How to Introduce Your Baking and Get Customers

Have you found the perfect product to bake? If the answer is yes - then the next ingredient to a successful home baking business is customers. Where will you find your customers?

Think About Who You Know
Think about where you go and what you do on a regular basis. Who do you run into while you're out and about? This could be family, friends, your hairdresser, social clubs, ladies clubs, church family, nurses, realtors, doctors, librarians, your insurance agent, midwives, neighbors, former co-workers, your spouse's co-workers, etc. Soon-to-be customers are everywhere you are! They will be thrilled to find someone who will provide a great product at a great price and make it convenient at the same time. And talk about freshness! They can't get freshness like that just anywhere!

How will you introduce your products?
Bake samples to introduce others to your new baking business. Tell them you are beginning a new bake-at-home business and would like their opinion on your new products. If you are uncomfortable just taking them in to the business you could ask them if they would like to see them. Be prepared to tell them how often you are going to bake (1 time a week, only on holidays, every Friday, bake to order, etc.) and how far in advance they need to place their order. The most effective way to sell your product is to let them see, smell, and taste what you are going to sell.

Be sure to ask them to consider letting you do their baking. Many will say yes. Soon you will have to decide what your limits are and how much baking you want to do.

Another way to get customers is to offer to make shower or birthday cakes, etc., as your gift. Soon word will get around that you do cakes.

If it is your turn to bring sweets to the Sunday morning coffee hour or ladies tea, make sure you bring your best. Everyone will want to know where you got your sweets. Tell them you made them and sell them in your baking business. You probably will not have to tell them they will be asking you. Let them know if they ever need something special you will be happy to make it for them.

You might want to sell at a local flea market. Be sure you know the rules of the flea market, as some do not allow this. The rules also change so check back every few months if they do not presently allow it. Selling at a flea market can be quite successful. If you want to do this and develop a customer base you should be there regularly - like the first Saturday of the month, or every Saturday. Soon they will be looking for you! Be prepared to have cards with your contact information on it for when they ask you for it. I would suggest including some individual goodies for flea markets and craft fairs as well as your usual items. My eleven year old daughter recently made up a large batch of 6-inch chocolate chip party cookies. These were undecorated and bagged in everyday storage bags. She sold every single one of them within an hour.

Starting a Home Business - Are You Afraid of Selling?

There aren't too many business activities more dreaded than selling. Why is that? If you step back from business, you'll realize we sell all the time...

... A man sells his prospective wife on why she should marry him.

... A woman sells her husband on why he should pick up his socks.

... Parents sell their children on why they should eat their vegetables.

Day in and day out - we sell. And think nothing of it. So why do we cringe when we have to "sell" our product or service? Historically, sales is associated with deceiving and getting someone to act in YOUR best interest rather than THEIR best interest. A win/lose.

In an ethical business, selling is different... a win/win.

It's about matching a customer's needs and best interest with a product or service that will meet those needs, and be in their best interest. You see, with many products and services, people need information and qualified advice to determine if the product or service will benefit them.

Sales - in part - is educating someone with their best interest at heart.

It's consultative and facilitating, not deceptive and pushy. It's about giving a reason WHY... Why is your product or service good for me? When I understand why, it becomes my choice... not your deception.

Selling Tips

Perception matters. If you're not perceived well, you're not as likely to be given a chance.
Be attentive to your personal hygiene. Be clean and avoid any strong smells such as cologne or perfume.
Dress for success. It's important to be appropriately dressed. Naturally that will differ if you're selling to fortune 500 lawyers or restaurant chefs. The rule of thumb here is to be dressed slightly better than your prospective customer.
Smile and be positive. We're more receptive to friendly, happy people.
Let your passion show. Enthusiasm is contagious. Typically folks have their defenses up and they're skeptical. They're afraid of "being taken". You have to overcome that. Enthusiasm shows you believe in your product or service. It's easier for someone else to believe you when that sincerity comes through.
Know your stuff. You'll lose credibility fast if you don't know your product or service inside and out and if you don't know your competition. How can someone be convinced you have their best interest at heart when you don't really know what you're trying to sell them.The Selling Process

Understanding and mastering these four steps will pay off tremendously:

Step 1: Seek to Understand

Remember selling is consultative.

