Avoid Being Duped in the Internet by Using Plain Common Sense

One of the ways you can avoid being involved in an Internet scam is by using your common sense. Well, that looks like a non-brainer advice. Who doesn't have common sense anyway? Yes, that's right but how come a lot of people are getting scammed in the net? It looks like some of us need some coaching on how to use our common sense specially is such matter as how to avoid being victimized by internet scam.

I think part of the reason we become susceptible to being preyed on by internet scam artists is the still seemingly mysterious or magical aura many people still continue to ascribe to the Internet, specially in the area of money-making. The notion somewhat persists that if you only knew the secret formula or key, something like a virtual magic door will open to you and out of it will come tons and tons of money - all the money that you'll ever need in your lifetime!

One self-proclaimed internet business guru even claims the simplicity of it has been so embarrassing he finds it obscene to be earning so much money so easily while other people have to sweat out blood to earn even a fraction of what he earns through simple tweaks in his website. The catch is he has to offer his secret for sale to the general public to assuage his feelings of guilt for having it so easy!

Nothing can be farther from the truth. The Internet is a virtual reality. As such it reflects the physical world where you and I live. Business laws that operate in the physical world are the same laws that operate in the cyber world. Study how you do business in the physical world and apply the same principles in the net. That will be the thing that will propel you to success.

Here are some pointers for the common sense that can help you avoid being duped by internet scam:

Beware of the so-called secret formulas. When you do business in the physical world and you discover a formula for a very marketable product, would you sell that formula on the guise that you want to help other people succeed by becoming your competitor? That would be silly of you. And yet how often do you encounter that in the landing page of an internet scam? You read of people who are supposed to be generating an avalanche of wealth through their system. If that were the case, why are they selling their system for $47 or $99? Use your common sense, avoid being duped, and beware of those so-called "secrets!"

Look at the product the Internet scam is offering you. In the physical world, you buy a product because you truly need it. It has some usefulness for you independent of any idea that you might be able to do business with it. For example, you might buy a food supplement offered by a networking company because you find it beneficial to your health. Even if you decide not to go to business with it afterward, the product has a value of its own and you can continue buying it. Apply this same yardstick to any product offered to you in the net. Is the product something you can patronize independent of any business proposition? If it is not, then beware. You might be on the verge of buying into an internet scam.

Beware if in offering you a business, the sales talk has a strong emphasis on making very substantial amounts of money within a short period of time. Something like generating $1,000 a day within one week, one month, or even one year should be suspect. You are being sweet talked into an internet scam. Much more so if it is coupled with an accompanying emphasis that you can make that much money with so little effort. There are, of course, legitimate business opportunities that also talk about generating big income. But the emphasis is on progressive growth not on getting rich overnight.

Finally, beware of simple office jobs being offered in the net which you can have after paying a joining fee. Common jobs being offered are data entry, reading and forwarding mails, etc. - really simple jobs anyone with some clerical training can easily do. Why would legitimate companies offer that kind of job to anyone and then pay substantial amount of money when they can just hire anyone on temporary basis and pay the normal minimum rates? Suspect this kind of job offers. They are internet scam appealing to your natural desire to just stay at home while performing a high paying job.

Applying common sense yardstick for identifying scams in the net can also help you identify legitimate opportunities and avoid being duped. They are the opposite of internet scam. Look for companies with reasonable promises like supplementing your current employment salary. A claim that you can perhaps earn as much as you are earning in your office job after one year and can perhaps decide to go full time with the business is reasonable. An equal emphasis is in performing systematic work that allows you to leverage through team work with other business enthusiasts like you. These companies also offer products you can enjoy independent of any business proposition. They could be at a discounted price so that even if you don't decide to go to business, you can actually save money and, therefore, increase your purchasing power by just enlisting with them. Joining these legitimate companies can give you ultimately the financial security you are looking for and most of all - when you are in a legitimate net business, you become more immune to the attractions of internet scam.

Forum Marketing Tips - When Did Common Sense Go Out the Window?

I'm writing this article in response to a thread that somebody started over at the Warrior Forum. Every so often, somebody decides that we need to have safeguards put in place to help prevent new marketers from getting ripped off by other members. My question is simple. When did common sense go out the window, not only when it comes to forum marketing, but in regard to anything we do online? I'm going to be taking a look at this issue specifically as well as the problem in general. I think you'll find this article interesting if nothing else.

Okay, the initial problem is that people are coming to the WSO forum and buying products that end up either not delivering on their promises or not delivering at all...as in they didn't get the product. The seller just took off with their money. Eventually, the seller gets banned but that doesn't solve the problem of the person getting ripped off. So what does?

A little common sense might help. Most, if not all of these sellers, have been at the forum for a very short period of time (maybe a month or two) have contributed very little to the discussion there, don't use their real names and a list of other things that are red flags to me. If you go to the Warrior Forum WSO marketplace and see somebody selling something and they've only been around for a month or two and have hardly any posts, not to mention that they're using some forum name like joeuser1234, what could possibly compel you to believe that you can trust this person? What are the indicators? I don't see any.

