to say this that for first few months I couldn't even win a single project on any of these sites:D

At one point I decided to give up on these and thought everything is a scam and only experienced people bag the projects or its all a fantasy world out there.

So I started reading about it on forums, sites like Google and wherever I could read about freelance work and gather information. I made my notes from the info and followed few guidelines and added some of my own ideas, and bang I had won my first project in just 2 weeks of bidding.

Its 2011, In my 3 years of work, I now have loads of experience (good and bad) and I know know my way around these websites and how to win. I bag 2 projects daily on average worth 400 to 1000$ (NOT BAD HUH)

I am a founder of 4 internet based companies and consultant to some of very huge internet companies.

I know today more and more people and individuals are looking for avenues where they can earn money online. Here I am to share my experience and knowledge how to make it possible, if you follow these guidelines I am sure you will be a success.

HOW TO DRAFT A WINNING PROPOSAL ON FREELANCE JOB SITES

1. There are loads and loads of projects posted daily, so first decide your niche and not go behind all of them, look for those which you are an expert in, note down your skills and shortlist projects based on them.
2. Once you have the projects you want to bid on, thoroughly read the clients requirements and description, don't just read the title and bid via a template.
3. Start with a nice Greeting or hello, Introduce yourself in just 1-2 lines.. nobody is interested in you name initially, they just want to know your expertise, so I don't suggest you start with hi my name is john doe blah blah blah.
4. After your short intro explain about your skills and your expertise.
5. Give 3-5 links to works relevant to posted work which you have already done
6. Place links to 5 of your best works done (never mind if they are related just your favourites) or give a link to your online portfolio page(pls don't have your contact info on these links as freelance sites may ban your account.
7. Please go ahead and ask project specific questions to clients and clear your doubts about the project.
8. then have a short description about WHY YOU SHOULD BE SELECTED.
9. Thank you note.

Finally comes the price.
I am sure 90% of freelancers get stuck on how or what the price of this project should be.

Give your best and cheapest rate, these days some people are ready to work for free just to gain a client so there is hell lot of competition out there. If you are a new user without feedback your chance to get selected is only your proposal and lowest price. You can't dictate terms till you have huge number of positive feedback behind you.

All the clients on these sites are there because the want best work in cheapest rates and your competition is whole world. Be cheap, be fair and bid only if you can do the task. Give more than asked in the project and get repeat works from them.

I will be posting more and more articles based on my experiences.
I am a winner today because I was dedicated, deliver high quality works and reasonable in pricing.

Do this and you will never be short of work:D

Regards

10 Questions to Ask Yourself When Applying for an Online Writing Job

Even if an online writing project sounds interesting, you should take your time and think about it. Things that look good on the outside may not be good enough on the inside as well. You have to take your time and make a few considerations before you place your bid. This is a checklist of 10 questions that you have to ask yourself before you bid on any online writing job.

1. What is the subject you will be writing on? Does the project brief mention the subject in it?

2. Are you familiar with the subject? Have you done a similar job before?

3. Does the topic involve something offensive or illegal that you don't want to write about? Check that out first-webmasters have all kinds of websites and all kinds of writing requirements.

4. If research is involved, do you know how to go about it? Do you know what resources to use? Does the employer promise to help you with resources?

5. How long is the content that you will have to write? This will depend from project to project. The usual article runs between 400 and 500 words each, but other forms of content, such as sales pages, can run much higher. Will you have enough material to say for so many words?

6. Are you sure you will be able to complete the project in a reasonable time frame? You have to also ensure that you are free to work, and don't have other obligations that may interfere with your timely delivery of the work.

7. Does the employer have good ratings? What are their past providers saying about their instruction clarity, their demeanor and their payment promptness? These are things that matter greatly, even more than the task you are taking up.

8. Is the employer compensating you enough for the work you will be putting in? You might feel tempted to bid for a low-paying job once in a while, but when the job is finished and you are paid lower than what you wanted in the first place, it can leave a bad taste in the mouth.

9. Does the employer have a particular time-zone requirement that you won't be able to fulfill? Some employers want their providers to be constantly on instant messengers like Skype or Gmail with them. However, if you are in the totally opposite part of the world, you may find that difficult.

10. Are you in a good frame of mind to work? Don't bid on projects if you are going through a rough time, have a personal or family problem, aren't in the best of your health, etc. You may end up tarnishing your online freelancer profile.

So, check out the answers to these questions before you place your bid. If you need any clarification, don't hesitate to shoot a question to the project poster. They'll be happy you asked!

Online Freelancer Jobs - What to Look at When Bidding on Freelancing Jobsites

A very interesting way to make money from home is by accepting and accomplishing online freelancer jobs. There are several websites that have good opportunities here, such as Freelancer, Scriptlance, oDesk, PeoplePerHour, Guru and eLance to name a few. The principle of all these online freelancer jobsites is mostly the same-you get project notifications, then you bid for them if you are interested and if the employers are interested, they get in touch with you. There may be negotiations and some general discussion before any project poster decides they want to accept your bid. Once that happens, you can start work and get paid as decided upon.

However, though this seems so limpidly clear, there are many people who are cheated through these online freelancer jobsites. In most cases, it is because they did something wrong while placing their bid.