You first want to understand your prospects needs and goals. Ask relevant questions to gather information, understand them and find common ground.

For example: "What are your favorite foods? What vegetables do you like?"

Pay attention to their style... are they chatty and friendly or short and more distant. Do they favor visual and descriptive words... do they like to show? Are they more auditory... do they like to tell? You're seeking to understand them better so you can tailor your presentation to their preferred style.

Step 2: Educate With Your Presentation

Always keep in mind: "What's in it for me". The "me" in this case is your prospect. The presentation isn't about your product or service. It's about what difference your product or service will make in the life of your prospect.

How will it make them money, save them money. Save them time. Decrease their work. Improve their health. Avoid disaster. Emphasize the benefits and how it will affect them.

For example: "If you eat your spinach you'll grow up healthy and strong. You'll have muscles like Popeye!"

Step 3: Trial Close

How do you know when you've made your case? Different people need different amounts of information before they're ready to decide. You don't want to give too little information. Neither do you want to "talk yourself out of a sale".

A trial close is taking the temperature... asking questions to determine whether your prospect needs more information or they're ready to say YES.

For example: "How do you feel about eating your vegetables?"

Step 4: The Close

Here's where many folks drop the ball.

You need to actually ask for the sale. It's best to phrase it as a choice between two different options rather than a yes or no...

"Do you want spinach or broccoli?"

From my experience selling your products and services will be much, much easier than trying to convince a 4 year old to eat vegetables.

Make Money Fast - Presentation Protocol - MLM Presentation

Use the "Formula", below to help you get your customer into the right frame of mind, to commit to your business with excitement, so they can make money fast.

Summary:
1. Introduction: take action and take control and establish rapport. Be friendly, smile, complement them on something.
2. Assess & Investigate: find out what is it that will make them buy? Do this by asking questions that don't have a "Yes" or "No" answer.
3. Begin Presentation - Start the "Dialogue". This involves how you deliver the presentation, your own personal skills in delivering your message. Your expression on your face, your eyes, whether you smile or not, your body language,
Promote the "Benefits", and things that are unique to your MLM business opportunity.
4. The Close - Use the information you have gathered about their situation, and then ask "Yes" or "No" questions that will lead to them wanting to join your business., and make money fast.

Presentation Protocol To Make Money Fast:
1. Try to look reasonably neat and professional, dress more for a business look than a day at the beach.
2. Arrive on time......be friendly and sociable, maybe even give them a bit of a hug.
3. Then compliment them on something, the garden out front, maybe something they are wearing, maybe new hard wood flooring, find something to complement them on.
(You could ask a question like, "This looks professionally done, did you do it yourself, or did you hire someone"? Good opportunity to ask who they hired and get their name and phone number.)
4. Say to them, "Let's sit at the kitchen table"? It is always best to do a presentation at the kitchen table then in the living room. If the TV is on simply ask it they could shut it off so you don't have to compete with the noise.
5. Think of something you may have in common, or something universal to talk about for a minute. Maybe the hockey finals are on, or there is something big in the news that everyone is talking about. Don't just sit down and head into the presentation without creating a warm and friendly energy first.
6. Tell them you would like to lay a bit of a foundation on what to expect today in this meeting. Just to make sure that both of us are on the same page so to speak. So you might say something like " _________(there first name), __________(there spouses first name), I am very excited about what I am going to show you tonight, I think it could be an amazing opportunity for you, that is why I have come over tonight, but I could be wrong., or I might be right. We both know that if you are not interested in seriously looking at this business opportunity it will be a waist of time for both you and I, would you agree? They most always will say "Yes, of course". You then say, "So I'm going to follow a simple 3 step process, to ensure that we are both heading in the same direction".

Step 1. We will need to identify your needs and concerns. Identify why you are interested in looking at a business opportunity that can make money fast. So I will be asking you some questions so we both know if there is interest to make money fast.
Step 2. Introduce you to the business opportunity. Find out if you like this MLM Business Model, and are as excited about it as I am. Find out if you like the products and concept that will help you make money fast.
(Look for signs that they are sincerely, interested, and excited to consider getting involved. Note is they are not then you are done, there is no point in continuing to close them if they just are not interested).
Step 3. Every family is different, has different activities, different commitments, different hobbies and so on. It is important that we can customize this business model to accommodate your existing activities. Go for the confirmation, ask the questions that get them to say "Yes", then you say, "So after we go through the 3 above steps the 3 of us should be able to make a decision, would you agree"?

