That is the beginning of the trap. He begins with small talk, nothing for your to worry about and general questions which seem like nothing. What is your age group? What is your business? Where do you go for vacations? These enquiries aren't intrusive, so you reply. Shortly he's moved on to some very personal questions. Halfway through the survey, he assures you there's only "one last question". At the end of the interview, he thanks you and hangs up. The survey takes 5 minutes, and the information he has achieved is very personal.

The phone rings again to follow up a couple of days later and calls you by name. She seems to be a friend. You believe it's somebody you can't quite recall who it is.

She then reminds you of the first call, and congratulates explaining that you among the lucky ten people to have qualified for a limited gift. You just have to attend a seminar which is in all likelihood is a long, sales pitch where someone will try and force you to buy something.

It 's then you realize you've been caught hook line and sinker you have fallen for one of the oldest tricks in the book, the social hucksters practice!

This method is known professionally as the "foot in the door strategy".

Work At Home Ways of Thinking

Every moment of the day, daily work and daily play, we are affected by our inner psychology. We repeat mistakes over and over. We stop something just before we make progress. We ruin our work and make ourselves fail because of forces inside that we don't see. These things are especially crucial in our work and money-making efforts.

We are constantly helped and hurt by our strengths and weaknesses. It's hard to learn about. It's quite wild and wooly. It has many secrets and in order to really start making money we have to learn a lot of these secrets. We must learn a lot of rules and subtle little operational wrinkles that are hard to learn on our own. But most of us don't know anyone who can teach us so we have no choice but to set out on our own.

In a situation like one where we are trying to transition from a job that involves going to a workplace each day and spending a set number of hours that are highly structured to a situation where we are our own boss and we're learning and building a business at home, we not only have to learn to understand and solve the mysteries of the internet but also the mysteries of our own inner attitudes, assumptions, and emotional forces that so quickly lead us to form misconceptions about how things work and lose faith in our own abilities. It's easy for us to go round and round as a result of our fears and foolish expectations spinning our wheels in the sand of misunderstanding and unrealistic dreams. Many times we don't really notice but we have continuous urges to decide it's an impossible thing we're trying to do and we may as well give up.

It is important to know ourselves and become more accurate in our psychological understanding so we can learn more about ourselves if we intend to make progress.