Hence, the success of your online freelancing tasks depends on the kind of bid you place. You have to be very meticulous here. Here are some things that you have to keep in mind while bidding.

1. Do not bid on each and every project that comes your way. Most online freelancing jobsites give their members a selected number of bids per month. So, you have to use your bids wisely.

2. Always makes sure to read the project instructions in full. Do not just look at the title and assume that you have understood everything.

3. The task must seem like something you can do. If there is even one aspect in the project description that you cannot accomplish, you should give it a pass and wait for something better to come your way. Remember that these project posters can rate and review you. So, if you cannot do a good job, you may get a bad rating and that can affect your future prospects on the website.

4. Apart from looking at the project description, you should also look at the budget of the project poster. Do you think this is a reasonable budget? Is what you are hoping to get within this range? If the money is not good, don't bid.

5. Look at the deadline also. Most project posters will tell when they want their jobs to be submitted by. You have to make sure you have the time to work and that you can finish the project within the stipulated timeframe.

6. Look also at the reviews that the employer has got. See what other people are saying. Are they complaining about insufficient instructions, poor communication, rude behavior, delay in payment, etc.? These are things you have to be very careful about.

7. How comfortable are you with the whole thing? You need to be completely satisfied. If there is something you wish to know more about, you can post a message for the employer in a clarification board.

If everything is well and as per your liking, then you can go ahead and bid. Best of luck!

Develop and Nurture Your Freelancer Profile - Four Tips To Guide You

A freelancing online profile is very important. It indicates your level of experience and how good your skills are. It also indicates your dedication and discipline. What is more, a profile shows if you are a trustworthy worker or not. If your online CV is good, then you can expect to get new clients and your old employers would still hang around. That is why you should know how to develop and nurture it properly.

What exactly should you do to make your portfolio of skills attractive?

Be willing to be just a beginner - As a new freelancer, there is a lot you do not know about the field. Thus, you have to give yourself time to learn and practice. If you choose to join freelancing sites, then follow the right steps. Bid on projects just like everybody else, and always try to find a way to defeat your competition. It is easy to give up when you try to win projects a few times without success.

Pay attention in your first projects - The very first project you win opens your online CV. Therefore, you have to give it your best attempt. Most freelancers begin as writers of articles, blogs, reviews and so on. Do your best to show your employer that you understand what is going on. Try to work quickly and accurately to complete the projects on time. In other words, be careful how you interact with your very first employer. Who knows? If you make a buyer satisfied, you may snatch repeat projects and positive reviews from him or her.

How to bid on projects - It is important to plan the bid message and bid price very accurately. Avoid praising yourself too much at the point of creating your Internet career profile. At this level, it is often difficult to prove your freelance skill and what you should do is to win an employer's trust. Stop telling long stories and narrations about your abilities. Instead, convince your buyer that you have read his or her project and have understood it properly. Specify the tools, techniques or methods you would use to complete a project fully. Do not exaggerate your bid price at this stage.

Avoid buyers who deny you a rating - Have you ever met freelancer buyers that deny their providers a rating? Some are so mean that they will not even rate you on your first project. They claim to want your services outside the freelance site because they know how easy it is to steal from you the money and the ratings/feedback. Another problem with such buyers is that they often overload you. Do you know what this means? It means that you will work only for them and will abandon your efforts to grow and nurture your online profile.

How to Start a Freelancer Profile Online - Five Easy Steps To Follow

Freelancing is a good money making opportunity. Would you like to terminate your job and become a freelancer? Some of you have already made that decision and are currently earning a living through freelance work. As you start your freelancer career, focus on creating an online profile or CV. This is something that would demand patience and discipline from you. So, how do you create a profile?

Step 1: Identify your niche

Beginners can very easily lose focus by trying many online jobs at the same time. The best thing is to choose one area of interest and focus on it only. For instance, you could decide to be a writer, a typist, a data entry expert, a web designer, a programmer and so on.

Step 2: Join several freelancing sites

There are many freelance bidding sites today. Despite that, you should only join huge and legitimate sites. Its true that they offer too much competition, but you can still find your way up the ladder.

Step 3: Scrutinize the available projects

Huge freelancer sites consist of many employers or buyers of services and employees or providers of services. Since you need work, you should click the "Browse Projects" icon. Then, open all projects that define your interests. Read them carefully so that you can understand the requirements.

Step 4: Place your bid

After understanding the scope of the project, determine how much money you would like to receive for completing it fully. This is tricky when you are new and without feedback or reviews. Thus, accepting less as a starter is wise. In your bid, try to show a buyer that you have read the project details properly. Choose your words properly, and be clear on the time you need to complete the project. If you have any questions, request the employer to give you more details via the private message board or inbox. Some websites such as rentacoder hide other provider's bids and so you cannot tell how much money other providers want for the same project. Describe the strategy you would use to do the project properly and on time too.

Step 5: Follow up
Do not just bid one time and disappear. When you want something badly, you must follow up. If a buyer sends you a private message, reply it thoughtfully and if requested to send an evidence of past work, you should do it. However, you should avoid buyers who ask for unpaid samples. If possible, show published work because you have zero chances of losing it. At freelancing sites, you are likely to try for quite sometime before you can win your first project. For that reason, you should still insist until you get it.