You say, "Great, let's start the presentation then."

You now have control over the presentation, you can address all the points you need, and they have given you permission to proceed. The above "Steps" is what establishes trust and report with your potential prospects.

MLM Tips - Generating Leads is Only Half of the Process

If you have an MLM business, then you probably spend a lot of time figuring out how to get leads. While there is no question that getting leads is a critical component to building a successful MLM business, getting leads is really only 50% of the battle.

The other 50%, and one of the most important MLM tips I can ever give you, is understanding how to convert your leads into associates and members of your downline. After all, what good is it to have a bunch of names if you never get them into your business?

In fact, of all the MLM tips I am asked to provide, how to get a lead to say yes -- or even to change their initial no to you a yes -- is actually one of the top ones. To understand how to make this happen, you will need to make a shift from the way the majority of MLM business owners think about their leads.

It is time to stop thinking about how to sell them on your opportunity, and time to start thinking about how to show your leads that you have something that THEY want. Think about how you feel when someone tries to give you a "hard sell." It feels like they are going straight for your wallet, and couldn't care less who you are and what you need.

So start to think of yourself and your job as being a problem solver. What you have to offer these leads is a SOLUTION to whatever they are looking for or to whatever problem they are trying to solve. Therefore, understanding what your leads are looking for is the first part of this MLM tip.

The second part of this -- and one of the most critically important MLM tips is to make sure you are diversifying your communication methods with your leads.

Expand your reach and approach your audience using different "tools" in your marketing bag of tricks.

Have more of an abundance mentality when it comes to your leads -- Just because a lead didn't say yes to you today doesn't mean that another day or in response to a different approach they won't say yes tomorrow.

Attending Live Network Marketing Events

After every live event I attend, I always get people asking me 'Was it worth it?' I always answer 'Yes!'

If you go to these events, you need to remember, it is a 'Network Marketing Event'. Which means you need to 'Network' with people. Talk to as many people as you can. Everybody in attendance is there for the same reason you are... to meet new people, learn some new things and mastermind with the gurus and attendees alike.

I recently attended a live event, which just so happened to be on a Caribbean cruise ship! It was a five day cruise, with two days of conference. The conference days were split in half. Half the day was presentation, while with the other half, we split into smaller groups of 5 or 6 and had an hour to sit down and talk with each speaker. This was the opportunity of a lifetime. Whatever questions you had, they will answer. On the other days, when there were not any presentations, we all just hung out on the ship, in the Cayman Islands and in Cozumel, Mexico. This was also a great time to mastermind, just get to know each other and make new friends.

Now, not every event is going to be like this one. Most will be one or two day events and will be in large groups. This doesn't mean that you just sit and take notes and don't mingle with everybody. Get out there and make some new connections.

Bring some nice business cards and hand them out to people you talk to - don't go around giving away your business cards to people you haven't connected with. It's just a waste of cards and people won't know or care who you are.

Try to talk to the speakers or the owners of the company. If it is a large event, they'll be pretty busy, but you should still make an effort to say 'Hi'.

I learn something new from every event that I attend. Whether it's some new information about the company that I'm with, a new marketing nugget, a new contact and I always try to make a new friend. Remember, these are all like-minded people that most likely paid to be there. Stay in contact with your new friends and help each other out where you can.

Live events are great places to make some new videos. Ask some of the speakers, gurus or company owners to make a short 2 - 3 minute video with you... somebody will say yes! And get lots of pictures of yourself at the event and with your new friends.

Yes. Attend the next live marketing event you have coming up. Do whatever you can to make it there. Take notes, meet some new people, make some new friends, get some pictures, make some videos, and don't forget to have some fun!

You get to the end of your MLM presentation and you know the prospect needs and wants your product or service for his home based business but he still say's no.