And yet, it happens time and time again. Somebody sees some wild claim made by these relatively new people and jump right on the bandwagon. Don't get me wrong. Not every new member is looking to rip you off, but like it or not, if you're new, you need to establish credibility. The forum is not an entitlement marketplace. You have to EARN the right to sell there and be respected. It doesn't just get handed to you.

Truth is, this is just a microcosm of the rest of the Internet. People see sales pages with no name on them, no way to contact the seller and yet, they buy into these insane claims every single day. And then they wonder why the product is crap and they can't get any support for it when they contact them after the sale. Forget about getting questions answered before the sale. That's not going to happen.

Point is, when did common sense go out the window? I don't buy anything unless I am darn near 100% sure that I can trust the person. And that involves doing a lot of research on the person or company and the product as well. I look for unbiased reviews without affiliate links attached to them. I look to see if there have been any prior complaints. In short, I do my homework.

I guess until people use the brains that God gave them, these things are going to continue to happen.

To YOUR Success,

Do You Trust Your Sponsor? Why Upline Support is Important in Network Marketing

Your sponsor can be a key ingredient to your success in network marketing; especially in the beginning. When you are new and fresh you need guidance and usually this guidance comes from your upline, most likely your direct sponsor. If your upline neglects you, it can be very frustrating and discouraging. It may make you feel like you are all alone in this business and you have just been conned out of the 'X' amount of dollars you spent to buy into the opportunity.

There are ways to prevent this from happening. Before you join their business check and see if they have a blog that they contribute too. If they have a blog that they contribute to on a regular basis, it means they care enough to have an outlet for sharing information with their team. Opt in to their email list and see what kind of emails they send to you. Are they genuine emails that show value in the information they present to you? Or are they always trying to pitch you every chance they get. There is nothing wrong with a sponsor pitching his leads, but they should also show value by sharing free information about how to become successful online. Whether it's marketing tips to motivational quotes, these are they types of things that show they care about making you a success. You should also make sure they return your calls and emails. Some sponsor's downlines are so large that they receive to many calls and emails to get back to immediately, so allow some time. I'd say give it 1-3 days for a response, because receiving over 1400 emails a day can be very difficult to respond to.

It's important to note that you should get a feel for their personality and attitude. Do they listen to your questions, do they address your questions, or are they rude and ignorant? People will always have a good ability to sense whether someone is a leader or not. You can always sense whether someone is faking the success or not. It is always something that comes out naturally as opposed to it being forced and faked. This is the keen intuition all of us have that you need to pay attention to when you are investigating your sponsor. Because the last thing anyone wants is to be thrown in the water without being taught how to swim. I have been in many sink or swim situations, and even though I got through them, it was not easy in the beginning.

I will work closely with you to become successful online.

Creating an Office in Your Home is Easy and Fun

There are plenty of people who are the picture of organization at their workplace but they come home to a life filled with clutter and disorganization. They may find themselves with unnecessary late fees on unpaid bills, difficulty finding things they have purchased, or running around in circles late for every event they attend. If they are a co-worker of yours, you may be surprised to find out they live this way. If it is you, you probably hide in your home in shame. It can be tough to entertain and feel comfortable having others over to visit if your home is in shambles. A great place to begin organizing your home is by putting together a home office. This allows you to at least get a grip on important paperwork like bills and tax documents. Even if the dishes pile up or the laundry goes unfolded, you will at least be able to save yourself time and money when doing important household work. Putting together a home office is easy. There are just a few supplies you need and you can make the space comfortable and inviting. Begin the process by organizing your office equipment. Find a place for your computer, printer, and fax machine that enables you to use them without setting things up every time you need them. Make sure they are on a sturdy surface and purchase any supplies you may need to keep them operational. It is a good idea to have a backup ink refill or inkjet cartridge so you do not run out when you need it most. Once the electronic side of things is in order, you can move on to papers and files.

To determine what filing system will work best for you, sort through all of your loose papers. Decide what needs to be kept and what can be shredded or recycled. Be sure to destroy anything with your name, address, or personal information on it. After you have decided what needs to be kept on hand, organize it into categories that make sense for you. A good idea is to keep everything together by year. In the current year, divide it by month, or use another system. You can use subcategories if necessary. For instance, you may create a file for health related information and then further break it down by family member. You may want to take a bit of time to think about what system is going to work for you, but choose a system that makes sense. There are no rules as long as it makes sense to you. Once you have your computer set up and your files organized, you are well on your way to an organized office space. All that is left to do is to spruce up the space and make it comfortable. Add family photos, some comfortable seating, a few decorative items, and anything else you can think of to make the space your own. You may even want to use this space for books, photo albums, or craft materials. A home office is a great idea.

Connor R. Sullivan has an assistant at the office who buys the [http://www.corporatetoners.com/]ink refill needs of the business online. Once a month the assistant orders [http://www.corporatetoners.com/]ink jet cartridges online.