Well I am here to tell you that all the hard work and knowledge about how wonderful your Company is, how your products are the best products in the network marketing industry and the compensation plan is the best you have ever seen on this planet. I am sorry to say that all this means absolutely nothing. Yes you read this right, it means nothing.

If you want to be successful in the network marketing business you need to learn the language that your prospect will understand. And the way to do this is by learning the Personality Colours. I am using colours because it is easier to remember. And by learning the main personality colour of your prospect and by speaking to him in the language he understands you will catapult your business forward FAST.

There are 4 main colours, Yellow, Blue, Red and Green.Not everyone will be all one colour, they might be mainly Red with a bit of blue etc. You get the picture. So let's start to explain the personality colours.

Yellow: these people are professional helpers, nurses, charity workers, they do more for other people than they do for themselves. They just want to help people.

Blue: these are party people, they love to talk, love action and adventure and love meeting new people.

Red: they are money people, motivated by money, great organisers, thrive on competition and born leaders. They are all about the money.

Green: now these people do not like being with people they are accountants, computer programmers, scientists, they love facts and figures. They will go on the internet and find out every little detail they can about your network marketing opportunity. They will contact you when they are ready, could take them weeks!.

So now you understand the colour personality of your MLM prospect and you can now talk to him in the secret language he will understand. Remember that if you have been getting no's it's because you might as well have been speaking in a foreign language.

Let me give you an example:

Your prospect is mainly a Yellow, remember these people care, they love to help people, they want to make the world a better place. Now you start telling them about how much money they can earn, big money, lots of money. How they can buy that great big house and drive a big red sports car. Eat in the most expensive restaurants. How they can be a team leader and organise all the meetings and talk all about the money.

Now what is your Yellow prospect thinking. They hate it, they can't stand it, all you talk about is money! money! Money!. Your selfish and you don't care about helping people.Go away!

You might as well be talking to them in Greek.. They will never join your company. Period.

But lets imagine your prospect was a Red. If you said those same words to them you would be talking their language. They would be sitting forward in their seat thinking, Oh yeah all that money, the big house, a big red sports car, I can be a team leader and tell people what to do, where do I sign, I am going to start building my team now.

OK I have slightly gone over the top in my example but you get the picture, don't you?

How Larry King's Secret Can Help Build Your Network Marketing Organization

Have you ever noticed how people just open up to Larry King on his live television and radio shows?

For years I thought that maybe it was his folksy manner. Or his trademark shirtsleeves and suspenders. Or the big glasses. Or that great voice that you would recognize anywhere.

Yes, his entire persona makes him a superstar at what he does, but there is a more basic secret that any one of us can learn. And that secret can help you build a network marketing organization filled with people who are highly energized and committed to success.

The secret begins with sincerity. Larry doesn't argue or yell at people. He never gets in their face. Even when he asks the "tough" questions, he asks in a way that says, "I really want to know your side of the story." So, instead of getting defensive, the other person opens up and says what is on their mind.

Larry also avoids questions where the answer is either yes or no. Those answers are dead ends. They tell you very little about what the person is thinking. You want to know who, where, what, when, why, and how.

That's why Larry almost always asks open-ended questions. Open ended questions force the other person to think. They give the other person a chance to tell you what is really on their mind. They allow the other person to volunteer information that you may never have thought to ask them about.

What does this have to do with network marketing?

Network marketing is a people business. Learning about the people around you is critical to your success and to theirs. Try asking a potential distributor, "Do you want to improve your financial future?" Almost everyone will say yes. When they do, what have you learned about them? Nothing. You learned what you already knew with almost 99.9% certainty. That everyone wants to improve their financial future.

Change the question just a little and see what happens. Try asking an open-ended question such as, "What hopes and dreams do you have for your financial future?" Or "How do you want to improve your financial future?"

Now we're getting somewhere. Everyone will give you a slightly different answer. Some people will say that they want to become millionaires. Others will say that they just need some extra cash every month. Others will say that they want to build up savings to pay for their child's education. Others will say that they want to buy a nice car or a boat.

In the differences you will learn something very important about that person. Something that will help you connect with that person, both personally and in business. When you talk to them about your great business opportunity, you will be able to tie the opportunity directly to their personal hopes and dreams.
